Are they seriously going through with the move? No one but Precourt wants it. Just give him a cheap expansion side and force a sale of the Crew to someone who will keep them in Columbus. Texas doesn't need another team, if they're going to move then move to New Orleans or someplace that isn't already served by a team.
No offense to Columbus but Philadelphia is the 6th largest city by population and 4th largest media market, MLS isn't letting this team move. This team isn't getting public money from any town to build a new stadium anywhere in the Delaware Valley.
Considering the story of how the Union came to be, moving them would be the dumbest idea in the world.
No one is for certain but I expect them to force it to happen. It's like writing an essay but only having the conclusion and none of the supporting arguments or evidence laid out before hand. They see Austin as nothing more than a new cash grab they can just bleed dry for another 20 years.
I think that's also the case but I imagine they'll make threats to try and force the hand of someone in southeast PA on the adjoining areas of New Jersey.

Great first week for LAFC, Galaxy, and Columbus. I've got Columbus #1 in my Power Rankings and Atlanta waaaay down in the hole.

Same with Columbus. But state attorney general just filed a lawsuit to keep them here.
