The show is plumetting. And it can only keep dropping for so long before "It's still one of the highest rated shows on television" will no longer matter to AMC.
AMC doesn't have anywhere else to spend their money. Nothing else on their programming slate has really taken off. They will probably cling onto Walking Dead until it's no longer sustainable.

4 of the top 10 shows on cable in 2017 were AMC shows. That's more shows in the top 10 than any other channel, more than HBO and FX combined.

Huh? AMC absolutely has other successful shows.

But also, I wasn't implying they would cancel The Walking Dead. But if ratings keep falling, especially if this trend continues with the new showrunner, I can see them forcing drastic changes on the show.

The Walking Dead
Fear the Walking Dead
Better Call Saul
Into the Badlands

In 2016 they also had 4 of the top 10 scripted shows: TWD, FtWD, BCS, and Preacher

Didn't know Into the Badlands was that popular either. It can be entertaining to watch whenever I accidentally run into it. Now, Better Call Saul, is a fucking masterpiece. Just as good as Breaking Bad.

Anyway, hopefully tomorrow's episode is good. They were driving around and shit and I like Mad Max shit so.

Into the Badlands does 1.7 million viewers in the target demo. The Walking Dead does 9.7 million, Fear the Walking Dead 3.1 million, and Better Call Saul is at 1.9 million. To say that nothing else is a hit is not accurate, but there's really not a lot else to fall back on......nothing is remotely as popular as Walking Dead. I suspect Better Call Saul will only have another couple seasons, assuming it doesn't run any longer than Breaking Bad.

Last episode was just so slow. There are so many threads that there's little movement on any of them when each gets equal time. It wouldn't be so bad if they actually had some new character development but they're rehashing ideas. I'm simply not interested in Morgan's internal struggle with killing/not killing any longer.

So I skipped Episode two. Did Trevor basically kill the garbage people?

So if the walker blood is now a dangerous weapon, how much sense does it make to coat it on your melee weapons BEFORE piling into the vehicles and driving to what seems to be another county.

The cast has been swimming in zombie guts for 8 seasons, to varying degrees of injury including cuts, scrapes and gunshot wounds, including things like Rick getting entirely sprayed with blood. This is serious bullshit.

Way back in the second or third episode called guts, I figured if they survive that, they're good.

They wear walker blood on Fear like it's its a weekend normal.

If the Saviors catapult walker guts into Hilltop and Rick shouts back "That's not how the infection works!" this will have been worth it.

Its not without precedent tho. If someone with HIV spit on you or flung blood on you, unless it got into an open wound you wouldn't get infected. To my knowledge they've never blatently shown zombie blood get into someone with any wound.

These people must stink so bad.

Maybe that's why the heapsters preferred the landfill, it probably beat Ricks ball sweat smell.
