I think its intended to be more about the open world and free choices (like uniforms). So it ended up being more about seeing what they'd do next with the pixel art, which was still pretty interesting. They've made all their assets available too which is always nice!

I played the demo a while ago. I should really get around to playing the final game.

EDIT: "Don't use your save files from the previous demos." Well that was expected. Probably shouldn't have played the full v0.2 demo if I knew that. Comments below, added as I go.
* Though things are pretty different from the start, with a lot more scenarios.
* Music for the Pie Sisters is pretty neat, though it being mismatched for the part being referenced is a bit odd.
* I've gotten the visuals of the game to freeze by switching back and forth between it and Firefox/Discord. Only solved by closing and opening the game again.
* Trixie's boss seems different, but maybe I'm misremembering.
* Weird, levels aren't the same between uniforms, though they're still going up in levels when I'm not wearing them.
* Reached areas that weren't in the v0.2 demo.
* The healing from the timberwolf pups is super annoying, holy crap. Funny how you should take them out before the adult timberwolves.
* Alright, stopped for the day after the Big Mac section. One big issue with the game is how it encourages fighting one enemy, then backtracking to Dinky to heal, and continuing on.

Yeah, that was weird. Though I'm glad uniforms gain experience, um, uniformly instead of individually.

That's what I did too at the start but I think even losing a battle isn't all that bad anyway. But you can get pretty powerful pretty quick so going back to Dinky isn't needed as much.

Some configurations I've used to do this:

Equip Crystal Princess Stamp and Sun Princess Stamp (later replaced by the Shadowbolt Stamp).

Use a uniform that uses HP for abilities instead of MP like Construction Worker or Magician's Assistant (with Confetti). Let the Crystal Princess Stamp recover the lost HP for you.

Use Derpy's Friends for healing. This still drains their MP but not nearly as much. In the odd cases you have it, Theorize also helps.

Speaking of backtracking. You also have to backtrack if you leave a stamp on a friend and a lot of the time you don't have a chance to remove the stamp after a boss fight. I almost thought I lost that stamp permanently after the first run.

Yeah, but it's still kind of grindy up until you steamroll everything. And I did notice how strong the strategy of using health-based special attacks and healing was.

Just realized, the game does depend on some "fanon" that you may not be familiar with. Most importantly, Derpy is often depicted as a struggling single mother taking care of her responsible daughter, Dinky.

Well, regulars were busy, so the stream didn't happen. There are only two more streams before the starts of episode premiere streams, so I won't be repeating this next week, instead having Discord Day. The week after that will be streaming the Movie.

We did have the RP, though. Last one before the two-part finale.
RP 12 - Tangerine World 7 - My Little Ponies Go to Jail

Cappy - Twilight
Rhomega - Pinkie

Story
In the time since the last adventure, the worry about dimensional instability causing more transfers didn't pan out... except for Fluttershy, who got sent over like 50 more times. However, Spike, Twilight, and Pinkie then find themselves in a jail cell in Tangerine World. Their cellmate is Clementine, the orange filly, who messed up and sold orange lootboxes after they were made illegal. Despite her panic, she's only there for a day to scare her. Across the hall is Lady Rarity of Tangerine World.

Twilight calls for the guard, and in comes Starlight Glimmer. Or rather, Sunset Shimmer, as she's called there. She still goes by Glim Glam. Sunset agrees to go check if they're really supposed to be there. Soon after she leaves, a rock is tossed into their cell saying they're going to break them out. The message was actually intended for Party Favor in the next cell.

Fluttershy (Cuddlestrike) flies up to the window of Lady Rarity's cell, saying she was asked by her cat, Opal, to come save her. She's having small squirrels and mice dig a hole out. The other breakout has nothing to do with her.

Suddenly, time skips forward a few minutes and everyone has already broken out (except Party Favor). This is an effect of the dimensional stability. Sunset comes back and demands they help track the escaped prisoners. Twilight intimidates Party Favor into giving the location of the rest of his group, which includes Sugar Belle. Having determined their location, and thus Clementine, they decide to focus their attention on finding Lady Rarity and Cuddlestrike Fluttershy.

