Really pessimistic about how satisfying air drumming could be. Hopefully it works fine. The more ways to play Taiko the better.
Yeah, the harder difficulty modes require really sensitive input detection, still hoping it works though!

Why have these games seemingly never come to the US before? Licensing for the music?
Bless the Switch being region free
Hopefully they will also have touch screen drumming like on the DS versions. (This time with multi-touch)Really pessimistic about how satisfying air drumming could be. Hopefully it works fine. The more ways to play Taiko the better.
One came out on PS2 in the USA.Why have these games seemingly never come to the US before? Licensing for the music?
Yes this needs to happen!I really hope there's an Asia version with English subs like Drum Sessions.
I'd assume it has traditional button and touchscreen controls like the previous handheld versions?
And it bombed so badly with it's oversize packaging Namco's been afraid to try again. It's too bad, I feel like Taiko would've had a good shot during Wii's casual boom.
You know, that would be a great opportunity for making a Labo pattern... If you make a cardboard taiko and some structure to protect the joycons you'd be able to play it easily as long as you don't beat the cons too hardYeah, the harder difficulty modes require really sensitive input detection, still hoping it works though!

True, it would be a really disposable piece... a cardboard casing coild provide at least some protection for the joycon so you're able to play it while beating on some sort of not so hard surface but I'm pretty sure you'd have to play a bit more casually :/Good point, but i don't think cardboard will survive the abuse for long. Perhaps some 3D printed mod could resolve this.
Imagine if we finally got Donkey Konga 3 as part of a collection with 1 and 2 in the US for switch.
Id be fine with that over Taiko.
Have they ever even tried to bring this series to the West?
Don't say "Donkey Konga", lol.
Ah, I see. I feel like this could be a modest success in 2018 as an eShop-only release though; especially since there are no peripherals needed for this one. There can't be that much text to translate.
I'm pretty sure the motion controls in the joycons are more advanced than what the Wii had available. ARMS is probably the best example, it's crazy precise and could never have worked with the OG Wii Remotes.
I wanted to get the vita game I recall but never did. Well I think I'll just bite the bullet and get it on Switch day one since these games never seen to drop in price that much.
The Switch really is turning out to be a gateway to series I never tried for me.
Yup.
