Does he join immediately or when the PL season is over?
And with less than four months remaining on his Old Trafford contract, sources have told ESPN FC that United manager Jose Mourinho has allowed Ibrahimovic to leave now in order to sign for an MLS club.

Sources have told ESPN FC that the Galaxy, who have held a long-term interest in Ibrahimovic, are leading contenders to sign the striker, who is determined to continue his career after returning from a serious knee injury at United earlier this season.

SI.com has confirmed that superstar striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed a contract to join the LA Galaxy and will leave Manchester United.

A source with direct knowledge of the deal tells SI.com that Ibrahimovic has signed a contract through the end of the 2019 season that will pay him $1.5 million per year, the maximum allowed for a contract using Targeted Allocation Money.

The Ibrahimovic deal is set to be announced officially on Friday with a full-page advertisement in the Los Angeles Times. He is set to arrive in Southern California next week, perhaps on Wednesday or Thursday.

Ibrahimovic has been recovering from an injury, but SI.com was told it is possible he could be available in the Galaxy squad for its March 31 intracity rivalry showdown against LAFC on the big Fox channel.

Hmm, gonna have to check the schedule and see if we play LA at home. Would love to see him live.

Got real excited and made a thread on Zlatan. It's about time he signed. Unlikely, but if he shows up on 3/31 against LAFC it's going to be nuts!

This is a real tweet from March 22, 2018

Some of the responses:

I know that perhaps I am not the typical american soccer fan, but count me as happy that Zlatan didn't come to NY. We need to mature as a soccer nation beyond the celebrity clown show that Zlatan brings. Give me a Ledesma 10 days out of 10 over an aged and injured Zlatan.

I'm sure he would have LOVED that opportunity! Nothing like @NYCosmos an NYC!

Would have made sense then, this is a bad idea for @LAGalaxy

They'll still lose to LAFC.

Wow...I may actually get to see Zlatan play live. I could have never done that with United.

Unfortunately I'll be rooting against him.
I'm still iffy on LAFC's defense. They've just faced RSL and a depleted Sounders side so far. Those are both basically an easy 6 points. I rate LA Galaxy a bit higher than both of those in terms of attack. And then they've got Atlanta the week after. If they can come out of those two with 2-6 points you can call me a believer.

They need Zimmerman to play right CB and they also have to hope teams don't attack their young LB. He's not really that good defensively.

You're right to question their defense. I'm hoping management can see what everyone else does.

Ibra can really only help the league. His ego gives his personality which American sports kind of need to take off.

Man. Zlatan. This is awesome. I really, really should get a ticket to the Timbers game against the Galaxy, but I don't have a job right now, and TA ticket availability is low... :(

...maybe when I get my severance payment? Or should I just say fuck it, and get the ticket now?

Yo, Brad Friedel's high press is slaying Viera's 4-2-3-1. Look like completely different teams.

EDIT:

They got a counter off from the back after being boxed in for the first 8 minutes of the second half. Live by the high press, die by the high press.

The press LIVES. Penilla has been solid for the Revs all match and that was a fantastic cross. 2 - 1

And again on the counter. 2 - 2.

Fagundez in the 10 spot was actually pretty good. So, FREE NGUYEN.

If NYCFC can't handle the Rev's pressing what the hell are RBNY going to do to them this year?

I mean, the same thing most of the league did against them, hit them hard on the counter, but with Villa in place of Berget. Should be a fun match for sure.
That worked last year when the midfield was older and slower, but it's a million times faster this year. I'm not so sure the bunker and counter will work as well this year.

Yeah, good point. Should be dope. They look incredible with the addition of Kaku and the kiddos showing up to eat some lunch.

Also, it's good to see Ethan Finlay back in form with the Loons.

Tim Parker has got wheels

That's always been an underrated aspect of Parker's game. He's great in the air, and also much better than Waston in 1v1 situations. Time after time, Parker would drift into the space behind Waston and cover for him if Waston got beat.

The only subpar part of Parker's game is his composure on the ball, be it passing or receiving passes. Other than that, he's an elite MLS CB
