Oh okay and she was asking her bf out? I was confused and was thinking paper Boi was responding to her but it didn't look like he was typing.

You were right the first time -- He added her to a group chat and then they were blowing up paper boi's phone talking to each other because thats what people do on group chats for some reason

I don't get the gift card thing
Somebody mentioned credit card scam earlier. Probably has something to do with stolen credit cards being used to buy gift cards so they've still got the money even after the card's cancelled by the bank.

Though I dunno why he doubles his money in gift cards.

Edit: Double post.

They need to release a full album for the show. The Yoohoo and Black Bieber songs were both flames.

Another great episode, is it just me or is this season so far already better than the first one?

I swear I thought Earn was gonna get jumped for his 4K when Paper Boi was leaving the house to meet new dealers..

But Tracy ended up being cool, No chase policy got to be the best thing to come form this episode.

i love the film grain in this show

Yea production values are through the roof

I....I kinda like the acoustic cover of the Paperboi song. I get the joke, and I agree with the criticism made about the whitewashed acoustic covers of rap and R&B songs, but I still thought it was pretty good.

This show really depresses me, despite having amazingly hilarious moments in it. The ultimate dilemma it presents seems to be that you can either sell yourself out and dance on a board room table or stay true to yourself but poor and surviving from day to day. Every time you see Alfred doing this stuff he doesn't want to do I'm reminded of that guy who brought the chicken order to Alfred and Darius. He sounded like he'd damn near kill himself if he thought Alfred ever changed or sold out.

This show hasn't missed a beat so far.

Everything has been on point, imo especially the music selection. So happy to hear Death Grips and Flying Lotus tracks on this show.

Has Al ever shown himself to enjoy any aspect of being a rapper? He always seems like he doesn't want to do anything

disagree, it's not nearly as good as last season. There's a lot of bad acting and improbable circumstances that are weighing this down. It's trying too hard. Hopefully it improves going forward.

It's interesting because a few of the new wave of rappers have no real interest in rapping as a career. Lil Uzi's said as much during an interview with the Fader and I believe Vince Staples has expressed the same sentiment a couple times. To them, rapping is something they're good at but its not something they love.

You're out of your goddamn mind if you think I'm going to be doing this music shit for more than two more years. And let me really get some money? If I get some in the next six months, you never see me again."

This isn't the first time Staples has been asked about his future. Earlier this year, he spoke with Stereogum and said on the matter:

"I can't do this forever. If I'm speaking for a generation and I'm trying to get my point across to the youth about what I've been through, then what does that mean when I'm 40 years old, 45 years old, and I haven't done that already? Then I failed. Because I don't want the fame, the attention, or the notoriety; I want to have an impact on where I come from."
What do you mean?

"Oh, I'm already rewarded. I'm not dead and I don't live where I was born. I got to be able to move, so I'm already rewarded. Shit ain't for me."

What's not?

"This rap shit. I hate it."

So it's a curse that you're good at it?

"Yep. You wanna know what the curse is? I gotta take care of my family. That's the curse right there. I gotta take care of my whole family. That's why I can't stop. If I ain't have to take care of nobody, best believe I'd be regular as fuck."

But you'd still feel the need to create, wouldn't you?

"Yeah, I'd make babies."

Every episode of this show is fantastic. And I like the length too, it's perfect.

lol yeah, I get the issues with that kind of stuff, but I liked the cover. I'm there if they release a full version.

I mean, people will make covers of literally everything in every style, there's practically a rule 34 but for song covers

They never claim them as their own, as they always explicitly say cover or version so eh

99% of them trash but whatever

That shit was funny, but he might've been right. Who conducts interviews if they're fully staffed? that means you had an application for him to fill out probably online, called him to set up an interview, and then say that they have no openings at the moment.
I know you're banned but a lot of places do this, they hiring someone they're close to either by nepotism or cronyism. They've got the position filled but by law they must interview for it but people don't know it's taken.

I always figured in the last episode that guy is gonna kill Al. Because of some perceived betrayal.

Or is more probably just a funny little scene in of itsself.
