This is Capcom - nowadays they usually reveal games (at least RE ones, dunno about other franchises) few months before the release. Just be patient.

I wonder what's taking them so long, it's been years and we've still seen nothing.

Likely exploring many different variations to see what works best. It wouldn't surprise me if there are First Person, OTS, and fixed camera slices of gameplay in existence internally. May even be substantial builds of them depending on how far they decided to pursue a route.

Plus trying to factor how to handle the scenarios and possible online features.

My current speculation on RE2make and why it might be at the Xbox E3 now

Was contemplating making a thread. But instead I'll just bump this thread. As always this is only my hunch and is nothing more than a theory.

Currently Capcom is in Washington visiting the Xbox team(s). As you can see above.
Now there's two more pieces that make this interesting. Firstly the RE series producer is the one visiting

Secondly, MS is apparently doing E3 prep

There's only one RE title we know of that should be releasing in the next year. Which is RE2make. So it's possible that the reveal or demo of the game could be related to the Xbox stage this year.

However, could also be related to the new Inside Xbox show. The same Dev1 Twitter seemed to tease an RE7 related interview soon. So this could be related to finally getting the Xbox One X patch on PC.

Interesting stuff to think about regardless.

I can see that happening.

But dammit I don't care at this point, just give me something RE related, I'm dying here.

I think any RE title being timed will never happen. Most I can see are game modes such as how RE7 VR was exclusive. Whatever company would have to pay a ton to get it at this rate.

Xbox got marketing for RE5.
Xbox got Marketing and timed exclusive RE6 DLC.
Xbox got Marketing and forever exclusive mode in ORC (best mode too!!!)
PS got marketing and VR (timed?) for RE7.

Not sure on Rev 2.

Hope they don't do timed or exclusive stuff with RE2.

You've got yourself some trouble there if it does end up an Xbox timed exclusive, but I don't see that happening. Also, I could see Sony really fighting to have it at their E3 show as people do usually associate the series, or at least RE2, with the PlayStation brand, even though, interestingly enough, none of the games have ever been exclusive to a Sony platform, at least the mainline games anyway (correct me if I'm wrong).

Thinking about it, growing up I only owned RE3 on PS1, the rest I got on Dreamcast and GameCube. I also think RE7 is the first Resident Evil game I've bought at launch on a PlayStation console since RE3.

I guess for me, I grew up owning most of the series on Sega and Nintendo consoles. Although, even though that is the case, I'd say I still associate the original games with PlayStation more.

Maybe they will show RE2 Remake in the Xbox conference and DMC5 in the Sony conference, but it would be really strange, "The remake of the popular game for PS- I mean, the remake of the second Resident Evil, guys"

I feel marketing wise everyone thinks ps1 whrn they think of older resident evil. It would only make sensr that when they say its back that they'll probably do it at a sony conference for the nostalgia sake. Then again who knows what capcom has planned. Theyre rolling in it after monster hunter came out.

I just remembered, although I think of Playstation whenever RE comes up, my very first contact with the franchise was the Sega Saturn version.

US PlayStation is having a RE sale on PSN.
REmake/RE0 (PS3) and Rev 2 (vita) are their cheapest yet at $6 bucks each. For any collectors wanting the other versions.

Take note that REmake and RE0 share the same trophy list as the PS4 versions though. So if say you have the plat in REmake you can't get it again on PS3

Yes, they have cancelled production on all Resident Evil related games and are now 100% focused on Dino Crisis.

It's fake. The rumor getting into the team discussing Claire's face and CVX bring her true face is all you need to know that it's fake.
I'm talking about that

That bad huh lol.

Thanks man :)

So this is different from the one I saw. But I wouldn't put much stock into this one either.
From what i've heard RE2make is still on track. So we'll see if that stays the case.
I've heard nothing about Viewtiful Joe 3, but capcom has oddly been pushing the character a bit more lately.
Regardless, I don't think the game restarting production. That would mean everything RE shifted and that RE8 which is planned for 2020 would be even further.
(Since the main team is working on RE2make).

So no outsourcing to Tose?

I hope we see the game this E3, but its hard to believe that we will going to see both DMC5 and RE2 Remake in the same day.

Not that i'm aware of. Possible there's some miscommunication and they're helping with assets or maybe DLC. Someone heard murmurs and assumed it was the whole project starting over.
It would be odd to get both games at the same E3. Especially at the same conference but you never know. Odder things have happened after all.

Which do you think has more chances to be at E3?

DMCV for sure. From what we know that game has been in dev longer than RE2make and was even supposed to be shown last year.
Right now i'm guessing that RE2make however has a larger dev team. So it has essentially "caught up" to DMCV.
Right now the only new game Capcom has for the rest of the year is Megaman 11. Which I doubt they'll use as a holiday tent pole. Especially since
it's supposed to be a budget title.

My guess is on RE2make in Sept or Nov (They won't mess with October it's too packed). Since it's the larger IP and can handle the holidays.
DMCV will be Jan 2019 and get a big push since much like RE7 and MHW. It'll be the only big game worth buying in Jan & Feb.

Anyone knows why Capcom ported Revelations 1 and 2 to the Switch instead of Remake and 4? Sorry if I'm port begging, but I'm trying to get my twin sisters back into gaming and Resident Evil 4 is the game that turned them into gamers back during the Gamecube (I'm pretty sure they've played it more than I am, and I played it to death)

I feel like they will at some point, I would be very shocked if they didn't, especially RE4. It has to be ported to every possible gaming platform out there, it's the rules.

Man I loved this thread here and the old place but because of that REmake2 thing it just hurts lol,
Every time I see it bumped im like "today ain't gonna be the day"

I set myself up for it and it has ruined me.
