Ziga Chapter 1

I dont like the godzilla type of thing in media but I end up seeing these things because of the usual apocalyptic type of destruction as I love that type of genre in science fiction writing due to see how people react in the situations.

So I ended up really like this alot because Ko is a great lead and seemingly perfect once he puts his mind to it. I was cheering for him the whole time. Without the femchar there for him, I cant wait to see how he will now develop. Will he continue to live based on the idea she gave him about believing and not giving up until he tries hard, or will he totally give in to despair and well dawdle and wonder all alone.

Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon ch63

All that trouble for a doll. Well, childhood memories are important.

Shinkaigyo no Anko-san ch18

Looks like they've learned how to appeal to the idol crowd after all. Their career is all but assured!

Yamada to Kase-san ch3

The sticking point to me is that she has a digital camera instead of just using her phone. So unrealistic.

Noah's Notes 2

This is alright /interesting but I think it kind of works more as a novel. I also dont see what the beginning part with the bird added as it felt more like a distraction. Should have been something pushed to a future chapter, while this one spent more on theorizing and finding out what happened in 2022. Like the finding the diary was so good it almost made me forget about the random bird stuff or some of the science details that could have been sprinkled throughout later chapters.

Ziga 1

This was okay I guess, clearly trying to be a shonen jump version of attack on titan. The big mistake this chapter made was not showing how exactly the fighting works in this series. Gonna guess the girl isn't actually dead and somehow she gave the thing away to someone who was scared and they died.

Robot x Laserbeam 49

This series is really trying to sell me on the idea that Robo is being screwed by the Don... it is failing at that goal.

One Piece 898

Sanji's family getting some redemption is fine I guess. I just want them to hurry up and show Big Mom losing to Sanji's cake.

My Hero Academia 175

I love the idea that Gentle will be beaten by Midoria and the day will be saved and nobody will know the day was threatened. I really hope that's how this plays out.

Noah's Notes 2

The story didn't move forward much, but the relationship between our leads was compelling enough to hide that fact. I'm glad that the action in this series will be focused more on smart stuff like using a flash light to stun an owl.

The Promised Neverland 79

Emma confronting Luvis was hype as fuck, still stunned the humans haven't started jobbing yet to the demons. The plan has gone almost too well I keep expecting the twist.

Jujutsu Kaisen 3

I feel like this series has no idea what it wants to do. One of the least engaging jump starts I've read in awhile.

Dr Stone 50

I'm so glad Gen is on team science now, his reactions to Senku's bull shit are incredible. I feel Senku's cell phone plan is flawed since there is almost no chance Tsukasa won't see through Taiju and Yuzuriha being spies.

We Never Learn 55

Start a chapter with best girl, end the chapter with worst girl. The chapter really died when sensei showed up and the final gag really underwhelmed.

Food Wars 255

Wow they're really rushing this final battle, Rindou has already present and Tsukasa ended with his dish ready. Still waiting for the weakness in Rindou or Tsukasa to be revealed to give Erina/Soma a not bull shit excuse to win.

HxH 378

Oh my god did we really just introduce another fucking faction into this arc. Someone needs to make a massive flow chart to detail all the characters, their alliegances, and their goalss for the arc. I kinda hope Hisoka isn't on the ship and this is just one big hate circle jerk by the spiders.

Black Clover 149

So 1/3 of the cast is now possessed by evil dead elves? If Licht's plan was to just shove the souls of his comrades into humans why did he kill his 3 loyal minions? Why not just kill 3 prisoners or something? I assume Yuno will jusr break feee on his own because he's Yuno.

This dipshit thought he could take Revvy? Bitch please, she played him like a fiddle.

I will say I wasn't expecting the dialogue to be so explicit in regards to what he wanted to do to her.

EDIT: Also, a two month wait for the next chapter? Damn, that hurts.

Something about the protag being mr master of everything and the nice girl "dying" in the first chapter of Ziga really pissed me off. i know her character is a cliche pixie dreamgirl type but I really fucking hate it when these girls get jobbed to further some dudes character growth. I don't know what I hate more- her not being dead, and it being someone elses arm,. her being dead, or her being dead sans arm.

I kind of wonder- is it going to be straight up kaiju battle like AOT? him having superhuman abilities and there being weapons kind of suggests that he might not transform into a monster and fight it from the ground... but that isn't going to work if godzilla shoots beams that disintergrate flesh.