Investigating the hole Rarity escaped through, they determine the animals messed up and made the hole out too small and instead collapsed the floor enough for Rarity's bed to fall a level below. The heroes go down and follow two mice toward Rarity. They come across a guard completely lovestruck, confirming Rarity was there. Continuing, they find another guard in a closet, tied up and with armor removed.

Downstairs, they find Lady Rarity pretending to be a guard. When they confront her, Rarity yells that she spotted Lady Rarity and leads guards outside, splitting them up to search for her. Twilight is able to stop her, and at this point, Cuddlestrike Fluttershy pops up out of a tree. Before they start fighting, Twilight is able to talk them down, convincing them to act against the Everfree Forest and they have the power to stop it. Fluttershy finds herself drawn to Sunset and agrees to help if she's the one guarding her. Rarity returns her armor, better than it was before, and she glows with generosity.

Guards are sent to retrieve Clementine, just as she was about to convince Sugar Belle and her love, Dr. Cabelleron, to give up their life of crime.

Princess Moon (Trixie) and Dr. Pie arrive and say that they'll be ready to journey into the Everfree Forest in a week. With that, the heroes return to their own dimension.

It looks like the hedgehog things are parasprites 2.0. Funnily, they resemble the not!parasprites that appeared in an episode of Tangled (which I didn't particularly like).

Finally getting around to rewatching S7.

E1: Kind of a nothing episode. Twilight's mini-freakouts feel a bit laboured, and Celestia does a lot less than she could.
E2: I like this one a lot. Glimmer and Trixie are such a fun double-act, and I like Spike as the straight man. Fun song in the B-story too.
E3: This one is quite fun too. Reminds me a bit of Baby Cakes, though now it's Twi's turn to suffer. Some slightly iffy conclusions towards the end, but enjoyable overall.

Oh, and Sigma, I won't be able to do any guide stuff for the moment as I've upgraded to a new PC and I'm not able to move my Adobe software over. I can hook you up with the PSDs if you like.

Surprised to see someone prefer "A Flurry of Emotions" over "Celestial Advice", but as someone who likes the former more than most here, I get it. I still prefer the imagination sequences of the former, though. "All Bottled Up" is indeed the best of the three.

Follow up on the Death Battle. They get started with actual information around 4:23. They mention that before the episode aired, people in the comments were expecting a ton of salt from bronies, but instead, everyone was accepting of the result. They even went to Equestria Daily, and it was the same there. 13:00 - They set the fight in the library so they could burn something down. 16:00 - Applejack is just a horse. 20:00 - People have been sending them evidence that Twilight is lightspeed, because in the Movie, she reacts to sunlight a few frames before it hits her. Questions end around 30:00.

Ponified 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons, Planeshift: Equestria. The name actually comes from the Magic: the Gathering based DnD books.

The end is coming... but not quite yet.

The season 8 premiere of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic shakes things up more than ever. Following the events of My Little Pony: the Movie, Twilight and the others realize that they are meant to spread the magic of friendship beyond the borders of Equestria, and to this end, they open the School of Friendship. Students include not just ponies, but also changelings, dragons, griffons, hippogriffs, and yaks. However, in a season premiere that 4chan hot takes have described as, "WTF is this anti-Trump shit?!" the heroes have to deal with ponies that are uncomfortable having a school where all species are invited.

Starting on March 24, new episodes will air every Saturday at 11:30 AM ET on Discovery Family. They're usually put on iTunes the next day. Seasons 1-7 can be found on US Netflix.

Also ongoing is the Equestria Girls YouTube series, which has a new short every Friday.

Canonically, this is the same Belle Eve as before, but her design changed through a spacetime warp, possibly caused by a website collapsing. Though the color scheme is reminiscent of ResetEra, we elected not to make her cutie mark the site's logo.

I didn't mind the imagination sequences, but the premise overall feels thin to me. It's like they wanted a "Twilight Freak-Out" episode but couldn't think of a good way to achieve it. I think the idea of Twilight stressing over Starlight's future could've been done in a less gimmicky way.

Watched Rock Solid Friendship tonight, which is obviously one of the best episodes of the season. The whole "You're kidding... right? / ...am I?" exchange is one of the funniest things this show has ever done.

