I like the original members for OND. They all got along well and relatively harmoniously despite Yuudai not being good for anything. That new member though... hahaha. Damn.

I've unironically enjoyed every Taylor Swift theme songs on the Japanese version (the TH edits are way better than the originals actually, especially the current one)

Watched OND episode 1. Grieving for the old music. Somehow it made me sad I seemed to be slightly too old to be in the age range for Terrace House but now there's actually someone a year older than me it's even worse because the younger ones are like "Haha, you're my dad's age!" I feel so old.

Hate the new intro song. I will now keep the song ready on my phone and listen to it with the show on mute when the time comes.

Honestly though the song feels really out of place for the end of the show. Hearing the door close and the new song just seems odd like it doesn't fit.

Only on episode 2. I fucking love the new house and setting for this season.

Yuudai is such a baby and i mean that as in he is annoying asf

Ami being two faced isnt even surprising tbh

Oh and Shion is a giraffe in comparison to everyone in that house. Definitely my type tho in terms of aesthetics.

Everyone else seems okay but I havent seen enough of them to say quite yet.

As someone who is up to date with the Japanese releases - OND is definitely miles better than Aloha State. Is it better than In the City? I'm not sure. While it's true that most members have better chemistry, I feel that's something is still missing.
It might be because ITC was the first series I watched, like most people here.
That said, the first series is still the best, no contest.

On ep 7 of the new season...goddamn Yuudai. I can't tell if I feel sorry for him or not. He's so weird, but he does get piled on a bit. The 31 year old is shady as fuck though. I know he's setting Yuudai up for failure with that girl.

I really liked Aloha State...after like the first group that is. I didn't realize only 8 episodes are out on Netflix. Fuck! I need to get access to the other episodes..or go to the first series that I never watched. Are we allowed to discuss where to find/stream the first series?

In fact, since I first started watching Terrace House when I was in Tokyo I noticed, surprisingly, the Japanese version has better song choices by far

To be fair we're just 10 episodes in. First season didn't hit its stride until several member changes

The first group in AS was nice. At the end, I just wished it would end. It was so dumb and aggressive at end..

First group minus the virgin. He was nice and all but just too awkward and boring. Lauren and everything got a lot more into it once the surfer dude came in, and then it got good. I really liked the actor in the end, plus he got the best girl, my Chikako :'(

^ Taka sucks. Glad I wasn't the only one to spot that he is a lot more shady than he comes across.

Also, wtf at the intro song change? Fuck off Netflix!

Having just seen the first three episodes of OND I already like it a lot more than Aloha State, but that's not a high bar to clear. I feel like AS kind of vacillated wildly between extremely boring and extremely crazy.

Up to episode 3 - no specific spoilers, just cast impressions:

Yuudai is someone I would avoid interacting with. Not because he's annoying and weird (he is weird, but I'm generally cool with weirdos), but he seems too mentally weak or fragile. He seems kind of spoiled and manipulative too. It's hard not to get good at cooking if someone cares about it at all, let alone going to culinary school for a bit, so it's odd that he doesn't seem to be very good at it.

Ami is just there. The kind of person who has weird standards for everyone else to meet while sitting there like a slug waiting to be impressed is kind of a chore. I struggle to be interested in people's genuine desire to become models, let alone people using wanting to be a model as an excuse almost. I guess just watching her and Yuudai messing with each other might be entertaining though.

Mizuki seems like she has her shit together. I haven't seen much about her at all yet.

Shion seems interesting, but I totally got a Tap flashback with the dreams and ambitions talk. It makes me think that sometimes hanging out with a group of Japanese people must randomly turn into a surprise panel job interview. He wasn't so aggro about it at least.

Big bro snowboarder seems cool so far, but I will not be surprised if he has a sleazy quality.

Tsubasa is freaking adorable and is my favourite so far. However, she's basically the pure sporty girl protagonist of a shoujo manga at this point. I'm looking forward to seeing more aspects of her personality and interactions with the others.

Random thing to notice: were the beds in the girls' room covered with Bay point blankets, or just a really close facsimile? If so, Bay blankets + winter sports + wooded setting are giving me a really Canadian vibe.
