I've only used Spotify to listen to the Black Panther album.
Funny enough I was listening to Wolf Alice while doing the test, and scrolling down my Foobar it goes:

Took awhile to get to a male artist there, I might be sexist against males.
Saw US Girls again last night, I don't really love her new sound as much as the Kankanee Memories stuff but I still like her new sound. She remains one of the nicest people in the industry though.
This thing seems wrong, unless it doesnt know what to do with bands that have a female vocalist but dudes on the instruments. Because almost 100% of my spotify plays are female vocals at minimum, yet the thing says 95% men 5% women.

Idk, means I might have a gender bias in music which is a problematic concept. It also means I'm not exploring enough music in the genres I like to give a better representation.

Yeah this thing is weird. I mean, my playlist from last year alone shows that I listened to more women lead artists and bands. IDK how actually accurate this thing is.
Stats are bogus. I have a playlist that's entirely female acts and I listen to it all the time and it gave me 100% men.

I only got 5% but I think I listen to more than that, also the equalizer is nothing like the music I listen to. Hard to find the sorta dark toned indie psychedelic trash I like already :c
I call 100% grade A bullshit. I got 70/30 men/women - aint no way that's possible. I have a main playlist that I use all the time - right now it has 83 tracks on it, with a wide range of decades. Does it only count DJ names and not the vocalist? I can see that tilting it slightly.

Also, I want to say that this so called "personalized playlist" made for me is radio rock at best and not reflexive of what I actually listen AT ALL. I mean, wtf is this?

Is there such a thing when it comes to music though? When I think of this I think specifically vocals and how having a preference over a certain type of vocals is like having a preference over a certain type of instrument or the way a certain type of instrument is used in a specific genre.
Having a gender bias in something you enjoy isn't a problematic concept by itself. Why having guilt over stuff like that?
I enjoy music with women as vocalist but prefer games designed by dudes, nothing wrong with that if I can still enjoy some songs singed by dudes or games designed by women.

That said, I vary my playlist intentionally throughout the year, with some parts being heavier on female vocalists/artist than others, but overall I'd guess probably 75/25 in favor of women. I've long had a thing for whatever you want to call the Tori Amos/Regina Spektor/Charlotte Martin/etc types, so a huge portion of my catalogue is that.

3% women, all I listen to is hip-hop with some EDM and R&B sprinkled in, so not surprising, and doesn't really bother me.
94% men vs 6% women. Doesn't seem right as I listen to a ton of female artists. Beach House, Feist, Bat For Lashes, Grimes, Daughter, The XX, FKA Twigs, Courtney Barnett, and the list goes on.
I don't use Spotify, but I remember there was a period a few years ago when I looked at my Google Play Music library and there was like two or three female vocalists on there.
It's a lot better now, and for music I actively listen to I'm probably closer to 50% these days. A lot of it comes down to a shift in music taste, some genres that just don't have that many female vocalists.

I mostly listen to electronic music. I'm guessing they only analyze the main artist and not count female artists singing on the track.
How are mixed bands handled? I really thought my percentages were more even.
