Quick question about Elderseal: is it worth it?
Should i prioritize weapons with high Elderseal or is it better to just exploit elemental weaknesses?
I thought about waiting until then as well, but I wanna get some of my sets ready for farming haha.I'm taking a break until the Spring event. Don't wanna burn out from farming.
My attack gems have all come from hunts - I think the only decoration of value I've had from melding is the mighty bow gem (and I got another from hunts last night). Is this all from melding? Did they change up the RNG after update?
If you're farming Elder Dragons, it's not a bad idea especially for the Tempered versions.
If we are, it'll probably be a subspecies/palette swap like Oroshi Kirin or Lunastra.
I'm gonna guess no, based on how slow the content has been coming out. We're in April and we've had one actual content patch :|
I mean, it's barely been 2months since the game released. Not sure why people are expecting super quick patches when the amount of work one new monster takes is absolutely massive.I'm gonna guess no, based on how slow the content has been coming out. It's going to be close, but I think it'll just barely outdo Jagras with the right augments. It being Rarity 7 is a pleasant surprise.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see how this is close at all. Way more raw, 2 augments, capable of white and still able to use elementless. Jagras as the end game of GS was already debatable and this seems better in basically every way.
Unless you really needed the slots Jagras gives you to attain a specific build, I'm not sure why you'd still take it after this.
It's far from close! This is way better than the Jagrass GS unless your build really require the gems. Higher base damage, white sharpness and can benefit from non elemental skill! -15% affinity is way too easy to get rid of!It's going to be close, but I think it'll just barely outdo Jagras with the right augments. A sliver of white is enough. All you need is protective polish or some whetfish scales and that white will go a long way.
I'm actually expecting the opposite of super quick patches. One patch in two+ months is slow as fuck.I mean, it's barely been 2months since the game released. Not sure why people are expecting super quick patches when the amount of work one new monster takes is absolutely massive.
Hopefully kirin's subclass monster brings an actual good lightning longsword. Most of our elemental weapons are assss
That's why I like Kirin. It has a relatively shallow loot pool and in my experience, as long as you break its horn, multiple Azure Horns per hunt are almost guaranteed.Drop rates for horns+ (Vaal and Kushala, at least) really, really need a patch. Breaking the head doesn't even guarantee a horn in the rewards, which is ridiculous. Horn carves are incredibly rare, swear to Satan I've carved gems more often than horns. And even with investigations with gold and silver rewards, I still get throwaway parts like claws or tails (without even having cut the tail!) more often than the goddamn horns. And of course, you typically need like, 1 or 2 tails at the most for a weapon or armour set, but you typically need 5-6 horns for the same amount of loot...
Meanwhile, you don't cut the monster's tail, and still get tails, often more than one, in rewards? What?
Last night I farmed Kushala Daora for its horns (needed a whole bunch of 'em for the weapons I wanted). I had a nice Investigation with 2 players, 1 silver and 3 gold (!) rewards. One time I did break the head for sure, never touched the tail, yet I had 2 tails in rewards and 0 horns. Capcom plz. ;_;
Oh, the worst part? I had PartBreaker 3 and focused almost only on its head, as did my friend (since I told her to focus on the head too). In one of the hunts it flew away to sleep and we each dropped 2 bombs on its head while it slept. Head still didn't break. What...
Last week or so I had similar issues with Vaal horns. I wanted to make that dope-looking Vaal lance, but of course I needed like 6 fucking horns. Breaking the head on Vaal was easier than on Kushala for some reason (even if it's harder to reach since you can't flash bomb it to ground it, have to get creative with stalactites etc.) but I'd still get like 1 measly horn+ every 2-3 hunts. It's absurd and makes no sense.

Oops yeah they're fangs for Vaal, not horns. Edited my post, but yeah I guess everyone knew what I meant. That's why I like Kirin. It has a relatively shallow loot pool and in my experience, as long as you break its horn, multiple Azure Horns per hunt are almost guaranteed.
But yeah, Elder Dragon horns, fangs and whatnot are a pain to farm. I just needed 2 Teostra claws for something; three hunts later and I only got one. Nothing as frustrating as doing an investigation with four (!) gold rewards and receiving your gazillionth Teostra Mane or Teostra Powder.
As a hammer user I'm actually very happy the game still throws tails at you in the rewards, though. :p
Yeah, I know. Still, the issue of breaking the head and getting 0 drops happened when soloing regardless. :|If you want horns, solo is the way to go. So much easier to break the head.
...Read my posts againUse lvl 3 Partsbreaker. Makes getting parts much easier for me even in SOS games.
Yep. Break values in multiplayer are jacked up. It's hard enough getting breaks on elder dragon horns, but in multiplayer it might as well be impossible. If you want horns, solo is the way to go. So much easier to break the head.
Lance, Gunlance, HBG I think. I just started playing lance and made a guard 5 set. Now I'm scared to play without guard 5 because I feel invincible with it.
I get the frustration, but you have to keep in mind the bronze/silver/gold rewards are completely unrelated to the body parts you break during the hunt. The rewards that are, show up in the bonus reward table and above each reward it shows why you get it. Like this:Oops yeah they're fangs for Vaal, not horns. Edited my post, but yeah I guess everyone knew what I meant.
I use the hammer often so I understand what you mean about tails, but it's frustrating when you carve 1 tail from the body (?!) and get 2 tails in the gold rewards when you didn't even attack it, and get 0 horns or fangs despite actually breaking the head. IMO Capcom really needs to adjust those carve/drop rates.
Try guard 3, I've found it "enough" to do everything. Never bothered trying to get to guard 5.Lance, Gunlance, HBG I think. I just started playing lance and made a guard 5 set. Now I'm scared to play without guard 5 because I feel invincible with it.
Alright, I will. Cheers! I've never used the lance with less than guard 5, so it will feel like a downgrade, but I've only done 3 hunts with it so muscle memory hasn't taken over yet.Try guard 3, I've found it "enough" to do everything. Never bothered trying to get to guard 5.
Oroshi Kirin isn't thunder element actually.Hopefully kirin's subclass monster brings an actual good lightning longsword. Most of our elemental weapons are assss
I did the same. Looking forward to Friday.I'm taking a break until the Spring event. Don't wanna burn out from farming.
......... I had a Giant crown Vaal, it was pretty much dead and one idiot comes and joins last minute just to be 1 shot with a charge, it wasn't even tempered, I don't need help on that monster but I like to share every crown I find to help any random that joins, now I gotta search for another hour until another one spawns.... T-T
I guess I better solo Vaal and as much as I don't want to it would be the same for Kirin and Teostra.
Huh, I've fired an SOS flare for 3 consecutive tempered nergigante quests and gotten no other people to join. Sure it was a crappy 2 reward quest but still. Player base might be starting to tank on Xbox One...
Do you just use R2+triangle for those kinds of guard points?Decided to give in and get Guard 3 for my CB set. I was so fucking tired of not being able to guard point -> SAED Bazel roars.
Now every time that bastard roars (which is a lot of the time) he gets to eat a shit-ton of damage. Sucks to lose Guard Up, but there really aren't that many uses for it that you can't just dodge normally.
