Infusion questions:
-If I infused a level 1 weapon, can I still upgrade it with Shard?
-If we removed infusion, do we get back the upgrade gem?

Minor complaint: After Bloodborne rolling feels so clunky. I want my sidestep back.

Yes For question 1, don't know about 2.

Dagger weapon arts is a quickstep

Okay, Ultra greatsword movesets look great. Just watched it on Youtube.

OT but I wanna play as a dwarf in Dark souls and hide behind a huge shield that's taller than my character.

That isn't possible sadly, but still, tower shields are in the game and might be your next best option.

You don't get the gem back if you de-infuse, btw.

Probably too heavy. Going for DEX build. I just thought the image would be amusing.

It's a shame. Getting back your upgrade materials was one thing I liked about MH world.

Don't feel bad, they're all tough bosses. Maybe you can help people beat them in co-op to get their patterns down.
I always play offline in my first playthrough, it's just annoying because I don't know if I should use an ember or not since they're limited.

Feel like I'm a bit under level. Only 25 by the time I killed Crystal Sage.

Is this 4 bosses at once? Holy smoke!!
Nah lol, 3 bosses but in different areas, I just can't progress any farther because I'm stuck on all of them. It's funny since I barely died to any bosses in the first half of the game and then these three are all wrecking my shit.

I have Vordt's great hammer upgraded to +4 and I think it's kicking major ass. Should I use my one Slab to make it +5? I think I'm going to stick with great hammers for pve, they just stagger everyone.

Yeah DS3 isn't nearly as strict with slabs as something like bloodborne is with +10 materials. Especially with the DLC you'll have more than enough.

So now I can either bash my head against Friede, the Nameless King or finish the main game. Does it matter if I do ringed city and finish off ariandel before the end of the main game? Or should I just go to the final boss and then ringed city and then come back to those two bosses later?

You should defeat Nameless and Friede, and then transition into the Ringed City (you can get to it from the Friede boss room). (I mean, you could do the final boss, but it's kind of meh when you just have to go back and still fight other stuff.)

Did you give the eyes?

Did I give the what now

And yeah I'll try and try against Friede and the Nameless King. I did the same with Dark Souls 2 against the Ancient Dragon and Fume Knight before the final boss so i can do the same here. The first phase for each of them is pretty easy, it's just the rest that gets annoying. And I hate the fog gimmick for the NK.

One of the things I like about Soulsborne games is you're always progressing. Play an hour or two and you can either level up, find new bonfires/shortcuts, upgrade your weapons/flasks, kill a boss etc.
It's not choke full of meaningless sidequests.

Most areas attempt something new, like Undead Settlement is about crowd control, Road of Sacrifices is about crowd control while avoiding magical projectiles, Cathedral has the "blood loss" thing or something, Farron Keep is about getting poisoned and killed a lot then you gotta run back and try to clear the Cathedral first to get the poison ring.

Why is the Cathedral so big? Souls games take religion so seriously.

I logged back in after a while away from the game and for some reason kept getting invaded nonstop in Church of Yorshka. I'm talking 3 invasions within a few minutes. I looked at the travel menu and there were ember symbols near the name of the area. Is this something new? Was I in a pvp zone?

The game got a spurt of activity after the winter sale, and it's lasted a surprisingly long time (the game itself has never dropped out of the top 100 in concurrent players).

They added the indicators in one of the DLC patches; they show the relative activity in that area (when playing online).

As difficult as it is, at least Curse does not permanently halve your HP, and most skeletons can be killed without respawning.

Abyss Watcher. On our first meeting, I was happy for a second once I took him down, then the second phase happened and I was out of Flasks. *ded*

In Boreal Valley now. Wolnir was interesting in concept.

It's also hard to appreciate how complex his model is (it's highly detailed, but you don't really ever get to see more than the face and hands).

I think thematic fights like that are good, but Wolnir suffers from really bizarre RNG. His AI is just all over the place (he can actually be dangerous, in the rare situation he decides to chain his moves smartly).

By the time I got to this boss, my weapon can break the bracelets in 6-7 hits. I levelled up Endurance plenty, so that's within one combo + one more hit. I only died once from the poison, I thought it was the darkness that killed my character.

I'm at
Aldrich
, and this guy is such a pain. I've seriously been trying for hours and can't beat him. I can do ok for most of the fight, but his melee stuff, if it catches me, wrecks me. Or if I'm too far he blasts me with his magic. And I'm always running out stamina from dodging like a madman. It's seriously such a hassle. Maybe it's cause I'm only level 24, but I hate to level up to kill a boss. For me, it's been one of the more difficult boss fights I can remember.

1. Yes
2. No

Well outside of bb, the rolling is probably the best in the series.

How the hell? Are you constantly losing bloodstains, or what?

You are severely underpowered for this area/boss, so I'm not surprised you're struggling. Spend your souls, dude!

No, that's by design. I purposely don't level a lot when I play these games. I'm bummed I'm going to have to increase my levels to raise my stamina. I find the games more challenging and fun when I go at then lower level. In fact, a few of my levels that I have are kind of wasted and I could be a few levels lower. This is my fifth souls game so I'm fairly adept at how to get through them, but this boss.... my goodness, so annoying. (I actually got him down to like 20% health after I vented on here, I know I can beat him at my level, just don't have the time to keep spending hours playing, last time I had an opportunity to play was the day I vented on here)

If you don't want to level up get the Pyro flame and Great Chaos Fireball. It requires no stats to use and even without the scaling, that boss absolutely melts with anything fire related.

Well I mean... you're just deliberately making things more difficult for yourself here. :\ If you never even level up your HP, for instance, a lot of attacks from late-game enemies and bosses will OHKO you, which will make things brutal.

Anyway, good luck.

Is there a spoiler etiquette in here?

I just got up to
Untended Graves, and boy is it tripping me out. Being in the beginning again but not is so weird. And all of the same messages in Untended Graves are in Cemetary of Ash!! What's the reason everything is dark and the place is.... Different? I also like that you get to fight the first boss again except that he's way stronger. I've only tried once but he slaughtered me.

This is the best explanation I've got, and even this relies on some theorycrafting:

The theory is that Untended Graves is basically a world in which the flame had died out and the Age of Dark has begun. It's hard to make sense of what exactly it stands for, but there's a lot of weird interactions with the Cemetery of Ash/Firelink Shrine and their equivalents in Untended Graves. You fought Iudex Gundyr during the intro, which is a version of Gundyr that has been infected by the Abyss. Basically the lore is that Iudex (which means Judge in Latin) was an unkindled that failed to link the flame, but was impressive enough that he was tasked with being the judge of unkindled hoping to link the flame in the future. Champion Gundyr is theorized to be Gundyr when he arrived to the Firelink Shrine to find that the flame had already gone out. He is mentioned as the "Belated Champion" on an item, and I believe it's Ludleth that mentions being present for the death of a Firekeeper, saying they tried to keep her alive until her Champion arrived, but he was too late.

Champion Gundyr is Gundyr in his prime, Iudex Gundyr is Gundyr years later after being ravaged by the Abyss and having spent years and years withering away while testing the occasional unkindled one.

Nothing happened.

The fight isn't great, but it's mostly because he's so dependent on RNG (there are entire moves you may never even see, and there's no real clear trigger as to why—he just decides to do whatever he wants, and a lot of the time it's really dumb).

Helped people with Midir last night and today. Some of them were fighting him for the first time and thanked me afterwards. I love Midir. I wish bonfire ascetics were a thing in 3, I'd like to get him to NG+7.

Yes, both of you need to set the same password in the network settings. Your friend can then summon you and your stats will be somewhat debuffed.
