I mean, if the TV was going to have HDMI 2.1 I'd wait, but the cost of that 85" set from Sony MSRP is $5,300. EVEN at 50% off it will cost $2,650 which is pushing $3k. I'm not a big baller lol.
And from what I understand, even next years TVs won't have HDMI 2.1. That Cleveland Plasma user is a retailer that specializes in high end TVs, but then again, as a retailer you definitely want to say something like that to sell TVs.
For some reason, I can stomach $2k on the 75" and have it now rather than wait 6 more months and pay $3k for a TV w/o HDMI 2.1. I actually needed a TV years ago when the last high end Samsung Plasma (PNF8500) was phased out. Highest size at the time was 64" with 60" being their "standard" and now we're pushing 65" as the standard and 85" at the extreme end. Maybe years from now 75" will be the standard :)
