Monster Hunter doing #1 two months in a row is damn good and a lot better than I ever would have expected.

DBFZ holding as strong as it is is not only damn good for Bamco and Arc System Workers, but damn good for fighting games in general.

Bayonetta 2 getting as high as it did is pretty damn impressive. I was hella surprised when the game was actually selling out at stores in my area. Good on SotC too.

And I was about to post how America disappoint yet again with their choice of gaming purchase. SotC at #6 is good. You did well.

Hopefully the SoTC success story and other remasters show Nintendo they should price some ports at $40 instead of the full $60 (Captain Toad is $40 and that's great)

Wow, Shadow of the Colossus at #6?

Isnt the NPD list revenue based?

Since the game was $40, that means it must have sold REALLY well!

That is so awesome

So are we figuring Far Cry 5 to top the list for March?

I know it releases at the very end of the month, but that's a big multiplatform game.

Capcom has a real winner here.

I will be surprised if they don't step up their game and tried to go deeper as a GaaS title. The game is perfectly settled for that kind of experience.

it's good but it's no Fortnite

Fortnite is for kids/newbs that can't win games on PUBG.

MHW is for grown adults that has been training with souls games for years, now they drink the tears of D2 fans while playing the superior GaaS game.

Not sure what's the deal comparing both games so I went extra silly

Mario Kart Wii was a juggernaut and went on to sell 37.02 million units, looks like Mario Kart 8 may end up doing something similar if this continues.

I imagine its legs will get cut off at some point by Mario Kart 9

I still remember when it was revealed that Mario Kart Wii sold over 1 million units in 2013. talk about legs, wowza!

With the popularity of the Switch, combined with extra deals on the Xbox and basically nothing on PS4, I was sure it would be close due to tax season but basically PS4 in #2 or even 3.

Sony played it well, full price, and still #1.
Keeps on beasting.

My own takes:

MH:W's performance is, quite frankly, amazing.

Xbox One is really pushing the HW sales up YoY, don't think that platform is getting enough credit for what it's meant to performance the last few months.

Very surprised by SOTC performance, did not see that coming.

The evergreens (GTAV, MK8, Siege, etc) continue to impress every month.

Now that the IGT hangover is about over, all of the accessory market level reporting is going to start looking a lot better and more accurately reflect reality.

PS4 continues to overperform my expectations.

So yeah, an awful lot to like right now in the sales data.

Impressive sales for SotC. Playstation is having a very strong start to this year, which will continue with God of War in April. Xbox One sales continue to surprise as well, maybe Sea of Thieves could be the next big hit for the system. Switch still selling well, but I feel Nintendo has to reveal their online plans and have a strong showing at E3 to continue the momentum. Labo's impact on sales will be very interesting too.

They won't be in any rush to release Mario Kart 9 if MK8 Deluxe keeps selling. Won't be surprised if we don't see another Mario Kart until the Switch 2 or whatever.

As someone who's been playing MonHun since the first game on PS2, it's fucking amazing to see how much the franchise took off.

Nergigante's going to be hunted to fucking extinction at this rate

you might be right. I honestly don't know what they do with Mario Kart 9 tbh because 8 is just so damn good. I feel like if they change it up too much it'll be worse off for it and if they don't change it enough it'll get dinged for being too iterative.

What I can see is that the console market is healthy all around in the US. Everyone is selling hardware wise and a wide variety of great games, new and old, are selling incredibly well. Seriously this is great all around.

Konami isn't in the digital leader panel, keep in mind, so digital sales of MGS aren't included in the rankings.
