They're selling merchandise at race track prices rather than trying to maximize their away from track profits. Perhaps they should try and tier stuff so that only the most desirable and expensive stuff is only at the circuit.

IndyCar season starts now.

The Indycar race right now is a shit show. A lot of the field can't handle the lower downforce cars and the cold tyres. This is going to go 2hrs easily. Too many cautions.

Yes they will unless they sabotage themselves. Bottas is not Rosberg though.

I'll just have to disagree. Even the 1988 McLaren with Senna and Prost lost one race while blowing out everyone in points. Mercedes won 19/21 in 2016.

Winning 21 races is quite the feat, especially with Ferrari being good. The three engine bullshit is a wildcard too.

The heavens truly must have interfered with us mortals that day to gift Ferrari a Monza 1-2 victory right after Enzo's death, especially given the season's circumstances.

Replace heavens with Jean-Louis Schlesser. Without him they would have won all the races that year.

Besides, there is no reason to assume they will suddenly be amazing on tracks they have struggled on since 2014. Singapore for example, should still very much be a non-Merc track.

Ferrari is not as good as last year. They won't be able to compete with them. Maybe RB in the future. Merc is on another planet right now.

I'll believe it when I see it. If the Mercs can't get their softer tyres working, they're in for some steep trouble from the RBR's en Ferrari's (well maybe just Vettel) of this world. Max, Danny & Seb are monsters when it comes to racepace.

The F1 TV FAQ is up.

https://www.formula1.com/en/championship/inside-f1/FAQ.html

Q: What will I get with F1 TV Pro?
A: Upgrade to F1 TV Pro and you'll get:

F1:
 Live race coverage
 Live timing data
 On-board Driver Cams
 Team radios
 Driver tracker map
 Tyre usage history
 Full race replays
 Historic race archive
 4 commentary languages

Support Series:
 Live F2, GP3 & Porsche Super Cup coverage
 Select On board Driver Cams
 Full race replays

Q: Why won't F1 TV be available in my country?
A: Rights restrictions mean we can't offer F1 TV in every country. But we're always working hard to add more countries each season, so check the F1 TV Content Schedule for updates. For now, full list of F1 TV Pro markets is available below.

ARGENTINA, ANGUILLA, ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA, ARUBA, AUSTRIA, AZERBAIJAN, BAHAMAS, BARBADOS, BELGIUM (to be confirmed), BOSNIA, BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS, BULGARIA, CARIBBEAN NETHERLANDS, CAYMAN ISLANDS, CHILE, COLOMBIA, COSTA RICA, CROATIA, CURAÇAO, DOMINICA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, ECUADOR, FRANCE, GERMANY, GRENADA, GUADELOUPE, GUATEMALA, HAITI, HONDURAS, HUNGARY, JAMAICA, MARTINIQUE, MEXICO, MONACO, MONTSERRAT, NICARAGUA, PARAGUAY, PERU, ROMANIA, SAINT BARTHÉLEMY, SAINT KITTS AND NEVIS, SAINT LUCIA, SAINT MARTIN, SAINT VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES, SERBIA, SINT MAARTEN, SLOVENIA, SOUTH TYROL, SWITZERLAND, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, TURKEY, TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS, UKRAINE, UNITED STATES VIRGIN ISLANDS, URUGUAY, USA, VENEZUELA

Q: How many video streams will I be able to watch at the same time?
A: One. You will only be able to watch one video stream on one of your devices, while you keep track of key stats like live timing and tyre info on others. Picture in picture will be classed as one stream.

Q: How do I pay for F1 TV?
A: You can pay using any of the accepted credit cards. In order to authenticate the country in which you live, both your IP stream and credit card address will have to match an authorized F1 TV market.

Really curious how extensive the historic race archive will be. That might just justify the subscription even if the current season is boring.

I assume the historic race archive will mirror the kind of content on Sky Sports F1 and their classic races stuff. So mostly from the 1980s onwards.

Full race replays sounnds interesting. Particulalry if I can watch the whole experience in replay. I don't always catch it live, but I'd love to "start" it the next morning and still get the experience of timing, camera angles and such. Like a "no spoiler mode" for the app where I can boot it and mark that I am caught up to the race result before the front page ruins it.

The current F1 mobile app already has a "no spoiler" mode, you just have to enable it in the settings. I watch all the races live, but some qualifyings on demand if they happen to be overseas and I have to get up at like 6 AM on a saturday. I watch them immediately after waking up though.

I have the Octavia VRS estate, and I'd have ordered another had they not told me that the version I wanted wasn't available (Petrol 4x4 no longer made).

I have a regular Octavia II Combi, which I bought new, but since I started to walking to work I use it so rarely it only has 76k km on it and it will be ten years old this September.

Not counting tires it hasn't even cost me more than 1k in service costs, Imma drive this thing until petrol engines do not exist anymore outside of novelty cars.

yeah the Skoda jokes are more than redundant now. If anything, the jokes on VW right now.

To be fair to Jaded. He may have been referring to my Octavia which was burning 1l of oil for every 600 miles. Not sure. lol.

Hurrah for the 280 though. Mo room, mo powah, mo comfort.

Wow, I very rarely see a Skoda around, so I'm surprised to see so many Skoda owners in this thread.

(I drive a run-of-the-mill VW)

Yup. If you really care about image... you can go with Audi or VW. But if you actually care about getting performance for the right price, you go Skoda. :)

Nah, those are the budget VW line (they're actually good). I'll picture this when I hear Skoda 'till the end of my life. Kinda like with Lada, you automatically associate the boxy 1200.