Nah it's clearly Belle Eve from the 5th generation of MLP, travelling between worlds into this generation to hang out until the next one comes around.

I felt like the biggest problem was that they realized that a bunch of people were wondering "hey what happens to Starlight now" so they tried to make an episode to answer that question, but then they realized that they didn't know either so nothing really happens.

Also if there's one thing the most recent stuff has been good for it's Twilight freakouts so don't worry, you'll have plenty more to look forward to.

That isn't even scratching the surface! Season one of the show resulted in all kinds of crazy fan ideas for background characters.

You remember the focus characters of "Slice of Life", the episode about background characters? They weren't arbitrarily chosen. In fact, they were the biggest background characters to come out of season one, to the point they were nicknamed the Alternate Mane Six. (image)

Their depictions in the episode riff off of their fan depictions, but some go in pretty different directions from there. DJ-PON3, most notably, has the real name of Vinyl Scratch and is actually a wisecracking loudmouth in fanon, as opposed to canon, where she's mute. Lyra has an obsession with humans and especially hands in fanon. Doctor Hooves started as just a straight up ponified Doctor from Doctor Who, including owning a TARDIS and fighting Daleks. Bon Bon was actually "the boring one", with people trying to introduce interesting qualities but none sticking, so her being a secret agent was a complete invention of the show.

I can't think of any background characters even in season 2 that got anywhere close to the same fan attention as these six. Maybe Fleur de Lis, the pony who hangs out with Fancy Pants (image, ignore the caption), who is often depicted as a secret agent, but she's still far from their level.

Interview with Andy Prince (IDW artist) all about MLP and the fandom. It's pretty interesting. The way he got into the show is that, as he put it, he caught his wife watching an episode. They gave it three episodes, and two of them were "The Ticket Master" and "A Dog and Pony Show". The stage interview ends at 15:25, and then they talk to him at Artist Alley at Emerald City Comic Con for the rest of the podcast. His most common art requests are for OCs. Interestingly, a common request is Fluttershy with that person's pet. He mentions the cover from the first comic arc with Chrysalis looming over the heroes with creepy green goo everywhere, and though the higher-ups were concerned that it was too scary, that was actually one of the most popular covers with kids. Toward the end, he switches to talking about the history of cons in general. He mentions at around 50:00 that MLP is IDW's highest selling comic, which I suppose is taking into consideration Book Fair sales and such too, since it isn't at that level just looking at Diamond Distribution singles sales.

It being at the top means Sonic Meets My Little Pony is a when and not an if, I suppose.

I read Silver Quill's review of Friends Forever #19 (Rarity and the Cakes) and... I don't remember this issue at all. I definitely bought it, but I'm looking at all these panels and these cute dresses and designs and I can't remember reading them. I do remember the gist of the story, that Rarity messes up and the Cakes don't do anything until the end when they save the day, though.

Very brief MLP reference on Colbert's Late Show, with him joking that Sam Nunburg also called into a rerun of FiM.

I haven't seen that stock art in a long time... long time...

So Zecora's potions are considered spells and Starlight used time travel in "Uncommon Bond". Well, that last one doesn't make much sense.

Well 5 new EQG shorts released on the Discovery Family Go app. And part one of Forgotten Friendship is up on YouTube.

So far finished the first 3 episodes of FiM season 7.

I quite enjoyed them, so far.

All Bottled Up: I couldn't help but burst out laughing when Bull Biceps and Granny Smith absorbed Starlight's anger smoke. Trixie's reactions throughout that scene where priceless, especially when some of those scenes happen in the middle of the song. The side story involving the Mane Six wasn't too bad, but wasn't as engaging as the main story. I commend how much Trixie has developed ever since befriending Starlight and helping her out in rescuing the main heroes.

A Flurry of Emotions: This was honestly a cute episode. I enjoyed the momonets with Shining Armor and Cadence, such as how worn out they looked at the beginning (especially SA's baby talk) and when the art starts making them terribly miss Flurry Heart near the end.

