He is still around. Best way is to join the discord channel and then coordinate with the squad leader for the invite. I don't have any power in the discord, but I will send you an invite and see if it works.

Most of the weapons are really good (Apparently the Light Bowgun sucks though). They have very high raw, high elderseal, good dragon damage, and white sharpness with handicraft. They do have negative affinity, but stuff like Weakness Exploit can easily compensate. The Hunting Horn is easily one of the best general purpose horns in the game alongside the Bazelreid Rookslayer, Desolation's Overture, and Heavy Bone Horn 2. Attack Up L and Defense Up L are great songs and the horn has very high damage.
Congrats! It's kinda hilarious for me you consider 22 minutes a long fight, since I take a long ass time for most monsters. :P Can only beat a few Tempered Elders under 15 minutes consistently (Nerg and Kirin are easy to kill fast, Teostra but only with the right weapon).

If you're going for an Impact CB (which you probably should), you'll need Artillery 3 and Capacity Up, as well as any other sources of raw damage that you can get (Attack Plus, NonElemental Boost). Boosting affinity isn't as much of an issue because the phial bursts can't crit, but you'll probably still want Weakness Exploit because it's just that easy to get.

I only have 3 lifepowders. Those don't last longer than a minute.
Check other players HR before joining a quest, I guess. There's certainly a lot of luck in it.

Oh I beat him solo no problem. Problems occur when others don't even stay lying on the ground when he'S about to do a follow up move and die immideately.
You get less hits in for sure, but on the other hand you don't cart as often.

That's true for nearly all the weapons except the elder parts. It's a real shame.
Hammer and Hunting Horn designs are bland as hell in this game.
