The end of the Gamer King encounter gave me chills. Made me like Kurama a lot more.
Gotta say though I like all of the main cast, Kuwabara, Yusuke, Hiei and Kurama.

I also notice how Togashi hadn't been drawing backgrounds in various panels. In an earlier volume he did bring up about back pains so I guess his condition started as early as the 90s?
That fight showed exactly why you do not fuck with Kurama. Dude was ice cold.

While there are some stuff that I dislike (the gang quickly becoming capable to standing toe to toe with demons or enemies they've encountered for the first time with no prior training), I am overall enjoying the manga.

I mean this would be understandable for Kuwabara and Yusuke, but not Hiei and Kurama in my opinion. They're like centuries old demons or something so them knowing how to kill demons from the get go makes sense.

Yet Yusuke managed to hold his own against Hiei, granted he beat him with a stroke of luck, but he could still hold his own against him.

Also the game kid was brought back to life? Kind of a lame turnabout IMO.

Yusuke barely won and probably would have fully lost if Kurama didn't come at the end to distract Hiei. I honestly think Hiei was toying with him for a bit and this isn't post Dark Tournament Hiei at least. Probably the first time he used that much of his Jagan powers. I don't even remember how long ago he got that surgery before the series started.

Hiei used to be A-rank, but then he got sent all the way down to bottom tier. He was still like D-rank when he fought Yusuke.

I think Hiei is C rank for most of Dark Tournament, but he goes up to B rank after absorbing the dragon. Toguro was lucky that Hiei had to go into a coma after that.

OK about to read the last volume, will get the LTTP thread up later.

EDIT: and done....OK lay it on me what was the kerfuffle between Togashi and the Editor's regarding the manga's ending?

He wanted to do something specific with the Three Kings arc and they wouldn't let him, so combine that with his illness and he just went fuck it.

YYH Episode 37 - Kurama with that hair whip. Gama had a cool power.
YYH Episode 38 - Kurama with that body grass. This Toya was weaker then Seiryu, he was lucky Kurama was weakened from the beginning.

EDIT: Damn i shouldn't have checked the Toya wiki for his class level, i spoiled myself on that. It seems he's gonna be a powerful recurring character later on.

YYH Episode 42 - Yooo Toguro killing that guy with a slow moving finger was badass. Also this Kuwabara fight was totally bullshit win but still the love power up was very funny, Kuwabara doing bodybuilding poses outside the ring was great too.

Kuwabara loves himself some Yukina...much to the chagrin of Hiei and I swear only Kurama is allowed to tease him about it.

Kurama was the only person Hiei respected at first. He starts respecting Yusuke by the Dark Tournament, but never to the same level as Kurama.

Hiei knew not to fuck with Kurama. Regarding Yusuke Hiei is pretty much higher win rate Vegeta to me. I don't think I realized how much he respected him till Chapter Black though.

I don't know, so far he feels more closer to Kurama than with Yusuke and Kuwabara.
They are always together and both have been commenting on each other personalities and actions.
I mean the fanbase shipped them two for a reason...oh...I read your post wrong. I thought you meant Kuwabara for some odd reason. Lack of sleep doing its thing then. Yes Hiei and Kurama are pretty much bros.

And that was Hiei at like half strength. That team is lucky he wasn't 100% or he would've just slept through them.
I don't think Hiei understands the concept of holding back.
Nope, that's why I love him and Kurama. Kurama will let you have your fun while he plots against you. Hiei on the other hand will just annihilate you.

Kuwabara tends to make it through with dumb luck and the occasional special move.

Yusuke likes to improvise and barrel through with pure willpower. Seriously, it feels like half the techniques Yusuke is on the receiving end of are less special attacks and more torture methods. They always do basically no physical damage but are extremely painful.

Yep agreed Hiei just doesn't give a fuck, Kurama on the other hand only goes for the kill after he asserts that you are evil, Hiei calls that "a bad habit" lol

YYH Episode 45 - Ok this episode was a very cool, that sword of black flame was awesome and calling it crude/unplesant because it similar to Kuwabara was a good shit talk. And oh shit dude just fuck it up big time were comes real Kurama, was not expecting it so soon. Also i knew that voice sounded familiar it's the same as Android 17.

No way im going to sleep now, i need to see what's next.

EDIT: YYH Episode 46 - Man what a tease Yoko Kurama lasted very little, but still those plants sure looked crazy.

Sensui's attacks hurt though.

This is my third viewing of the show and I'm still not sure what the spirit wave is. Was it the healing technique I saw at the end of the Rando arc, the move Genkai did to free the doctor's experiments, or that move Yusuke did against Jin?

It appears to be what's in bold:

http://yuyuhakusho.wikia.com/wiki/Spirit_Wave

This technique was created by Genkai for a use primarily in healing. Yusuke first used the technique in the Dark Tournament. While fighting Jin, Yusuke realized that none of his techniques could defeat him. Thus, Yusuke was forced to use the Spirit Wave, believing it to be the only way to defeat Jin.

Nah, that's Yusuke who gets by on dumb luck. he didn't know bouncing the gun off the mirror would work. He only won his first match in Genkai's tournament because Genkai threw that cigarette in. If she didn't he would've lost. He also only won his second because because he wasn't paying attention where he was going and fell in the water and he only won against Rando because he fell in the pond and got algae in his ears.

No mention of all with genkai vs the doctor's humans, but in that fight they clearly called it the Spirit Wave.

The first series of fights are pretty much fights that Yusuke wasn't supposed to win. It's like nothing but Gon vs Hisoka for him.

YYH Episode 48 - Damn how powerfull was Genkai before being weakened? Seems like she was the strongest member in the team. Also Kuwabara continues to be the best, his little dance and bishonen eye change in Yukina presence is amazing.

YYH Episode 49 - Yep Genkai is no joke.

You do not want to fuck with Yoko Kurama.

Can't wait to see more then :)

YYH Episode 53 - lol at Hiei trying to compare his power to Toguro by punching the ground and see how big his crater gets, nope Toguro crater is still way bigger even at 80%. Also very nice ending of the episode, the message ("Don't come here i dont want to see your mug"") from Genkai and Yusuke Rei-gun all the way to the sky was very very nice end.

YYH Episode 54 - Kuwabara is looking very cool in that white coat. Next is Kurama fight.

He prefers orange juice of all things.

I get it now, lol Toguro is just brutal.

Finished season 2 last night. Damn I love this show. I think about this every time, but why do Botan and Koenma act like they're in mortal danger? Botan is the damn grim reaper and Koenma runs the after life.

spoiler for the last fight so the guy above me can enjoy it.
It is a little disappointing that the last fight was all about strength, but it was still really great to watch and my god Kuwabara's words when Toguro was coming after him. "Make sure my wake is as good as Yusuke's". Also why does Kuwabara's sister studying Sakyo like that? The man is fucking insane. He tortured animals when he was a teen, had a plan to make a tunnel from Demon World to the human one and trapped everyone in the stadium to kill them all. That shit made no sense. Bothers me every time. I get that he looks good, but he's fucking crazy. Also, Toguro's dead body is still gross.
