Shield all-stars

They saved all the budget on the FX.

At least my memory of cosplay Dethlock is gone. New look is not bad

Good twist.

Definitely began to tear up a bit multiple times this episode. It's been such a long journey. Fitzsimmons finally getting married is so good.

I also groaned a bit at the whole "You're not really here" moment until I realized the show wasn't trying to make us think the show never really happened, but to be a character study on Coulson as to what he is truly afraid of: that none of what he aspired to be ever happened. That is truly terrifying. A life he never really lived.

Loved this episode. That Deke reveal was very well done as well.

Fuck, how they figure out this time loop shit better be good.

Fucking great episode. This show continues to be the best part of the MCU on the television side.

I've spent the last 2 seasons thinking this show was going to get canned at the end of the current season so I'm just going to assume we're getting a season 6 this time

Per the producers in an ew.com interview, the season finale is written as a series finale (that has enough of an opening to continue if they're renewed.)

Honestly after all the shit that they have been through over the 100 episodes. I don't mind them having no opening for a renewal but if they do get renewed, to go back to the monster of the week format for a while. It's just been so much torment and suffering for everyone that I want to aee them just being stable and happy again for a while. Everything's beenn on high gear for too long. I trust the writers enough to be able to do something well without tugging my heartstrings again because I want these characters to just be happy.

If it's over, I loved it. I'm really happy with how this show has gone. It's been a joy to watch, even when it wasn't at its best. It's come a long way from some of the original hyper-cheesiness. If it continues, I eagerly look forward to next season.

As someone who has stuck with this show since day 1, this was a great episode, I loved that they brought us full circle to the pilot.

Best guess? SHIELD. The ones that went into hiding when it fell, or were off doing other missions, or what have you. Would have been nice to see Bobbi and Hunter (again) though, too.
When they showed the guy with the face scar walking off the jet, I assumed he was someone important. But then he doesn't appear anymore. lol
I'm sure he's a S1 character that I just can't remember. lol

Nice for a 100th episode but wasn't really that good. Feels like they slowed to a crawl here. "Fear dimension" lol. I'll take some liberties with my comic book shows but come on. Coulson spilled the beans, Fitzsimmons got married, and SHIELD might be back? Or not?

Guess when the show is normally burning through at 100mph the slower episodes feel a little dull.

Edit: I also don't think Coulson left the dimension? Fitz little line about it being convenient that Mike showed up, supposedly just him being nervous for his wedding. I don't buy it. That episode ended too happily.

Loved Coulson coming clean to the team, and their reaction. Loved his discussion with J. August. Loved the wedding. So, yeah, all of the elements of the episode were great. The thing that tied it all together, however, was very weak. The whole 'fear dimension' thing made zero sense and was presented so poorly. At first I thought it was going to be a reason to revisit a lot of the hell the team had gone through...but a random Kree, Lash, and a pre-Deathlok Deathlok? And everything went down to a single shot? I think budget constraints killed what could have been a promising concept, and time constraints killed any depth. Of course, they didn't have the money to bring back their bigger stars, or to shoot a scene on Mavis, or have each character get confronted by their fear, but an episode designed to celebrate the series and they don't bring in Dalton? Really?

I can only assume (or hope) that they manage to bring him back for a bit of an arc later this season.

Clark Gregg is the MVP this episode. Some of the most powerful acting I've seen from him on this show.

Chloe, Ian, and Elizabeth all did great too but man, Coulson had some lines that were just a gut punch.

I really got to say, the writers, the cast, everyone on this show really does such a great job. It may just be a "superhero show" and not even a super serious, grounded kind, but they really have been able to put out some great television. That Bear McCreary score too. Whew. Last time the casts' acting and the score really got me on this show was when Bobbi and Hunter had their farewell episode.

The wedding made me happy to see how far the characters had came but I misinterpreted the twist at first and thought they were saying Fitz and Simmons were LMDs. That really upset me for a second thinking they had this happy moment were they finally get to be married and then we find out they had died a long time ago. I was relieved to find out it was about Deke.

Only issue with the 100th episode is now Ward. How do you not bring Ward back for it!

I didn't fully get what happened here. So is Deke not real? Or is this something we'll hopefully learn later?

We Stranger Things now? Fear Dimension? The Upside Down? Lol, that's the only part of the show that felt silly to me.

The rest of the episode was great though. Thank God Fitz and Simmons finally got married. Been a long time coming. The Deke reveal was really well done as well, but I suspected it for a while now.

I don't think Coulson will die either. The team will figure out some way to break the time loop while saving his life too...at least that's what I hope :'(

It couldn't have all been a dream simply because MCU storylines were talked about on the show that happened well after Avengers 1 such as the Sokovia Accords, Ultron and many others.

You don't want to start digging too deeply into Marvel's dimensions. There's a Punch dimension for God's sake.

Great episode and i love the show. If they do cancel it, I hope they at least leave an option for Netflix to pick it up.

Double Deathlok!

Favorite "is it a dream?" swerve is Total Recall and they got close to it but not as great. Does feel like the show is winding down though, everyone has their off ramp coming up and honestly feels like the right place to close it up. Excited to see where it goes.

The fake Deathlok tried to convince Coulson all of Agents of SHIELD was in his head, but Coulson didn't fall for it.

Everyone is real, don't worry about it.
I thought Coulson said this to Deke before he went down and saw Mike. Might have to rewatch.

It'll be a real shame when the series gets cancelled, that's got to be one of the best episodes they've ever done. Really top tier acting, it's amazing to think about when you compare it with where they were in season 1.

For a guy who's never used a phone before, Deke's phone game was on point with that receiver on shoulder tech.

I know they're wanted by the Air Force or whatever, but the Lighthouse is dangerous as shit GTFO of there dudes! I'd take my chances with some suits rather than being eaten alive by my own fears.

Something that just came to my mind: Who were the military dudes that helped Enoch capture the agents in the diner?

At that time it just seemed like it was some kind of backdoor shady government deal going on but considering Enoch's role as an alien observer it makes me wonder why he had an armed squad at his disposal.

It's probably just some mercenaries he hired

Didn't one them talk about how busy he would be this time of year too? I don't remember the exact wording but it did seem like it was hinting at something more sinister.

Can't ever agree. "It was all a dream" is my most detested trope ever. At best I can handle a single episode or something, but the entire show? Fuck that lol

I like how this episode was about manifesting everyone's fears, and managed to put in a fear of the viewers too.

Yeah, the show was pretty explicit that the entire franchise wasn't a dream. Mariolee perfectly expresses what the episode was about

Shoutout to them getting a Grant Ward cameo in there without needing to actually book Brett Dalton. Bet they're glad they kept that spare cthulhu facemask around so they could slap it on an extra.
