Even more Midboss stuff is coming out. I don't envy LRG in trying to deal with this mess
How much would they need to say as one-time publishers of a title produced in an environment they likely knew nothing about?

Other than a statement saying something to the effect of 'we were unaware of the culture surrounding development at Midboss detailed in recent expositions when signing 2064, but condemn it fully' I'm not sure what else they would be obliged to say.

This type of thing is horrible to watch unfold, but I don't feel like LRG are implicated in anyway, unless they were involved more directly than I've realised.

Seems likely the Vita version may be dropped though.

"He would often have people working on multiple projects at once (e.g. ports to consoles)," Lara added, referring to projects like a quixotic PS Vita port of 2064. "[He'd] then whip priorities and the developers back and forth constantly between these while complaining that they weren't far enough along. or deciding to cancel a port via social media post without anyone on the team knowing, before he changed his mind and uncanceled it."

Poor Vita and the guys that were working on the port, I feel for their employees.

charblar was one of the people who worked on the port, and she posted a twitter thread about her experiences.

I don't remember: do games available the same day guaranteed to ship together? Or do you have to use the holding service?

Planning to buy Momodora + Thimbleweed and a box.

If you have both games on one order, they'll ship out when everything is available. If you have separate orders for each game they'll ship out as those games come in. They can be combined if you prefer that they go out at the same time by filling out this form: https://goo.gl/forms/repGxElRpnhUKWnQ2

speaking of ignoring, ive noticed whenever i've asked about a physical to the Oddworld twitter that if it wasn't happening then they'd always reply and say it wasn't but if it was behind the scenes then they'd totally ignore my question and i asked them about a Stranger's Wrath physical on PS3 the other day and they ignored me

They ignore me all the time and I moan constantly about it haha

I would say strangers wrath on PS3/4 or even switch is my number one most wanted game

What I was meaning more was - do they continue with the Vita release? Do they release the Switch version I assume they were planning at some point? Will there be a Midboss left to fulfil their side of the contract?

We definitely had no idea what was going on within Midboss.

I'd still like to do Vita as we have something cool planned for it, but Switch is on hold now.

Is there even a Switch version coming out anymore or has the whole studio collapsed?

It was supposed to release in April, so it's anyone's guess really. Certainly doesn't seem likely at the moment.

Yeah, your plans seemed awesome, a shame all this has happened (I presume) so close to release.

Kind of crappy that Thimbleweed Park is on sale for literally every platform this weekend at $9.99 just when Limited Run is going to put it up for sale. I am really tempted since it's a $25 dollar swing to get the physical now...plus shipping.

Isn't that good? I love it when that happens, because I can buy a cheaper digital copy and leave my physical copy sealed.

Maybe it's just me. I love collecting this stuff...but I cannot keep these things sealed. I always end up taking the plastic wrapping off.

I haven't played Thimbleweed but love all the old Point/Click games. Is this one worth it? I've heard great things.

It feels refreshing to do that. I always figure I have so much of this stuff lying around, it won't matter if it's in plastic or not when I keel over, and modern day collection doesn't have high enough value to sit there thinking a bunch of unused plastic is a stock market waiting to be mined when the time is right. That's how I approach this stuff, I buy it because it has value to me as a gamer, not necessarily value for future potential profit. Ideally, anyway.

Completely agree. Even though 90% of these new games don't come with booklets, I still get a minor thrill out of opening them up. I really miss the old instruction booklets/maps/anything that would come in the cases. I love that LR usually does this.

me and a friend kinda have an inside joke that pretty much every dev seems to put their game on sale digitally just before it goes on sale on LRG and i think maybe 80% of their releases really have gone on sale around the time they got a physical release be it on PS4/Vita or PC

Well, the tweet mentions Vita pretty specifically, so I'd wager it's a Vita exclusive.
Possibly, but considering it was mentioned that the Vita version of Phantom Breaker specifically would have needed a rebuild to make a complete edition, that could explain the mention of testing. And it truly would be an LRG-exclusive physical release (iirc Bon Appetit got a physical complete edition in Japan already)

Can you tell me there is no chance of hellblade so I can leave it ....
No one wants to ruin the sales of the upcoming digital Xbox One release by announcing a physical release right now. It would be downright disrespectful to the developer for LRG to tease it right now regardless of whether it's signed or not. Chill for a few months while its market value as a digital product drops.

It was sold in two carts in Japan, IIRC.

How are LRG for international orders these days, specifically to the UK? Are customs charges likely or do they have regional distributors/other arrangements to avoid additional charges?

I had one PS4 game from them a while ago which sadly arrived with a smashed case and haven't bought anything since. I'd like to start buying from them again now that the Switch releases are here though.

The UK is on our DDP list, so you shouldn't get hit with any customs fees.
If you're worried about rough couriers, you can always add a box to your order.

Thank you, that's good news. I'd really like to go for the Thimbleweed Park big box edition, would I have to worry about what condition that's going to arrive in or do you take some special precautions with your special edition packaging?

Just to add I did return a receive a refund for the damaged game, although I had to cover the return costs myself which I thought was a bit poor. More than willing to give LRG another shot though.

Does LRG charge immediately when you order or do they wait until your order ships? I'd prefer the former, but I know some places do the latter.

The Big box editions will automatically ship out in a box.