Then there is the main story, where just about everyone making an "Oh crap" face is gut-busting! Though I gotta be surprised how smart FH and the Cake Twins seem smarter than they look; it's a cartoon, so gotta go with it. Though I felt genuinely bad when Twilght finally cracks and scolds FH for the incident she caused in the hospital. Honestly I sort of die connect with Twilight in this episode, being an uncle myself and having to sometimes babysit my niece; she was a real handful, but not as much. The fact that Twilight accidentally scared FH with her scolding, makes me genuinely hesitant to scold my niece myself.

All in all, they were enjoyable episodes for me. Don't really have much of a comment on Celestial Advice other than getting to know to more about Celestia before Twilight moved to Ponyville and it contributing to Twlight making a decision for Starlight.

That episode was great for Trixie. She's just so much more fun when she's actually happy. With the Mane Six plot, I enjoyed seeing everyone just going out and having fun, and the song was really catchy.

Yes, another person who likes "A Flurry of Emotions"! A lot of people don't like baby based humor, but I thought it was cute, and it was nice to see Shining Armor and Cadance like that.

Yeah, you have to be careful with that, since you can't be sure they made a connection between the bad thing they did and the scolding, and even if they do, they might get scared of you in particular. Parenting is tough.

I felt like the Mane 6 storyline was kinda nonsense and didn't really fit well with the main storyline. I guess they were trying to draw some parallels with how it's important to be honest with your friends and work with them, but it felt like an advertisement for escape rooms for me instead.

Audio books for some of the Movie tie in books. From the comments, the reader, Tracey Petrillo, is actually pretty good at imitating the pony voices.

About part 1 of "Forgotten Friendship" (or "Sunset Shimmer's Saga: A Friendship to Remember", or "Most Likely to Be Forgotten"), here's what was cut out of this part of the TV airing, from an ED comment.

So far this part contains the following extra scenes:

-A title card and a establishing shot of the school with the CMC
-There is an extra shot of the memories flying towards the school.

Only about 12 seconds of extended footage.

Indeed, that first bit with the CMC is only like a second, but it makes a pretty big difference in pacing compared to how the TV movie version just goes straight into the song. I imagine all of the time edits will be like that. This part ends with Sunset reading SciTwi's mind and going, "It's like I've been... erased!" which is where the TV version had a commercial break. There's now a "To Be Continued" card.

Continuing from Flurry of Emotions, yeah I know for a fact parenting isn't easy. Kids are definitely a handful, especially in the early years. And indeed the side story with the Mane 6 did give me the impression that it was an escape room. My younger sister actually tried one of those recently.

Interesting thing is that the episode does remind me of why I enjoy FiM; some things just connect to me.

I did a couple with my family, they're pretty nice for teambuilding so it makes sense Twilight would like them, although I feel like the Mane 6 probably wouldn't need them, or if Twilight was going to do something like that she would probably invite Starlight.

Actually, maybe Button Mash counts? Not really background but very litte total screen time. Probably still has less fanwork than those six despite the animation and C&D.

I distinguish background characters from those who actually played roles in their episodes. There's some sense of fandom ownership with Derpy and Doctor Hooves and such, since fans defined basically everything about them, which isn't true with Pipsqueak. When looking at characters that played minor but significant roles in episodes, Coco Pommel (and Pinkie's non-Maud sisters, but we saw them season 1) is a big example of characters that gained and still have a lot of fan attention, but still, nothing besides what's shown in the show has stuck to them as fanon, really. Then when looking at characters that played significant roles in one story but haven't really appeared since, there's of course Chrysalis in season 2 until she returned in season 6. The other big ones are Moondancer and the Dazzlings from Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks. There are several others, but I think they're all a tier below them.

As for Button Mash, good call. Though I feel like it was really just JanAnimations pushing him after a certain point, and now that he's stopped, he's fallen by the wayside. I still see Button's Mom pop up every once in a while, though.

The first 20 or so seconds are drawn in the usual art style, and it transitions to the alternate art style by showing Celestia drawing on the chalkboard.

The other shorts like this use alternate art styles too, BTW.

Summary
The increasing dimensional instability has ironically led to the next transfer being more predictable. Everyone prepares for the final push into the Everfree Forest, getting into position, but only Fluttershy, Rainbow, and Spike go to Tangerine World. They meet up with the TW Mane Six and exchange introductions. The Everfree Forest has now expanded enough to cover Canterlot, which was evacuated.

