Deception is on ABC.

ABC actually has a good show on TV this year? Like seriously they cancelled almost their entire lineup of new shows for 2017-2018 and the only one they renewed is The Good Doctor which I still don't believe is good.

I figured Deception would just be another ABC casualty.

Is this not just Castle? Don't get me wrong I love Castle, but yea.

HBO Orders 'The Undoing' Limited Series With 'BLL's Nicole Kidman Starring & David E. Kelley Writing
Adapted by Kelley, The Undoing centers on Grace Sachs (Kidman), who is living the only life she ever wanted for herself. She's a successful therapist on the brink of publishing her first book, has a devoted husband and young son who attends an elite private school in New York City. Weeks before her book is published, a chasm opens in her life: a violent death, a missing husband, and, in the place of a man Grace thought she knew, only a chain of terrible revelations. Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster, and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child and herself.
I'm very ok with HBO continuing to do this type of show with Kidman in a starring role.

No Kevin Can Wait tonight was a godsend.

I've been watching King of Queens reruns and it's amazing how much better that show was, in comparison. I've been a fan for years, but just started watching it again after a bit of a break.

I have to admit that I'm enjoying Good Girls for the most part. Like other shows it's good background noise if anything.

I still watch to see if they'll make the two get together and just turn the show into a remake of King of Queens. lol

Never visit this thread but I just came to say Deception is the most bottom of the barrel shit I've seen in a long, long time. Tuned in just because I was curious about the magic portion of the show and got something so silly and cliché in return. And that actress with the heterochromia....

edit: so was it known that IF Season 2 was official, much less shooting?

How the fuck do we have IF S2 and LC S2 and yet no DD S3 stuff?

I actually watch King of Queens fairly regularly on TV Land. Still enjoy it a lot :) And its cool to catch some goofs and errors in the show that I never saw. I think being in widescreen actually exposes a lot more stuff than the original run did (but I never saw that run as it aired).

I think you are right. The episode where the two went to the wedding together made me feel that they would like to go that direction at some point. The way Remini's characters dad talks about Kevin made it seem that way at least.

I mean they already have 4 people on the show who were on King of Queens at the moment so I wouldn't be surprised if they want to try and capture that shows success lol. But I don't think they have the right writers or best supporting cast to really do the same thing.

Only issue with the AI v Voice comparison is audtion episode vs a serious voice epsiode, if only we'd get them both on the same night when its serious competition night.

We'll get that too. It's every Sunday and Monday every week so EVERY Monday will be The Voice VS American Idol.

In a press release two months ago, ABC announced they were pushing Dancing with the Stars to April 30 instead of the usual March slot and would be extending American Idol to two nights per week in an effort to finish American Idol before DWTS airs.

DWTS premieres April 30, the week after American Idol's Finale Part 1 on April 22 and Finale Part 2 on April 23.

Then DWTS has a special "All Stars" season with 10 athletes every Monday starting April 30 and ending May 21 (which would normally be The Bachelorette's premiere date meaning that show was pushed too).

Then The Bachelorette starts Monday, May 28 with a two-night event I believe.

So yeah, the entire ABC reality TV is on speedup this season.

I think killing the old wife was a sign that they were desperate. They also had their Sandler and Ramano cameos in S1 too. lol

Yeah. Killing off the wife seemed to happen really fast given it was just the first season. I'm super skeptical about that scenario cause I feel like even a ratings boost and positive reaction to Remini being in the last two episodes of the first season wouldn't really call for the writers to immediately want to replace the wife.

Sandler and Romano cameos I've kind of ignored before cause it seemed like Kevin James loves to get his buddies onto his show. Everybody Loves Raymond had Kevin James making appearances on the show very early on and Ray Romano was on King of Queens a number of times as well and it was early in that show's run too. But to be fair that doesn't mean it wasn't a desperation move when they did it with this show. Lol.

Still waiting on them to have Jerry Stiller, Patton Oswalt or Victor Williams to guest star for that ratings bump. lol

It's not like it's hard to edit the url to get the new pic for the next day before it's up. Just change the date and change the day at the end to SUN/MON/TUE/WED/THU/FRI/SAT.

The Good Doctor getting the 50+ crowd managing to raise ABC Monday post idol ratings even higher.

I guess neo new American Idol is managing to hold its own against The Voice. Guess they appeal to different folks.

I've been watching American Idol but The Voice is on two times a year and it's just too much, I can't keep up with it.

The new American Idol is on once a year (if it's renewed) and it's on two nights per week and it's a month long (ending in April)!

I go through phases where I watch a different past sitcom more than others, while trying to sleep or when I'm bored. Right now it's Friends. It goes in waves, though, and King of Queens is a regular.

A couple of HBO notes from a talk at an Israeli tv conference:
Speaking at a panel titled "The Best of HBO" at the INTV conference in Israel on Tuesday, Francesca Orsi, HBO senior vp of drama, said the network has budgeted the Game of Thrones spinoffs near the level of the original series, and above the budget GoT had in its first few seasons. "$50 million (per season) would never fly for what we are trying to do. We are going big," Orsi said.

Given the phenomenal success of GoT, Orsi said "it feels like corporate malfeasance to not continue it," noting the network is planning "three, four, five spinoffs" of the original series.
Casey Bloys, president, HBO Programming, said extending limited series to returning shows remains "the exception rather than the rule" at the network, despite that fact HBO has done the same thing with both True Detective, which will return for a third season, and The Night Of, which has been commissioned for season two.
I forget if we've heard actual confirmation on The Night Of season 2 before.

FX Orders Tech Thriller Pilot 'Devs' From 'Ex Machina's Alex Garland & Scott Rudin
FX has given a pilot order to Devs, a drama from Alex Garland, the award-winning writer-director of sci-fi thriller Ex Machina.

Garland wrote and will direct the pilot, which he will executive produce with Ex Machina and Annihilation collaborators DNA TV and Scott Rudin Productions.

In Devs, which will be produced by FX Productions, a young computer engineer, Lily, investigates the secretive development division of her employer, a cutting-edge tech company based in San Francisco, which she believes is behind the disappearance of her boyfriend.

"Devs is a captivating series from Alex Garland, building on his track record of groundbreaking work that challenges our notion of humanity amid the seemingly boundless promise of technology," said Eric Schrier, President of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. "We're all the more thrilled that Alex will direct and executive produce with our partners at DNA TV and Scott Rudin Productions."

Devs stems from the overall television production deal that Garland signed with FX Productions in July. Under Rudin's three-year first-look deal with Fox Networks Group, he also has Compliance, a half-hour single-camera comedy pilot at FX from writer Sarah Burgess.

Cool. Something similar for me. I keep King of Queens constant but start binging other sitcoms at other times as well. Watched through The Office again on Netflix not too long ago

That iZombie rating. :( I'm pretty sure this is going to be the last season.

Legends of Tomorrow holding about the same. Besides, from what Pedowitz said earlier this year, it looks like all the DC shows are going to be renewed.

And disappointed about The Resident, as well. Have been enjoying this show, I wonder what Fox's cut-off is for ratings on renew or cancel.
