Idol beating Voice in the 18-34s, surprising.

First hour of idol was kind of awkward, group round was much better. Hyped for solo rounds.

Tomorrow's test will see if Rosanne can continue the trend of revivals performing well like Will & Grace.

Kevin Can Wait having better ratings than Man With a Plan remains a tragedy. Last night's episode of KCW was embarrassingly bad, especially the final two scenes.

'The Night Manager's Tom Hollander To Star & Produce 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' Remake For ITV
The Night Manager star Tom Hollander is to star in a remake of Victor Hugo's classic The Hunchback of Notre Dame for ITV and is searching for U.S. co-production partners.

Hollander is looking to play Quasimodo, a bell-ringer born with a hunchback and feared as a monster but ultimately finding love, in the drama, which he is producing through his Bandstand Productions company, sources confirmed to Deadline.

The adaptation, which has been handed a script commission from British broadcaster ITV, is being written by War and Peace writer Andrew Davies. The writer has previously worked with Hollander on BBC drama A Poet in New York.
Yeah this is hitting another one of my sweet spots. And I love how Deadline is underselling Andrew Davies, he has written House of Cards (i.e. the original version), that version of Pride & Prejudice, and just a stupid amount more highly regarded TV.
So yesterday I got Araki, today this, what's tomorrow? A new spy show? A new show from Josh Thomas?

Anyone watching unREAL still? Is it still shit?
I enjoy UnREAL still! However it is predictable, a lot of the twists you can predict the episode before they happen.

It's the same show as it was before. Season 3 (current season) is a spoof of The Bachelorette and season 4 (next season also premiering in 2018) is a spoof of Bachelor in Paradise.

They filmed season 3 in 2016 but never premiered it in 2017 and then they filmed season 4 in 2017 if you were wondering why season 3 premiered in February 2018 and season 4 is also "2018".

However, season 3 and season 4 got a simultaneous renewal and season 4 is 8 episodes long instead of the 10 of the past three seasons which tells me season 4 might be the final season (and by that I mean with the reduced episode count, they likely told them to write a conclusion for season 4 instead of ending on a cliffhanger).

I don't think it's going to happen at all. It's Weinstein.

I believe it's already been filmed.

Anyone watching unREAL still? Is it still shit?

The show has always been extremely trashy (I still can't figure out why critics were pretending it was a legitimately good show in the first season) and that's still the case. I do think season 3 is closer in quality to season 1 (i.e. entertaining and juicy trash) - season 2 was still entertaining, but it was also really dumb as well. I feel like they've done a good job at righting the course this year. (the season's not over though and it could easily go off the rails again)

An article I read about the Weinstein company said it was in limbo. Didn't have much details. I guess we'll see.

Damnit just saw hulu passed on Locke and key. That was the only thing that might have gotten me to sign up with hulu. Apparently it's still being shopped though

My problem with UnREAL is that although I enjoy it, the twists are really predictable, they like to end every single episode with a cliffhanger but you know what the cliffhanger is before it even happens.

For example, I predicted a LONG time ago that either Quinn or Rachel would sleep with August.

Another example, remember in season 2 where Rachel tried to replace Quinn and have the power? It's looking like Madison will do the same exact thing.

Really, another reporter? After the second season ended with the reporter being murdered? I wonder if anything bad will happen to this reporter... (spoiler: it will)

Also prediction for season finale cliffhanger: season will end with the "shocking news" that Everlasting is being cancelled and Rachel wants to leave. Season 4 will pick up with a brand new idea (Bachelor in Paradise spoof) where they will put both male and female on an island and then Rachel will decide she wants to come back FOR THE FOURTH TIME.

I really either need to see them use new stories, be less predictable with the show or give Rachel some character development. What has Rachel accomplished in 3 seasons other than continuously messing everything up, being an emotional wreck and getting depressed and never getting better?

I'm pretty sure season 4 is going to be the last season because:
- Season 3 and 4 were renewed at the same time
- Season 4 got a reduced episode order of 8 episodes
- Season 3 was finished since 2016 but they never premiered it in 2017
- Season 4 finished filming last Summer and is set to premiere in 2018

Why would they simulataneously renew for two seasons, premiere two seasons in the same year and have a reduced episode count for S4 if it wasn't the final season?

Alison Sweeney To Topline New Hallmark Movie Franchise 'The Chronicle Mysteries'
Alison Sweeney, who toplined the Murder She Baked franchise for Hallmark, is returning with a new movie franchise. Hallmark Movies & Mysteries has ordered The Chronicle Mysteries from Sweeney, with the Days Of Our Lives alum attached to star and executive produce.

Written by Melissa Salmons, The Chronicle Mysteries stars Sweeney as Roberta "Robbie" McPherson a novelist and podcaster who's researching the cold case of Gina DeSavio. Robbie loves the chase, loves solving any puzzle or mystery. She is particularly interested in Gina's disappearance because she and Gina knew each other growing up together in a small town. Salmons, who first worked with Sweeney at Days of our Lives and wrote several of her projects from Crown Media Family Networks, will write the movies.

I mean, yeah. The whole Rachel x Quinn frenemies dynamic is totally played out at this point too.

I don't think the show has ever been a ratings hit for them, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Deadline:Network Renewals 2018: What's Safe, What's In Danger & What's On The Bubble

I would post excerpts, but then I remembered that I basically care for none of these shows.

