It didn't save my gold after I logged out and back in. I got kicked for being idle...only had 91 gold, but let that be a lesson to the other pirates on the sea!
You'll get it back eventually. Happened to me as well.

All of their stuff is tied to their servers, which is having issues.

As the sun sets on my first (brief) evening on the sea, my pirate does his best Zenyatta impression on the main yard

BTW, anyone else happy that there is always at least 1 treasure in a sunken ship?

first ship was a skull and chest

second ship had a skull, chest and a expensive box of silk....so one for each company.

I remember in the beta diving and finding absolutely nothing.

Has Rare said why there isn't a trader or anything for pvp? Seems odd not to have anything tied to it.

Actually it would be neat to get a quest that says "Sing any Pirate ship and return the Captain's Name Plate" for whatever rewards. Not sure how they would vary that but it seems something that would be neat...but then it would also make it too PVP focused if they this.

I would rather they have a different quest giver that makes you collect keys buried in random locations, then take that key to unlock a door on another island and then explore a giant cave to retrieve an item that is an instant reward. Something cosmetic of course, but something to make things a bit different. They can scale these based on the amount of team mates you have. A lot of possibilities.

Well it is 5 mins to go time. Time to head upstairs to the game room and get ready!

Yep because it makes exploration worth your time.

Gamepass DL from earlier asking me if I own the game and to insert disc. Worked under NZ region this morning. Switched back to US region and not working so far.

I enjoyed the last hour of going solo on a sloop but I have to say, the final game is remarkably buggier than the Beta and even the Alphas I played. Islands would stay in low-poly mode minutes after I arrived, a Skeleton Fort totally glitched on me when I arrived (first it was low-poly, then when I arrived I shot a Skellie, the game froze for a good 45 seconds and then booted me out) and half the quests I took on disappeared from my inventory. I'll chalk it up to first day woes, but it was interesting to see that in what I had expected from my pervious time with it to be something a bit more polished. Looking forward to finally getting my girlfriend on board tomorrow, that's when the real fun of this begins.

Whenever you play solo you have to scope out your destination as best as possible. Even going to the point of circling the outpost island to see if there is a ship docked somewhere or a mermaid, which is dead giveaway someone is on the island. Even with that I would still use the scope to make sure. Before I would dock, I would also do a quick 360 look with the scope to ensure no ships are approaching the outpost then I would proceed. In solo, you have to watch your back. To me it make it the game great. While grouping is the way to go, there is a lot of fun in playing solo and turning in chests and out smarting other players. If you know how to use the sails, you can easily out run a large 4 man ship.
Good tips, I indeed have been a bit careless when playing, perhaps because it's a bit overwhelming when playing solo for the first time.

The next time I have to play alone I'll see how it goes.

I'm curious how much of it is server related. I was jumping all over the place from time to time like seriously heavy lag so I'm wondering if your location wasn't updating correctly causing weird LOD issues.

Now we wait to slowly download due to the bullshit no preload for Gamepass. Maybe I can play twenty minutes until Saturday :|