Dr. Pie of TW explains the plan. The TW Mane Six can activate their Elements to protect them as they travel through the Everfree Forest, and they can then freely go to the center.. Only four are needed for this, so two can take breaks and thus be available for conversations. TW Twilight of the Wonderbolts also helped Dr. Pie create a magic absorption device when attempting to make a magic scanner, just like in Equestria Girls: Friendship Games. That will be a backup if harmony magic doesn't fix things. TW Twilight expresses uncertainty over her own Element of Magic/Friendship, since she isn't sure of the friendship between the TW Mane Six. The players got advice from their Twilight to encourage friendship between the ponies as they walk to their goal.

They first talk to TW Rarity and TW Fluttershy, learning their current situations. Rarity briefly explains the political situation, that Pinkie's science team and Twilight's Wonderbolts aren't trustworthy. In particular, she learned that the Wonderbolts wanted to use the chaos caused by the Everfree Forest to conquer the deer; that's part of why she acted when she did to disrupt relations, to act before then. The players swap out TW Fluttershy for TW Twilight, and are able to confirm she didn't know about any of this. After this, they get along and become friends.

Then they talk to TW Applejack and TW Pinkie. Since the lootbox experiment failed, Applejack learned that she needs to let apples be apples and make them big that way. Pinkie suggests she could get Princess Trixie Lula Moon to promote apples in morally questionable ways. They decide to make an apple pie together soon, and thus become friends.

Finally, they talk to TW Rainbow to see if she dislikes anyone, and answers Fluttershy, because she thinks she's dirty. They're approaching the source of the Everfree Forest's problem, so Spike rushes a solution, making Rainbow smell Fluttershy's hair. It turns out Fluttershy isn't dirty and even uses a shampoo that Rainbow likes, so they become friends.

There are many small details about how the characters view each other being left out here.

At the center, they hear a voice happy that someone has come. Dr. Pie's readings prove her theory that the source of the problem is a being from a third dimension, besides the normal one and Tangerine World. This being turns out to be a fusion of Discord, Fluttershy, and the Tree of Harmony. In short, in their world, they use the Elements to seal foes right into the Tree of Harmony. When doing this with Discord, there was a problem, and Fluttershy had to force Discord into the Tree with herself. The lashing magic opened a hole between dimensions, sending them to Tangerine World, where their magic intermingled with the Everfree Forest.

The solution is to purify the chaos magic with their harmony magic, and the TW Mane Six use their powers to do so. However, this takes time, and the chaos magic creates three agents to attack them, which the players fight off. However, a broken pair of sunglasses distracts TW Pinkie enough that she feels the need to use the magic absorption device backup plan. This works and the third dimension Fluttershy is freed. Fluttershy 3 thanks them and she, along with the now-statue Discord and Tree of Harmony, go back home.

Everything goes back to normal, with the Everfree Forest shrinking and becoming less dangerous. Things look good, but TW Pinkie isn't satisfied with how things will turn out after this. On a whim, she decides to use the chaos magic inside the absorption device, transforming into an alicorn. She decides things need changing around there, but first, she sends the players back to their home dimension, placing a dimensional lock to prevent them from coming back.

Back home, Twilight realizes that with the time jump of a few minutes back in the jail, last story, the two dimensions weren't quite in sync. If she used the forced dimensional transfer spell, the dimensions will resync, and they'll be sent a few minutes back, before the lock was placed. She then activates it and opens a portal back.

And Sunday's Discord Day stream went pretty well, with three viewers max at a time, but people came in and out. Spreadsheet with every episode. The episodes were:
1. The Return of Harmony part 2
2. Discordant Harmony
3. Three's a Crowd
4. The Return of Harmony part 1
5. Japanese The Return of Harmony part 2 (select clips)
6. Make New Friends But Keep Discord

I keep forgetting just how much fun "The Return of Harmony" is, particularly part 2, and just how many memes came out of the episodes, including Screwball (the purple pony who flies by while Twilight is sad-walking). Jerk Fluttershy continues to be the best. I was reminded of how clips from the two parter were used in promos for season 2 on The Hub, particularly Celestia opening the closet with the Elements of Harmony. The sequence of Twilight being healed by reading her own friendship reports is still great, and was mind blowing back in the day. I had forgotten how the CMC appear in the beginning of part 1, then never appear again, even when they go to Applejack's farm.

