This looks really intriguing, will just boiling down to if any of my friends will be interested as well.
Anyone want to play tonight on PS4 in Europe when the launches? I'd rather play with someone off here than just matchmake or whatever online.
There's no matchmaking for this game, you can only play with a friend. BeardedMan01, perhaps you want to add this info to the OP?

Not sure where you are from, but it 29.99 in the United States.
I genuinely think non-owners looking for a co-op game will outnumber those with the game by an order of magnitude. A linear co-op & online only game has a much shorter shelf life than your normal offline campaign or match-based online game, and buzz for this specific game has been fairly middling.
Well, I'll have a friend free trial/play thing and need someone to play with, so that offer will be open later on when it's live.
Pretty disappointing about no matchmaking, if you have to go to a forum to ask people to play with you what's the difference? I don't personally know anyone online or IRL who would buy this game so it sucks for people like me, and even if I did know someone online you have 2 people maybe in different parts of the world who have to match up their schedules to be able to play the game together? Just give people matchmaking so they can sit down and play when they want to play it. Buying it outright gives you the ability for matchmaking with others who have bought it and lets you invite friends, if you don't buy the game you can only be invited, that's one way to do it where no glaring issues come to mind immediately (I'm sure someone will think of some haha)

I will be doing a small update of the OP soon no worries.
It's fine. I thought about an OT title for a while from the easy like Fuck the Oscars to the convoluted references to stuff like Shawshank redemption eventually I just decided a simple pun would do. It made me laugh.
I mean, I can only speak for myself here but if I wasn't going to play this with a friend I just wouldn't have any interest in it at all. The devs probably thought the same thing.
Doesn't seem like it would be a good experience with anything other than a spouse or friend.
Friends pass will become available once the game is officially released.
If a game goes only 6-8 hours and gives you a straight full blown packed 6 hour story and action experience, I would choose that over any 30 hour+ game in a heartbeat.

That's correct, but only upon trying to access Online for the first time. You will be prompted to create an EA account to associate it to your PSN profile (assuming you haven't done this already with a different EA game in the past). It's a pretty quick process.
Just wanted to say that all the information straight from the source is very much appreciated.
I think I'll watch the first 30 mins or so on YouTube to get a feel for it. It's not easy to lock a friend down for 6 hours right now so I might rent it in the future when I can. I think not allowing matchmaking might bite them in the ass.
I'm really excited to see how this one turns out. I can't get it right at launch, but if I see good things it's definitely a summer buy for me.
Oh, ok so maybe if I play it in couch-co-op sessions (as we plan on anyway) I might get away with just cancelling the registration process or just plain starting the game offline... That should probably work I guess. Thanks for the info :)
I prefer playing almost all games on my main account but when I am forced to agree on terms of service of a third party (that I can never be arsed to actually read because I want to play a game obviously) and link my profile and whatever I just play those games on another profile
I'll be on it tonight on PS4, and have an open invitation for anybody who wants playthrough the story with me. I'll be playing in like 8 and a half hours, that's when the game launches here in Europe.
