Is it just me or does that mafia guy look like a bootleg Gotoh? Every time i see him makes me sad Gotoh is gone :(

I will say no, it seems this chapters will all be focus on the lower decks.

It's 20 chapters away though. That's roughly how many chapters have been spent on the higher decks thus far, so about the same for the lower decks and join the storylines with the banquet as the catalyst. That's what I think is gonna happen anyway.

Ohhh brain freeze for some reason i thought it was like 4/5 chapters away. But yeah you right that makes sense, that banket is gonna be crazy.

People were joking about this before, but it would not surprise me if part of Mizaistrom's investigation has him dealing with the Kakin courts and total army, which leads to Togashi introducing 3 more factions and about a dozen more characters within.

I just caught up with the last few chapters. People were overreacting to how many characters he added. It's basically just the 3 mafia bosses and a bunch of underlings for one of them. I imagine the only characters we really need to know are the mafia bosses, the underbosses, and maybe a couple out of the contagion group.

That ability is great by the way. So much chaos added to an already chaotic arc. It's going to be a bloodbath and I love it.

It's no wonder so many are being introduced, not everyone is going to die. I imagine some characters will survive besides the obvious ones to fill the void for when all the deaths of the long-running characters start occurring.

I maintain my rule of unless they do something cool i don't care to remember their name.

Or they will be cannon fodder for later in the DC.

Pretty sure only Beyond's group and the Zodiacs are getting off at the DC. Maybe some other Hunter X Hunter association peeps like Biscuit.

What you guys think of the DC "guides", i was reading old chapter during Ging explanation to Beyond group and it seems Beyond is planning for a unexplored route and without the guides. Ging even implies that they are responsible in part for the calamities, like a "lesson" for humanity.

It probably will have some cthulhu kind of shit there.

I would not be surprise if some kind sea monster attacks the boat during the end of the trip, and someone has to go outside to deal with it. But maybe that happens during the real DC trip in Morel boat.

I might be misremembering things or mixing things up with a fan theory, but I think you're right. For some reason I remember the guides being the ones responsible for the expeditions bringing back the calamities as punishment or like you said a "lesson". It's not like the expeditions would voluntarily bring back some of the most dangerous things known to mankind.

I question why they need guides at all. If Lake Mobius is just a normal lake, they should be able to reach whatever shore they're aiming for through simple sailing. It's almost as if there's some weird spatial geometry fuckery going on between the known world and the DC, which would explain the need for a powerful guide that can force people to bring back a calamity.

Of all the recorded ventures to DC, only five have brought back survivors. To this day the only living survivor is Beyond. Those five "successful" ventures just happened to use The Guide, all other ventures didn't even make to land. Probably sea monsters fucked them up.

It does seem like there's something that's preventing easy access to the Dark Continent coastline. Whether it's some natural phenomena like whirlpools or weather patterns, or some kind of sea monster, or maybe Nen shenanigans the gatekeepers and guardian are there to provide safe passage. What the barrier of is exactly I guess we'll find out later this arc...hopefully.

The chapter where the guides are mentioned also says there's a gatekeeper who summons the guide, with the gatekeepers being the magical beast clan. The way "The Guide" is mentioned, bolded and italicized, makes it seem like there's just 1 of them.

It's going to be interesting with the 2 groups because the Zodiacs are probably going with the safe route while the Beyond is going with the unexplored.

Yep, some fuckery must be going on in those waters.

Maybe a nen beast with a condition that they must bring what they get be either bad or good, that would explain they bringing calamities.

Togashi's art is looking a bit better these last few chapters. Maybe its because there is more of it than compared to Kurapika's parts but the shading and such seems a bit more detailed and varied.

How nuts is Beyond to go to the DC, come face to face with a zombie virus and then spend the rest of his life trying to go back to that hellhole?

Beyond going full Jack Shephard, "WE HAVE TO GO BACK"

Togashi kept the new characters to the single digits this chapter, so I guess he's serious about his concerns about not seeing the end of the series.
I think it's more that he's finally at the end of the cast for this arc. All the mafia families are fleshed out, as are the Princes and their guards.

Linne is still alive.

I have a feeling Beyond doesn't have a combat oriented hatsu.

I said recorded trips :P

That one trip with Netero, Zzigg and Linne was a top secret venture that was not documented. Of every recorded trip ever, only five have brought back survivors of those survivors only one lives today [unless you count Zombie guy in the bunker]

We still haven't met Ging's bunch of rogues that he secretly brought onto the ship to serve as backup, or the cow man's old love interest, an illegitimate beggar princess of a foreign nation with her own guard of colorful personalities.

And don't even get me started on the aquatic chimera ants attached to the hull.

Is it bad that I legit thought I missed people before I got to the Chimera Ants part?

I want a cool Leorio/Kurapika scene. It doesn't have to be an endearing Gon/Killua friendship but I want to see them interact more.

That burger looked really tiny in Frank's hands.

He's biggest guy in the spiders, he is massive.

I wonder if Franklin has something else to his bullets, perhaps manipulate them in funky ways or add stopping power to them or something. Kind of like how Gotoh could make them spin or something.

If I had to guess from his name, looks and the way his Nen seems to work I'd guess he sacrifices body parts to make them into weapons like his finger guns. Probably has an arm cannon or things along that nature.

Wasn't it stated that all the Spiders have another aspect of their power that they haven't revealed to one another?

I have a question. What are the efficiency rates for Specialization users? We all have seen the Nen category hexagon, each Nen category can use their own type of Nen to 100%, and adjacent to a diminished rate i.e Emission 80% for Enhancers, but in the same way we all have seen both Conjuration and Manipulation have 0% on Specialization even though it is one of the adjacent categories, so it should work the same for Specialist.....Kurapika has the hax eyes for 100% efficiency Nen for all categories, and I assume that the stolen Nen that Chrollo uses affects his current efficiency. How does this affect all other Specialist? I mean, Enhancement is on the opposite side of the hexagon so their efficiency rate should be pretty low...

They basically state that Feitan has other forms of Pain Packer and that they're all stupidly destructive. I can only imagine what inflicting a near fatal wound on him must be like.