"Discordant Harmony" was a pretty big contrast from the previous episode. I had actually rewatched the episode on Saturday night (just how it worked out), but it was still good watching it again so soon. The parts without Fluttershy are certainly steps down, but even if they're dragged out an repetitive, they're still fun enough to watch. But holy crap, Fluttershy is insanely adorable in this episode. For some reason, the part that sticks out to me the most is when Fluttershy is talking to her reflections and she says, "Hi Fluttershy!" What would have really pushed this episode over the edge is if she sang along with the ginseng at the end like it seemed like she was about to.

"Three's a Crowd" was middle of the road, though the way Discord visual gags are handled are better than "Discordant Harmony". I forgot the Breezies came up here.

With Japanese "The Return of Harmony", it should be noted that Discord has the same VA as Buggy the Clown from One Piece (along with tons of other roles stretching back to the 70's) and he's pretty good. One disappointment is that the Discorded Mane Six aren't that impressive. We do get to see a good jerk Fluttershy from her VA in "Putting Your Hoof Down", though.

Last was "Make New Friends But Keep Discord". Oddly everyone, including me, had forgotten a lot of what happened in that episode. It was still great. And seriously fan artists are sleeping on Twilight's dress from this Gala. That bow is adorable.

The "Discord" video was that silly live action music video with some guy in a hoody messing with people in petty ways, which I think is funny. Discordantly is a newer video, but it's based on an old comic, hence it providing a contradictory origin story for Discord. The voice actor is pretty good, and the art is nice. Similarly, the actor and art are good in "The Contract" too. In contrast, "Something Fantastic" before those had a good Fluttershy singer but the Discord wasn't even trying. The last video is supposed to be Baby Discord, but it makes much more sense as his and Fluttershy's son. It's cute, but it's rough at points, particularly the lack of sound when Baby Discord and Angel collide.

Well there the big G5 leak, and in intentional releases, there were all the EQG shorts--though those ended up getting not-ideally released in batches. And there's been all the community events, with the streams and RPs.

Because of that, it definitely doesn't feel all that long at all.

Aw... Baby Turtles - The animation for Tank walking slowly was unique for this show, I think. Tank leading the turtles is cute. As pointed out in the chat, the ship is the one from "PPOV".
X Marks the Spot - Sunset playing a mobile game on the beach, SMH. The video game animation for them searching is cute. Thought for sure the rainbow would be Rainbow. This was alright.
Lost and Found - Damn, with this and the previous shorts, this beach looks dirty and unappealing as hell. This was eh.
Unsolved Selfie Mysteries - Sunset being a gamer and now being obsessed with cryptids just doesn't seem to fit. And she's also a master artist. It really feels like they keep piling random things on her. Oh hey, Sunset took off her sarong. Timber appears just to hide behind SciTwi. Huh, they used the same "Fluttershy is a sea monster" gag from "Forgotten Friendship".
Too Hot to Handle - Huh, so Rarity apparently likes crabs, unlike fanon where she's in constant war with them. Still, I don't get it, a crab fashion show? This was eh too.

Just realized, part 1 of "Forgotten Friendship" is out in Japanese too. Opening is bad. Sunset's song was dubbed, and it's pretty alright. Until the end when it sounds kind of weird. Wallflower sounds like a background character... which I guess fits, but it doesn't really match her English voice. Trixie fits, as she did in the show's dub. Stopped there.

By the way, this is a good opportunity to compare views for the different language versions.
English has 419K
Latin America (Spanish) has 56K
Brazil has 29K
Spain has 27K
Russia has 21K

And the others are in the single digits (of multiples of 1000), including Japan, which only has 3.8K. This goes to show that EQG is especially popular in Latin regions, and this indeed matches up to what we see with fan art. There's even an entire Spanish EQG fan animation community that didn't get too much exposure in the English community until recently. Russia is more of a surprise, but they do produce a lot of pony content in general.

