I have a xenoblade 2 question:

I beat the game last night, and thought it was AWESOME! Such a great game. My question is related to how the games save. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has one save game. Read through the new game plus stuff and it is very apparent that only one save is available.

If I was to lend out my card, would I lose my game save? I have the season pass and a game at the finish line. I'm concerned that if I lent it out I would lose all that.

Saves are tied to your account and stored on your system. You won't lose it if you lend your card to someone else.

Any recommendations for similar games? I've also played Xenoblade (loved) and Xenoblade X (loved, but a bit less than 1 and 2), and FFXII (didn't like it). Preferably non-MMO. I also played some Trails and Tales of games and thought those were alright but a bit mediocre.
Trails games definitely aren't mediocre in terms of story, but they're not very similar to the Xenoblade games either.

Honestly, if you want something that feels kind of similar in terms of story and worldbuilding, your best option would probably be one of Takahashi's other games - I strongly recommend Xenogears. The gameplay is nothing like Xenoblade, though.

If you still have a Wii U you might want to check out Tokyo Mirage Sessions? The combat and exploration are quite different, but I think the overall feel is comparable, and it's easy to compare the Mirages to the Blades.

Based on your preferences, you want a good story and exploration, but more on the story side? Theres nothing really quite like the Xenoblade series, though if you haven't played Xenogears thats definitely worth a look. It does look a little dated since its a PS1 game, but story wise thats probably the closest you can get themewise.

Exploration-wise, if you have a PC, Guild Wars 1 and 2 are great. Guild Wars 2 is an MMO, though its pretty different from traditional ones. It has an F2P option, purchasing simply unlocks the latest expansion, the base game is free. If you like running around Gaur Plains and finding secrets in hidden corners, definitely give it a try.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! I played TMS a while ago and thought it was a very sweet game. Praying for a sequel to that one (let me dream ;_;).

8 Legendary cores this time around? Nice nice, I can probably pull 2 or 3 Rares out of those on my current take-my-time-excruciatingly-slowly playthrough given I'm still fairly early on.
Heh. I finally got around to pulling those 8 Legendaries and got 6 new Rares instead of the 2 or 3 I expected. God I love RNG when it works in my favor. I even pulled Vale. At the start of Chapter 4! Up to 12 Rare Blades from RNG Cores start of Ch 4 with almost nothing but DLC Cores.

Finally beat the game yesterday. I was originally going to take it slow and do side quests, but since they added New game plus, I figured I should just finish it so I can start over for all of that. I still vastly prefer 1 over it, but it's all right. Now I'm just going to slowly do as much side content as possible. DLC doesn't look worth the asking price at the moment, so I might just skip that unless they show some amazing trailer for the new story stuff.

I think that's higher than the level I did him at. He does have a guaranteed kill move remember, which will kill any character.

Is level 71 too low for the last boss? The
Siren Buster
killed my entire crew instantly.
I beat him at level 68. Stack a bunch of elemental bursts on him, like 5 or so. I can't remember if they will persist through the break in the fight or not, but that break does reset being able to use Pnuema. In the second phase, if you have 5 or more bursts on him, you should bring out Pneuma, use her highest special, then immediately trigger a chain attack. This should be enough damage to demolish more than half his health bar in one go.

I just got this game rather new to the Xenoblade franchise:
1) Map seems rather obtuse and kinda hard to read
2) Why do they put random high level creatures in beginiing areas? Its rather annoying how you randomly get one shot out of nowheere

1) Yeah, the map is... not as good in this game, which is a shame because it's fun to explore but if you want to actually get somewhere...
2) This has been a feature since the first game. It was highly praised for making the game world feel much more alive, encouraging revisiting old areas, and encouraging players to stay aware. With X and 2, despite having about the same distribution of high level enemies, it's been getting a lot more criticized. Honestly I don't mind it personally but I fully understand the frustration.

Just beat it 100 hours in. I LOVED it and now I want to finally play X, but I'll wait to see if a switch remaster is coming.

I still have a lot to do before I start new game but I have a question for when I do....if I buy the DLC, will that work in new game plus, like ...will I get all the bonus items?

You get the bonus items once per save file. If you don't get the items in NG, you can get them in NG+. If you do get the items in NG, you cannot get them again in NG+. If you start an NG file, you can get the items again.

- Ch 6
- Ch 8
- Ch 10 (Requires Finch)

Glad to see they're adding more blade quests for the expansion pass. I wonder if these will be voiced though? I'm not expecting them to be but it would be a nice surprise if they had cutscenes like the other blade quests. Also, this would be the first quest ever that uses multiple rare blades in a story right? :D

I mean off the top of my head, Theory and Praxis went together in their Blade quests. But in terms of unrelated Blades, yeah I think so!

More DLC quests? I thought I was finally done with this game, after I finished NG+ a few days ago. After 300 hours of this game I was finally ready to move on. Guess I'll be going back to check uot these quests though XD

Great to see the game get continued support. Before we know it, we'll welcoming the new DLC blade.

My goal is to get NG+ done over the next couple of weeks and then put it down for a bit (finally - and I do feel ready to do so).

But I'll come back and check this stuff out at a later date. Some representation in Smash and a really cool story expansion would cap off my XC2 fairytale nicely.

Kora's quest involves some other Rare blades if you have them, but it will also happen without them.

Story, soundtrack, world and character design were all worse than in the first game. The QoL improvements almost made up for these shortcomings though. Fantastic game overall. I really dug the Pokemon aspect of it and thought it was a great addition. I just wish the drop rates for legendary Blades were less brutal. Hell, they don't even monetize that shit, why punish players like this lol?

Question for my Little brother: the first, nameless Crystal; can you get rare, 5-star blades from it?

He's willing to reroll, and i wanna make sure he,s not wasting his time

I have started Chapter 5 and I am Level 39. I haven't used inns for a while. How long should I continue turning down inn xp and minimizing side content till I'm fine?
You likely don't really need to go there for the rest of the game if you think things are too easy right now. Keep doing side content though since you won't gain xp from it directly outside of the encounters. There are some later parts of the game that have frustrating boss fights, so it's good to have the cushion if you end up needing it. I'm surprised you're that high of a level, I was at 68 when I finished the game and did a reasonable amount of side quests.

Lol at the first of the new DLC quests.

A little Nopon wants to play Tiger Tiger at Tora's house. He spends all his pocket money on it and calls it a trash game. That was some funny meta-commentary.
But then... You need to play a bunch of it yourself to complete the quest, haha.

Nice troll.

What kind of Blade composition should I have for my characters? I've just unlocked the ability to have 3 different blades at once so I've been trying to get both Rex and Nia a hlr, atk and tnk blade each. Is that the right way to go about things or not?

You can mix and match, however I'd suggest trying to load blades of the same type onto certain characters - at least initially.

Tanks are designed to draw aggro, with many having passive affects which attract enemies to their driver.

So putting a tank on Nia, someone you want to keep alive and out of trouble so she can keep the team healed, probably isn't the best idea.

However, stack three healing blades on her and she'll get a boost to her healing arts, less aggro and maybe even more health, depending on the blade.

I've been enjoying the game so much I broke down and bought the expansion pass yesterday. I decided to pop all the rare cores from it and the very last one gave me KOS-MOS. $30 well spent!

Going off how the Challenge Battle Mode notification is worded and the picture. It's most likely a post game arena where you fight new monsters. Probably even characters from past Xeno titles going off the "maybe make new friends along the way" part. Sort of like how Tales handles it. Here's hoping it's balanced for S+ blades.