If people can transform into monster in Ziga...that would feel like some type of last ditch effort to save the manga. I dont think the writer should consider that until the series gets well established. The comparisons to other series would be way too similar for lots of people to accept if they did transform.

They spelled it out years ago: Tsukasa doesn't work well with others and all of this background is showing that he doesn't trust anyone. The individual dishes will be better than Soma and Erina's dishes, but the combination will be better on Soma and Erina's side. It's setting up a fluke win.

And I don't hav ea clue what is happening in Black Clover, but plot arcs take like 10 chapters in Black Clover so this is probably going to be done with by Asta transforming into his Demon Form and shooting out a giant anti-magic beam (which is totally not itself Magic, guys).

Twin Star Exorcists: Adashino Benio's Arc 02

First, why the fuck is this not just part of the main story!? This is some really vital information and I don't buy that he couldn't just alternate between Rokuro and Benio now and then.
Second, with me already really down because of that stupid decision to split things up, I'm reaaally disappointed with the developments on Benio's side.
Of course female Twin Star Exorcist gets all the despair and their powers turn out to be actually of evil nature and they have to stop being human if they want to fully unlock them and all that shit while the male Twin Star Exorcist naturally has the good powers, yay.
The cynic in me thinks that this is setting up a big powerup for Benio that it will ultimately lead into her getting overwhelmed and Rokuro coming to the rescue or some shit.
Maybe I'm overly harsh but I swear I lost all trust in this mangakas ability to balance the twin protagonist nature of the series as soon as he moved Benio's part into a quarterly spin-off.

RIP Miyubi, you were too dead for this world. Everyone in the scooby gang is now a certified killer and should feel utterly ashamed of their heartless actions. Except for sensei, because out of all the murder methods, hers was the most pleasant.

Please answer yes to that cliffhanger, the fallout would sustain me for weeks. I still feel that Lanka needs to grow about 2 feet + have a personality transplant before I can take her even semi-seriously as a heroine. Also this chapter confirmed that Meimei is a degenerate and that she looks cute on a Segway.

Kuro volumes 1-3 [END]
http:///U3Ic.jpg

Kuro feels like poetry made manga. Every page is so full of feelings. Nice, sad, dark, scary feelings, the range is ample and well conveyed not only through the text but also thanks to the beautiful art. The fact each volume is full color for half of it, leaving the black/white for the side chapters/looks on past even only help amplifying it all.
I really liked the balance struck between the every day life while also connecting the past through quick looks and side chapters that fleshed out characters and relationships, changing my first impressions on characters like Maria and Milk.

Coco and Kuro are great and the end to the story felt simply perfect to me.
If I had to find a negative to it, I'd say that I wish there was a bit more on the monsters.

V10 of Haikyuu!! will probably forever be my favorite. The time with hinata growing steadily once going with the elementary and middle schoolers for tempo stuff and the first chapter of the training camp and all of karasunos are trying to grow is really good.

Just started reading through Yawara!, and man, this goes without saying, but Naoki Urasawa does good work. This is actually the first thing I've read outside of his more serious stuff, but it still totally is working really well for me.

That said, I got the bunko editions. I love the format in general, so I don't regret my decision, but the covers are certainly... something.

Nameless Asterism Vol. 1
4078999.jpg.size-600_maxheight-600_square-true.jpg

Pretty cute yuri story so far, Shiratori has a crush on her friend Washio, who has a crush on their other friend Kotooka (and the story not so subtly implies she has a thing for Shiratori, too), and things get awkward. WHat I'm actually most curious about is the guy who randomly asks Shiratori out, because she has a twin brother (who's into crossdressing), too. I'm almost wondering if they're going to pull an Aki Sora twist and it turns out he asked her out because she reminds him of her brother or something like that. While he did have an adequate sounding reason for asking her out, it's also clear he isn't telling her the whole story.

On another note, does anyone else who ha bought any of Ghost Ship's releases think their volumes.. um, bloat a little bit? Not too sure how to describe it other than that, but the volumes I have pretty much stopped being "flat" after only one read through, like there's a bunch air between pages and if I try to push them a bit more tightly together, they'll just fall over. Sorry I couldn't really describe it too well, I literally tried Googling this too and could not for the life of me find an adequate way to describe it lol.

Huh, guess I was on the money when I said this could quite happily end soon. Assuming the next 1-2 chapters are indeed the last, I think this is one of the limited occasions where a time skip ending would actually feel appropriate.