The Salty Sails - This took a surprising amount of time to get going. I was expecting some connection to "PPOV", but it just sort of used similar gags. I did smile at the gag with Rarity's hat, but it was kind of annoying we got season one style Twilight not using magic for no reason. This was alright.

It's kind of weird they would use Zephyr again without explaining what his deal is in this world. Does he go to school with them? Is he still Fluttershy's younger brother? Is he only a year younger than her in this world? Why's he still the college dropout sort if he's in high school?

Huh, this is the first time the EQG mirror has appeared in something animated that's otherwise pony only. And yeah, a ton of these things have shown up.

This is neat. The Legends of Magic covers without any text. Plus one other.

Finally back to reading Long Road to Friendship., though I've only gotten up to chapter 20.

* Not particularly a fan of Sunset being a fighting master.
* Chapter 17, the Halloween party, was fun, and that part at the end with Sunset falling asleep in Twilight's arms was cute. Having Twilight request that Sunset have good dreams was a clever workaround.
* Artemis Lulamoon is a fun enough character, but I don't like him being actually magical, at least in the sense that he pops up right when Sunset needs help specifically to help her.

And I've completed the PonyEra episode guide, other than the shorts section! Although Google Docs has an outline, which allows you to jump to any section, 67 pages is still a lot. That made me think it might be best to have a simple image guide accompanying it that just has the information on the episode title line (title, if there's a song, characters) without any episode descriptions or images (or just one per season) or any Equestria Girls stuff. It would include a shortened URL to the full guide, and a link in the image description (if on a site that allows that). PaulloDEC , I think that would be better than creating a full image version of the guide.

Yeah, that reveal throws off just about everyone. You get used to it as the characters persist, but there's an adjustment period.

Aw....Baby Tutles: How does Fluttershy not know where the sound is coming from? And would Tank know if Fluttershy didn't? And I feel like given where they were at Rainbow could have found them super quickly just by running fast. IMMERSION BROKEN..... Other then that pretty cute but also pretty insubstantial. Who's giving those crabs their knives though?

X Marks the Spot: Wait, why is Twilight making a sand version of Spike? That's more important then anything else in this short. Does that sushi truck have a ton of bottles and chests around the beach leading them to her truck? I feel like if she keeps doing that someone should yell at her for littering. Episode itself is kinda meh, some neat animation but not much else.

Lost and Found: Probably my favorite one so far. Largely because it's just fun listening to Rarity and Ashleigh Ball. Would have much rather Rarity had just been happy with the one Rainbow gave her as a symbol of their friendship or something.

Unsolved Selfie Mysteries: Wish Timber would interact with literally any other character besides Twilight for once. It's alright.

Too Hot to Handle: Who adopts crabs? Also Pinkie is a menace. How is everyone else able to stand on the beach but Pinkie is not? Surely there's at least one other person on the beach not wearing sandals, which magically disappear after she takes off her costume. The big thing though is that Pinkie is a menace. Also maybe Rarity is giving the crabs their knives

The Salty Sails: Apparently Rarity has Twilight's power of levitation now? And Twilight doesn't use it to levitate her map that gets blown away? Pinkie's really weird in this, and yeah Twilight does nothing despite being fully capable of dealing with the situation herself.

Blue Crushed: Rainbow X Zephyr confirmed. Kind of expected but not the worst.

Not a terrible selection I guess, even the worst ones still had a couple things I liked.

The amount of pony content that's been released in terms of shorts, specials and fun little world building videos between FiM and EqG since the end of Season 7 has been downright overwhelming. Contrast that with the sheer volume of nothing released by Disney to keep interest up for DuckTales since they aired the first 9 episodes of Season 1 out of order before stalling into limbo last fall.

Are we sure Hasbro is intending to just drop G4 outright in a little over 18 months from now? DHX Media is an absolute machine. It's really quite impressive.

Granted, you can make a quantity vs. quality argument here... and that's justified. But it's not like this quality threshold bar has been outright abysmal or anything. Certainly not compared to countless other media properties that run themselves into the ground with overexposure. I think they've struck a really nice balance here.
