Midgar
He's far from the most versatile player

Aaaaand of course he scores

Even though I follow MLS, I was not familiar with Marky Delgado before this game which is kind of surprising I guess since it looks like he's played in the league for many years. That was one helluva ball to Adams.

Delgado usually isn't that flashy. But he's been a staple in TFC's midfield for much of Vanney's tenure, and is deservedly on this US roster

What else is new? That said, Wood isn't going to be starting next cycle. He doesn't have the passing or hold-up play needed to bring the midfield into the attack. I just don't get why we didn't start Rubin or Weah.

I guess the USMNT might be missing Pulisic/a creative attacking midfielder

There's a big Pulisic sized hole in the possession map for this game. They couldn't get anything going down the middle, just endless crosses.

I just don't get not playing the younger guys at this point. We should be getting guys like Weah minutes, real minutes and not just cameos. There's no reason not to just throw everyone in the deep-end for a half and see what happens. It's not like Paraguay is particularly good, it was a perfect match to give the younger guys real minutes.

I think Sarachan is too busy trying to win a job he has no chance at winning. Dude needs to realize he's just keeping the seat warm and take some risks. I'd rather a loss where we see some flashes of what the kids got than this.

Los Angeles
"El Traffico" this weekend. First Los Angeles derby ever?

Who knew that my most anticipated match all month would be a game 10 miles from my front door between 2 MLS squads. If I wasn't feeling like crap I'd go. Is Ibra expected to play?

So, small updates from Ohio:

In regards to FC Cincinnati, they have three sites still (West End, Newport, Oakley) and have failed to announce any single one of them as the final site. In part, it's because FC Cincy ownership is pushing hard for the West End site. They have Oakley ready to go but rumors are MLS is not keen on that as the location. Newport is still there as the last resort option (but not a true last resort; I'm a Crew SC fan but heck, FCC should have just said fuck it and gone with Newport months ago) and each hour makes it seem more likely that it's either get the West End deal done or Newport is the only option left that's palatable to Garber and Co. Not to mention the port authority just said yesterday that their meeting today about the stadium is postponed because they're tired of the games.

Oh, and they had a previous deadline to make the choice of Saturday. Which apparently still stands.

Also worth noting that Cincinnati City Hall is a god damn dumpster fire right now, with the mayor trying to fire the city manager, who wants to resign on his own terms.

Meanwhile, here in Columbus, shit still sucks. Precourt is full bore ahead on McKalla Place down in Austin, while the city council there is still taking their time looking into things. They passed a resolution to study the site, and the mayor thinks they'll have the team because Precourt wants it there. I've heard rumblings of some other things going on, and I can't confirm anything (and have also been told not to specify anything), but there might be news on this one way or another in the coming weeks.

I am still baffled that Precourt is desperate enough that he is willing to resort to a toxic waste site for his crummy stadium. I hope to God that the Crew stay in Columbus; not even Austin wants this team there.

He needs free land. PSV cannot afford to purchase anything in Austin, especially within the urban core. This doesn't work if he doesn't get a bunch of tax deferments, free infrastructure and free land from the city.

I wish I wasn't working today. Missed Manchester United game, will miss Dortmund Bayern game, the Red Bulls Orlando game, and most importantly, El Trafico.

I don't have dvr either, so any replay I find on the internet will have the score right on the title.

Damn, didn't know Lars was a soccer fan. Too bad hes down with San Jose.

No Dos Santos bros, no Alessandrini, and starting Pontius, they might as well give LAFC the three points.

This first El Trafico was always going to mean more for LAFC (as a home game by proxy) than Galaxy so I understand why they held them out for fitness and conditioning. It's a long season. At same time, a bit disappointing no Dos Santos^2 vs Vela.

Lletget is going to rock the MF for Galaxy. DONT SLEEP ON HIM (actually do, da boy is gorgeous.)

I am so hype for LALA ya'll. Zlatan is going to come on late in the second half and that shit is going to be fire. "BAH GAWD, IT'S ZLATANS MUSIC" "HE'S HERE, ZLATAN IS HERE" "ALL HELL IS BREAKING LOOSE"