ABC said:
Designated Survivor continues to be helped by strong DVR lifts and a high-profile star, Kiefer Sutherland, and looks promising to return.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
is on the bubble and could go either way. But it is the only chance for a Marvel series on ABC next fall as underwhelming freshman series Inhumans is considered dead. Despite its low live ratings, S.H.I.E.L.D. is a strong DVR gainer and an even stronger international seller for ABC Studios, as well as a marketing platform for Marvel, which should help its renewal prospects.

Meanwhile, despite internal support, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World (probably) won't make it to a second season.

CBS said:
It's still early, but new midseason comedy Living Biblically looks like it may join fall half-hour entry Me, Myself & I on the list of likely cancellations, with fellow freshman 9JKL also considered a long-shot possibility.

MacGyver has done respectable business on Friday and has done OK internationally for CBS based on its recognizable title and popcorn, procedural nature. But with two high-profile reboots, Magnum P.I. and Cagney and Lacey, in the hopper, CBS will likely wait to see those pilots before deciding which reboot(s) will join the S.W.A.T. (and likely Hawaii Five-0) remakes on the schedule next season.

Wisdom of the Crowd is dead.

Fox said:
Star, is looking good, as are the Warner Bros. TV-produced Gotham and Lethal Weapon.

Despite strong reviews, The Exorcist could not draw a crowd in two seasons and is not expected to continue.

NBC said:
It's early to evaluate the chances of Good Girls and Rise but NBC brass have been high on both new dramas, which were heavily promoted during the Winter Olympics. Both have been mostly well received by critics, their ratings are OK so far, and Good Girls has a lucrative deal with Netflix.

Freshman military drama The Brave, which is well liked within NBC, and sophomore Taken do not look very good.

Great News got a second chance with a last-minute renewal last May after a softly rated first season. It has support within NBC and is well received by critics but despite everyone's best efforts, including executive producer Tina Fey doing an arc to bring in eyeballs, the workplace comedy has struggled and would find it very hard to make a case for another renewal.

CW said:
The CW will likely renew all returning series on its fall schedule, the four DC series, The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and Legends Of Tomorrow, the venerable Supernatural, sophomore success Riverdale and praised comedies Jane the Virgin— for what could be the series' final season — and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.Additionally, new midseason DC drama Black Lightning looks like a sure bet for renewal.

Both new fall CW dramas, Valor and Dynasty, underperformed at similar ratings levels. The former did not get a back order and is expected to get officially canceled. The latter received a full-season order and is likely to get a Season 2 renewal. Dynasty's ratings continue to be soft as it was moved to the lower-trafficked Friday night. But the reboot of the classic 1980s soap has a lucrative distribution deal with Netflix for CBS TV Studios, whose parent CBS co-owns the CW.

iZombie and newbie Life Sentence are on the bubble. iZombie is in the middle of the pack ratings-wise and has established fan base. Meanwhile, on the surface, Life Sentence looks like a goner, logging the smallest Live+same day viewership among all CW scripted series this season and lowest adults 18-49 (tied with Dynasty). But Life Sentence is young-skewing and has been a solid performer in delayed and digital viewing. That helped Riverdale to snag a Season 2 renewal last year; we'll see whether Life Sentence's bump will be big enough to boost its renewal chances.

I keep thinking every year was announced as the final season for The 100, happens every time.

I'm keeping up with LA to Vegas for no reason in particular, it's fine enough, I'd be okay with it coming back (though I don't see how it can sustain past even one season).

As long as AP Bio and the CW stuff hops back into another season, I'm happy. Still need to catch up on Good Girls.

Just saw that SWAT and Seal Team are getting renewed.

Fantastic news. Love both shows.
Im behind on SWAT but enjoy it, love SEAL Team so I will be happy.

Kinda sad about The Brave. Its unrealistic but if they just had the female soldier on SEAL Team instead i'd be more okay with it ending, though the lead was alright as well(was definitely the best part back on Under the Dome)

Getting in a guess early

Roseanne - 1.6
Splitting Up Together - 1.2

Sort of betting high on these

Does Roseanne count? Not really a new show but its coming back from a long rest.

I forgot we did these sometimes. Lol.

And, yes, Roseanne counts. It's a brand new era. Plus, we did the same thing for when Will & Grace came back. (And that came back to an astounding 3.0!)

My predictions:

Roseanne - 2.5
Splitting Up Together - 1.5

I hope SHIELD does go... like, ABC can make a new Marvel series if needed, but SHIELD just doesn't seem to really be going anywhere. If anything, this season feels climatic, otherwise it's just going renew and like, find new plot I guess? I think I remember them saying there's soooo many plans for it, but I just don't see it...

IGN TV stopped reviewing Supernatural, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Gotham. The lack of content on that site is depressing.

I feel like they're going to be shutting down that part of IGN soon.

I'm also hoping with the CW adding Sundays this fall it forces them to renew a couple of their lower rated shows like iZombie.

Agents of Shield is the best superhero show on air right now, and I got to disagree with the notion that it's going nowhere. It's going everywhere on so many fronts. So many developments have happened this season, and so much cool shit have gone down. People who don't watch this show needs to catch on now, because this is on a whole other level to every other superhero show.

And I love Gotham too, that needs to get renewed as well, and probably will, since the network heads are positive it got a spot on their schedule. Riverdale needs to be renewed too, although its been a mess this season I simply love it.

If you guys haven't watched On My Block (100% RT, just saying) yet, go watch it... now, because I will be damned if this show doesn't get another season.

Go. Watch.
