Both the Direct and Dark Souls were very heavily rumored here long before Marcus said anything about it.
Honestly even in the off chance he actually gets insider info I still wouldn't trust a word he says knowing that he deletes his tweets once they're proven false and then lies about saying those things. Don't give people who do that the time of day.
What about Emily's hint at South Park TFBH and Stick of Truth getting both a Switch-Port?

He gave a lot of specifics for CoD, so if it does happen we'll have to admit that he is only partially BS and that he might have access to some informations, probably via other persons.
He would still be unreliable of course.

At E3 2015 we knew that there won't be a new Metroid game until the new Nintendo console, codenamed as NX, is released. Metroid Prime productor told us that he is working on a new entry (in the main series), but he couldn't share more info.

Someone jokingly DM'd Marcus saying Far Cry 3 was coming to the Switch and he tweeted it. Don't trust him he just throws everything at a wall and inevitably something will stick.
This Marcus guy is like a malignus tumor that has spread amongst video game webs. In my native language, Spanish, is almost impossible to find any web not publishing his fake rumors.
The worst thing is that he is extending like a plague, and for each new web publishing his nonsense, more people believe that he is a reliable source.
Basically, he publish any single rumor that he sees in other sources, no matter how trusted is the source.
Plus a collection of other rumors that are common sense. I also have my list of things that based in all of my years observing and analyzing the industry, I think that will eventually happen. 'Diablo 3' was in this list, in the same way as ports of both 'Life is Stranger' titles. And I can extend this list through tens of titles. By my experience analyzing the medium, most of the times I'm correct with these predictions.
He does the exact same thing, but trying to lie saying that he has insider information. Sometimes, in this list things can happen based in the common sense, and he will be right in some things.
And then, more and more webs will be publishing his poorly efforts to gain attention, and he will increase the number of followers in his Twitter. As I said, he is an unstoppable plague.
In the same way as I see this rumor archive extra useful, we should have other separated thread. With a black list of all of the webs that have published information by using him as a source. To have a handy list of webs to avoid under any circumstances.

Yeah. A Twitter account called "Vandal_Leaks", presumably affiliated with the Spanish website Vandal, is piggybacking off of Sellars' claim that we're getting a Direct on Thursday. If they're wrong, that's another source you can blacklist.

Unfortunately, the only thing I can do is limit the rumor list to a certain few verified leakers, or include everyone that at least got a 'leak' right, even if that means they were just making a prediction. Like I said, I got called out at first for only posting confirmed rumors and not the bad/fake ones.
Unless we are getting another stealth direct like Januarys mini-direct, we'll know by tomorrow morning. 99.9% sure it's bullshit, unless Nintendo have done a great job keeping it under wraps.
Even if he is right, it's also common sense that maybe a Direct can happen in March, a week before the release of the new Kirby, with the new gold coins reward system and to celebrate Switch's first anniversary. And all of that said, Nintendo tends to be unpredictable.
No matter if a Direct happens, this will not convert him in a reliable source. Because a lot of people, giving the objective data, can think that a Direct can happen this week. But most of these people are cautious. And contrary to this Marcus guy, they will not spread information without a 100% confirmed source.
By the way, he has been writing tweets talking of a new direct in the last two months, none of them was truth. I know this, because I suffer his fake rumors each single day that I try to visit any Spanish web with my first coffee in the morning.
There's already YouTube videos talking about this direct rumor from Marcus. These people continue to enable him. Plus, they get views so that's the main reason they're doing it. Obviously, it's possible because they've made announcements on Wednesday, but this community I tell you...

Having worked in the "industry" myself and with a brother who worked in the movie top level VFX industry for 20 years you inevitably make connections and there's things you can say or hint to the community without anyone getting in trouble, that's all.

Not at all. Talk of Dark Souls Remaster was on this very forum for weeks before he ever made mention of it. He said it would be at a Dec. Namco event. It wasn't. He got the January Direct date wrong, got the contents of the Direct wrong. So your memory isn't only betraying you, it has created a timeline of pure fables.

Splatoon 2 actually does, believe it or not, but only in LAN mode. I know it's compatible with the jack, but I'm not sure about USB headests. Either way docked voice chat is a bit of an issue.
Spanish videogame community is huge but at same way too toxic. Over the years I've found plenty of Youtuber and Twitter users who basically just lurke around Reddit and ERA and then deliver what they read to their audience, knowing they don't speak English (teenagers mostly) and therefore don't know what ERA or Reddit is. And since they feel confident enough, they add extra info that they just made it up themselves. So yeah, never believe anything coming from Spain unless it's some kind of retailer.

Their site lists work on all versions of Fortnite, not on a specific port. They have been co-developing Fortnite for half a year now.

What Marcus Sellars does is 'rumormongering'. He goes out of his way to find 'rumors' on the internet and passes them off as his own. He doesn't care if the rumors are by some random person, if they were sent to him by someone unverified, or if they were even posted on sites like era or reddit first. He will read them, post them on his twitter, and pretend he was the first one to start that rumor.
The Dark Souls stuff was being rumored on Era by vern originally, then Marcus Sellars passed it off as his own leak. All of his 3DS leaks (which are false) are taken straight from 4chan. All of his other leaks are just taken from other people.
Even his most recent tweet about a Nintendo Direct on March 8th. He doesn't have a source, he just saw this tweet and copied it.

I wasn't sure if there was a history behind Vandel Leaks or not.
This is the first time I'm hearing his name. Not sure if he has any leak history. I guess we'll find out soon.
