Any reason why Fable 1 has a 85 metacritic, but Fable Anniversary has a 68?

I'm also shocked Crackdown hasn't been added to Gamepass.

Really? That game horrible when it tried it a few days ago, can't see 4K making up for it

It really is that good. Stolen from kevin82485 on Reddit:

This is fantastic stuff from MS. Keeping an eye on this stuff, the day they enhance the Mass Effect Trilogy, I'm going to go ahead and buy a XOX day and date.

If only they'd stop geo-blocking their services for non-supported countries, I'd be really really really eager to go buy an Xbox One X.

I can't believe how great Forza Horizon and Crackdown look now. Free upgrades to two 360 great. Keep it up Xbox team.

Wow, this is great. Never played through a Fable game before, might have to give this one a shot.

The work the BC and OS team is doing at Microsoft is unbelievable. Not only are these games getting enhanced, but they managed to add a Graphics/Performance option for the games as well? I really appreciate the work that's being put in to solidify Xbox as a "platform" that is going to maintain these old games in such a good state for so long.

Because of this announcement, I signed up for Gamepass to play Fable Anniversary. I was going to do it anyway for Sea of Thieves, so I figured I'd just jump in early. I'm actually getting 3 months for $19.98. It will be my first Fable game. I'm getting prepared just in case those Playground/Fable 4 rumors are true.

I also just purchased Crackdown for $14.99 digitally. I played very little of it when it first came out. Excited to get back to it.

I'm still enjoying Forza Horizon 3. I don't need to play 1. I won't pretend I have time to go back to The Witcher 2.

Yeah, as I guessed Horizon looks better than Horizon 2. I hope 2 gets an X patch to bring 4K to the whole series. Amazing stuff.

And I forgot how fantastic the soundtrack on Horizon was.

FH3 was my first Horizon game and I was hopelessly addicted to it. I picked up FH and FH2 during a sale. I burned through FH2 fairly quickly and didn't spend much time with the original as I was going through some series fatigue and the game looked a little dated. I can't believe how good this patch makes the game look. I'm really happy this is how I'm experiencing the game for the first time.

Also, it's still weird that Fable Anniversary never got a One native release. Came out in the death spiral of the 360, ported to PC and released via Steam, but no One version.

saw some witcher 2 video, and I think it's probably better looking than the PC version due to the changes they made to the art style for the 360 port, and it's now clean looking with the X enhancements,

The other two have expanded the open world and evolved since this, but I think FH1 still has the best campaign.

I prefer progressing against AI characters instead of friends list drivatars. The soundtrack is amazingly 2012. Even little stuff like DJ radio banter is better as they interview opponents as you get better and comment on you. Or how the photo promos actually want you to pose a car instead of just taking a lazy picture like FH2-3.

The linearity of Colorado actually makes it the better game for me. Open-world-anything has taken its toll on me, so it's nice to go back to a game where all roads are connected with a few off-the-beat tracks to keep racing fun.

Also when the game first came out, I was enamored by the idea of racing against helicopters. No other game (or Horizon sequel!) has done this for me since.

So these games are now in 4K or more like 1080p? I am guessing 4K because 1080p usually doesn't look this crisp on my TV.

So glad they enhanced Witcher 2, I was about to do another run of W3, but now I'll be running W2 first. :)

And possibly car licenses. Not all of Xbox 360 era Forza cars made it to the Xbox One games. That's why it would also be interesting to get the Xbox 360 version of Forza Horizon 2 BC and enhanced, it has a different car list, and different races.

The games are 9 times the original resolution, 3 times on each axis. So if the game was 720p on Xbox 360, now it's native 4K.

Crackdown is as fun as I remembered, and holy shit the resolution really shows up how much artwork was lost in the 360 era.

Kudos to Ms for their BC team.

I'm trading in my S for an X next week, but 1080p TV's still take some advantage of these enhancements right? Hopefully I don't need a 4k tv for better looking BC games.

Was able to put about an hour or so into each of the 4 new games. Witcher 2 by far shows the biggest improvement followed closely by Forza Horizon. All 4 look massively better, but Witcher 2 really stands out for me. Game looks better than many current gen games. The detail in the textures is pretty impressive and only noticeable due to this upgrade of if you played the PC version with very high settings and above 1080p. Truly impressive stuff.

Crackdown at night looks insane. The neon and the lighting is just great and jumping back from the original mode to enhanced it really shows how much better it looks.

Oh yeah. I have a 4k TV but a friend that we bought an X during X Mas has a 1080p and games still looks great. What you get is almost zero jaggies and other improvements. It is no replacement for true 4 resolution, but it makes a huge difference when games are downsampled to a 1080p set. Extremely clean IQ

Boy oh boy does Fable look good now man. I can only imagine how amazing the actual brand new Fable will look. Even if it hasn't been officially announced yet, but man, I'm so happy I waited with playing FA, what a difference.

Crackdown, you can see how blurry and low res the city is on the main menu and compare that to actual gameplay, oh man.

Crackdown holds up very nicely when it comes to the gameplay. I'm having plenty of fun and it's kind of making me more at ease about Crackdown 3. The gameplay videos didn't do much for me but even if it turns out to be more of the same but of course better looking... I'd be ok with that.

I'm especially surprised how fun the driving still is. Really shows how good it was back then and just so much better designed than Saints Row or Sleeping Dogs, good lord Sleeping Dogs driving.

Can someone post some Witcher 2 screenshots? I wonder how the enhanced version looks like.
