Yeah, somewhere a few episodes ago, the thought crossed my mind. Like, I think the May/Robin episode, I think Fitz mentioned a name (can't remember it, it was Deke's fathers friend, that tried to kill daisy). Like, the possibility that between the present and the future, while May, Robin, Fitz and Simmons are in the Lighthouse, maybe had They had a kid, who had that guy as a childhood friend.

I know that's a rambling paragraph. Guess I should rewatch that episode.

Beautiful. Amazing.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the best thing in the MCU. And it deserves another season. This cast is everything.

I teared up a number of times.

Bravo.

He was one of the guys on the plane watching over Daisy and Simmons when they were jacked into the Framework. One of the "recurring junior agents" along with Piper. I thought AIDA killed him but I guess he got better.

This adds up to a fun Doctor Who homage.

1) A crack in time.
2) A couple who meet their daughter...err grandson and don't know it
3) A leader who keeps resurrecting and getting a new life.

I approve.

With the talk of Daisy succeeding Coulson here I almost feel like we could get a cancellation and spinoff - shedding the SHIELD name but with Daisy as the centerpiece. Fitz and Simmons ride off into the sunset, same with Mack and Yo-Yo, Coulson makes a noble sacrifice, May... I dunno, takes up sewing. Then you get a "Quake and the Secret Warriors" spin-off that tries to skew a bit younger.

I guess that's actually more or less what the Marvel Rising cartoon is, though, so maybe not.

Best thing that helps is to watch it on ABC.com the next day. That adds up for their ratings count.
Watching it on Amazon Prime doesn't help the ratings.

Okay, a few random thoughts from this episode:
  • Really disappointed that they couldn't have Ward turn into Hive. Guess they'll have to fill the seasonal quota of Brett Dalton in another episode.
  • Was kinda hoping that the quinjet (spelling?) didn't open up and unveil a dozen Patton Oswalts. They could've kept Deathlock, but had everyone else be Oswalt.
  • Loved Fitz showing his darker framework self when he offered Piper as someone who could be sacrificed. Damn Fitz, you one stone cold son of a gun.
  • I swear some of you people here are either witches or employees of the show. We've had people here correctly guess the Deke (grand)parentage, Coulson making a deal having to do with him previously cheating death, the Yo-Yo as Kasius' slave, among several other theories that were proven correct. I'm onto all of you!

Can not believe this thing from a eh pilot went all the way to 100 episodes and the writing somehow elevated so damn high.

What a great episode, not a lot of action but some fantastic drama and great writing. My eyes got a little moist during the wedding, those two deserve it.

Hmm, they mentioned more Daisy Johnson sightings in other towns. Guessing we'll see the Daisy LMDs soon.

Still sad to see how so many dropped off so early. In my opinion, the first few episodes of Shield wasn't any worse than the first few episodes of Flash or Arrow. Those shows had an incredibly wonky first half also and really found its footing in its second half of its first season.

And now.... Well, they exist.

Legends is pretty great though.

A lot of shows start off slow.

I'll never understand some of the hyperbole in the first half of the first season, to be honest. Yes, it started off shaky. But honestly, "FZZT" was a great episode and was the moment I realized it was going to be something special.

I think it's worth keeping in mind that the first half of season 1 couldn't do anything too out there considering they had the events of Winter Soldier coming up. I found it enjoyable enough.

You're not rambling, he did mention that name (Voss or whatever it was). I found that weird but never gave enough attention to it.

I'm surprised so many people were surprised about Deke. The episode that took place on the Zephyr dropped several hints. I thought they might even reveal it by the end of that episode.
I don't know how accurate the Cancel Bear is but they're showing AoS as "likely to be renewed".
It's hit or miss. Sometimes something gets renewed for a reason they didn't take into consideration, and sometimes an assumed renewal also loses their spot for unanticipated reasons.

Like I said, a lot of us just kind of forgot all about when we were theorizing that. Not to mention it wasn't too long ago that we thought Deke wasn't coming with.

May is 51.

51.

My fiancee is so angry at that fact and she's 31.

I liked how Coulson joked about how young she looked

Can we just moved this to the new Disney streaming service instead on cancelling the show?
I feel like AoS could potentially do better on that platform.

I think that was the rumor. Disney ordered it renewed it for this season to move it to the streaming service next year

AoS is too good. We don't deserve it

Now for preview spoilers:

Bets on the new guy having the Voss surname?

Since I don't read cast lists that's probably not even news/real anymore though.

I audibly groaned at the "you're not really here" part. I hate when shows try that. Looking at you Buffy. Glad they didn't spend too long on it.

If that happens, I hope it remains a 22-episode weekly show. Not a "dump all at once" series.

Some shows work better week-to-week and it allows AoS to react to big MCU film events.

Gotta be honest, I wouldn't even be mad if that scene was the series ending. The explanations were so on point that I was fine if it was all a dream. But since there are more episodes coming it would be messy.

I don't know, man. I kind of hate how all of these companies want their own streaming services now, because I'm not subbing to 35 different services to watch shows. Like fucking CBS builds theirs around Star Trek Discovery yet gives it away to Netflix everywhere outside the US.

Can't ever agree. "It was all a dream" is my most detested trope ever. At best I can handle a single episode or something, but the entire show? Fuck that lol

I waited until the season was over and then binged it on a 3-day trial, which was fine. But the fact I had to do that is kind of irritating.

The thought of that is honestly horrifying. I like to sit down, watch my shows, and go about my day. Having to change apps or figure out which device gets whatever app.. good lord.

Yup.

Yeah, I'm so used to shows starting slow like my big sci-fi shows that generally take time to really get going even before these superhero shows that I was ready for it and still had fun with some of the first half and then like Freddy=Legend said, from Winter Soldier on, this show has been consistently good & at some points, genuinely great.

Yeah. There's gonna be way too many different ones. And on top of these, I've still got at least two anime ones to pay for with Funi and CR.

Soon there will be bundles of several services together and then hey, it'll be just like paying for cable packages anyway! There will have been so much progress we'll have come all the way around to where we started.
