Masterpiece episode, about time we had a real Van episode, her eps end up to real with the feels.

That slow burn at the end as she closed the door on his ass, was palpable.

Earn was a dummy to pull that "I pay your bills" line.

Dawg. He still homeless. She used to give his ass a place to sleep.

He really not shit.

Dude fucked up bad, but I cut him some slack because that whole Get Out vibe festival would have had me acting irrational as well.

Weakest episode so far, second half was just boring, I know it's supposed to be meaningful but the relationship drama just bores me tbh, I hope there's less of that. Needs more Paper Bwoi and crew. Still my favourite show right now.

Earn fucked up but she isn't innocent in all of this. They both could have handled everything before and during this thing with a lot more common sense/grace/honesty. Earn just happens to be the one that blew it the fuck up.

I just hope we get another paper boi "Charlie rose" type episode. That had to be one of the best episodes of tv I've seen in forever. The non sequitur episodes seem to be my favorites

It was so much to handle at once. Shit was super uncomfortable looking, so it's understandable to be a little off

This season is phenomenal so far. Too early, I know, but the structure doesn't seem too different from the last season, though.

where did they find a white woman that looks just like that mom from the Vince Staples video? peak whiteness

Earn knew what was waiting for him...if he isnt down for it he should have just declined. Coming along and the bitching/messing up the trip for your girl isnt helping anyone.

It's like watching Insecure all over again. You can tell who ain't shit in real life by how they react and whose side they take

Earn was just being nice. Van did shit she didn't like and she didn't speak up.

I mean, this isn't the first time Earn has acted like this. This isn't the first time he's shown the unwillingness to put up an act so why would you put him in that situation?

Man the relationship getting strained by a trip/vacation and eventually blowing up was too real. That town...whew that was some creepy shit. The fucking baby man had me dying. God I love this show.

She was definitely acting up some, but it's mostly all Earn's fault. When I look at Earn, I see the worst parts of me and what could happen to me if I don't check myself. Earn went to a top tier university, Earn is smart, Earn has ambition, and Earn thinks he knows everything. But, Earn is also a failure who rarely follows through on his grand ambitions. As a result, he walks around constantly angry with a massive chip on his shoulder. Earn can never truly relax. He can't relax when he's with the boys at the club because he feels he's better than that shit. He may be black, but he isn't part of that hood life and never can be, he's too educated and thinks too highly of himself. However, when dropped into a more higher class situation he can't relax either because he feels he doesn't belong. Whether that be because of race due to being surrounded by white folk that don't understand him or through class because everyone else is so much better off than him that he feels outrageously jealous. So, Earn just stays angry all the time and makes passive aggressive comments about everything because he's truly angry at himself for allowing himself to be in the situation he's in.

His blow up has nothing to do with the trip and everything to do with him not having complete control over his life. Earn is the perfect representation of Middle Class and up black folk that feel out of place in either world.

Sorry that i'm bullet pointing my thoughts. I don't know how to put them in to a cohesive post.

That episode was really funny, but got fucking real, real fast.
My mouth hung open when the lady came up to Earn to touch his face. :D
Earn really is an asshole. I get that it was good he was honest with Van. But fuck me, i'd kill all of you motherufuckers to be in a relationship with a woman like Van. And he just throws it away, and for what. SMMFH.
Would it have killed him to play along with that white nonsense for her sake. And even if he couldn't, he didn't have to behave in such a fucking petulant manner.
I thought Van was gonna slap her stupid fucking friend. But at the point in the evening she was too tired (in every sense of the word) to do anything like that.
The fact Van went to the strip club for his sake. Just made that fucking child look even worse.

Good Earn continuing to take the self inflicted Ls. I wonder if he'll ever be able to redeem himself.

That episode was great and really makes me wish Insecure was coming back sooner.

Also, Zazie Beats deserves an Emmy.

FInally a barber shop ep, I am shocked it took this long

So I live in Georgia, have heard Helen mentioned several times, but had no idea that shit went on up there. I blame the proximity to Tennessee.
Lived all my life here and never heard it. But honestly I try to avoid small towns I don't know in GA.

Finally caught up to the latest episode. Hate to say it--but I can totally relate to Earn. I've been that guy before, the nice guy who really isn't that nice, the idiot who can't see when his girl just wants to spend time with him and share her hobbies.

Hopefully he redeems himself eventually because his self-pity/sabotage is getting a little old. I understand it, but too much of it can be frustrating to watch.

But damn, I kinda regret watching this because it makes me feel ashamed of how I used to behave.