It depends a lot of on your expectations. If you were expecting a yuri manga then you'll be let down, because its like the author actually forgot that that was what it was supposed to be and wrote something else instead.

Yawara was pretty uninteresting to me (to be kind), I dropped it after 1 or 2 volumes. I already knew Urasawa was a hack after reading Happy! but Yawara felt even worse, also thanks to characters that annoyed me more than the cast of assholes in Happy!.

Edit: At least our releases didn't have those covers. I think it was based on the Perfect Edition, so 20 volumes instead of 29 and it's still stuck at volume 17 (first volume came out February 02 2013, volume 17 came out November 18 2017) since the publisher went with 2 releases a year for it for the last 4 volumes.

I can definitely see it not being for everyone, but I'm pretty thoroughly enjoying it. I guess maybe part of it is that, like, it has that sort of... old school feel I guess, like I get from the older (pre-Inuyasha) Takahashi works that I really like. Plus at least thus far (2 bunko in, so probably roughly about 3 volumes) it feels a loooooot less repetitive than I'd expect from such a series usually. Like, I could see it falling into a pretty easy loop with the setup, but it definitely hasn't, at least thus far. Plus I like the cast interactions a lot, haha, so agree to disagree there I suppose.

But yeah, still pretty early in, so I'll probably hold off on more thorough thoughts till when I'm all the way through. (Bare minimum, finding this a huuuuuuuge step up from Reborn, which is the last big series I read.)

To give a bit more background to my comment, I came to Yawara after reading through Happy! (which I ended up valuing positively because of how the story was resolved), but I hated the ride and the way Urasawa wrote the characters (apart from the main girl, everyone there was more or less an asshole or a dick), the dynamics, the relationships and I kept reading just to see what kind of ending our protagonist would be faced with.
Since Happy! gave me an acceptable end to the suffering I went through, I decided to give Yawara a shot (it was just starting to release over here) and I was liking it initially, girl wants to live a normal, girl life instead of keeping doing Judo but then it felt like the beginning, with her resolution to live a normal girl life while her grandfather does stuff to get her back into doing Judo, kept repeating over and over and I simply couldn't keep going.

Still, you shouldn't withhold your thoughts as you go through it. It's always interesting to see thoughts and opinions on serialized stuff as one reads through them volume by volume.

My Entire Class Was Summoned to Another World except for Me 1-3
awaF9po.jpg

Modern Japan, 20XX. During an otherwise uneventful morning in a typical Japanese middle school classroom, a mysterious figure suddenly appears before the students, declaring that another world needs them to vanquish the evil Demon Lord. And so, the students are transported to another world in order to fulfill their mission, and given abilities befitting their personality.

All the students except one who was sleeping at the corner of the class and was outside the magic teleport circle. So now, that guy has magic powers in the real worlds.

One year pass after relentless police interrogation (granted that would be expected with 39 persons disappearing at the same time) and he's now a high school student. How will he confront everyday enemies such as thugs, hoodlums and terrorists (!) and what will he do against dangers permeating from the other world to his.

It's kind of an inverted Iseki, where the protag gets all the OP powers and power fantasy and wishful self-inserting but in the real world.
Like other Isekai, it's wait'n'see to see if the author does something interesting with it or if it is just another shounen power fantasy.

ReLife 222 (FINAL)

This has been one of the best series in a while and I'm sad to see it end. I was hoping for a little bit more but the ending was very satisfying overall. May or may not have shed manly tears!

Man my heart clenched when Kaizaki met Ohga and Karui again. Hope ReLife is successful for Ohga's brother. I loved seeing the 4 just hanging out at Kaizaki's apartment like they used to when they were in high school. I'm surprised the sunset view didn't play a larger role. I assumed everyone would end up meeting there at some point. Regardless, I'm happy we got some proper closure instead of some Shinkai ass BS like the movie ending.

Isekai Goumon Hime 9

The escapee's power and significance suggests he's end boss tier, so the odds of a final resolution being reached with him within the 1 week period are minimal. I'm usually into fashionable necromancers with skeleton collections, but those lips are an affront to both the living and the dead.

It's funny that if you just took out the Don's lines about rigging it, no reader would think twice about the bracket. Just the protagonist having to face the introduced characters as normal lol

If a person has that normal sumo wrestler look, I have trouble keeping tack of them. One of the guys did appear earlier, but I don't think it is that important to know what people did in part 1 outside of the main team + treasures.
