So if they don't kill Negan, he survives and joins Rick and the gang? Or they just let him run away and he disappears like Heath? And then he shows up again later and says "ha you should've killed me when you had the chance."

If he survives I'm guessing they will just follow the comic for the most part. He'll get locked up, sometime in S9 he will be let out my someone (who wants to get revenge against Rick or possibly someone else), but instead he will end up teaming up with the communities to fight The Whisperers.
Could go differently but considering how much Kirkman, Gimple, and everyone at AMC seems to love Negan I doubt they will alter it too much.

I don't really see what benefit there is to keeping Negan around, when you weigh it against the audience backlash that will occur if he isn't killed. I'd love to have another wisecracking badass to take Abraham's place, but people will flip the fuck out if this season does not end in Negan's gruesome demise.

I stopped reading the comics during this arc (and actually stopped watching the show too) but did keeping Negan alive make sense then? I feel like it'll be even worse on the tv show.

Does Rick die soon? Something about being shot?
Rick is still around in the comics. I doubt he dies on the show anytime soon unless Andrew Lincoln wants out.
Rick does get hit by one of Dwight's bolts at the end of the war. People think it's been infected by walker blood/guts so they think he's going to die. But it turns out Dwight didn't infect the bolt he shot Rick with.

It was kind of silly that they didn't kill him but it really was just Rick wanting to enter a new era of how they treated people and by locking him up he felt that was better than killing bringing more killing. The show most certainly did not need to kill someone to send that message.

It was also, with Negan calling Rick out on it, to make Rick look better and feel good about himself after everything as if he too wasn't some monster like Negan time and time again.

Of course, the whole keeping Negan alive was to teach Carl a different way, who was even going to execute a hospitalized Negan after the fact. With Carl gone and Rick's recommitment to killing Negan despite Carl's letter, it's hard to see them executing this well if they keep JDM on the show.

Same with The Whisperers, unless they try to shove Darryl or Enid into Carl's role if they try and pursue the Lydia apect.

I cant believe they just go to war with another group after the saviors bit.

I want to see something a little different, building the communities, protecting the boarders, the rivalry between group leaders. It could be awesome if they become well known for being a legendary safe zone and they thousands and thousands of refugees camping outside their walls, of course you know what that also means. Anyway.

You think they are gonna keep Jeffrey Dean Morgan just for some cameos next season?

Probably never, but at least they may follow through with crippling him.

Edit: So, the latest issue introduced the likely conflict to occur at the Commonwealth. Siddiq and others are likely to get wrapped up in a coup attempt against their will, and therefore implicating Alexandria and the rest of the Network if/when it goes poorly.

Possible Season 8 finale spoiler shared on the SpoilTheDead forums earlier this week...

From the spoiler ninjas -

We have heard some possible tidbits for a scene in episode 8.16. I am heavily labeling this as a rumor right now. Please keep in mind that this information has not been fully corroborated with multiple sources. It has passed the initial "smell tests" so that is why we are even posting it. However, when we can't corroborate details with multiple sources it's important to approach these with healthy skepticism. Enjoy, thirsty junkies!

This scene takes place in a large field (filmed in Manchester,GA)

- Negan and a large group of Saviors have several Team Family members held at gunpoint. (Rick, Michonne, Daryl, Carol, Ezekiel, Morgan, Jesus, Maggie, Rosita, Father G) . Eugene is also there along with Dwight who is now wearing one of those infamous brown and orange "prisoner" suits.

- Negan gives the order for the Saviors to shoot everyone. When they pull the trigger their guns start exploding, killing and stunning several Saviors. The bullets/guns have been sabotaged. Thanks, Eugene. Most of the Saviors die or are extremely wounded. A couple manage to run away.

- Negan starts running towards Eugene, ready to kill him. Dwight comes to his rescue and starts fighting Negan. They exchange a few blows and Negan eventually runs off. It's unclear what happens from here.

- There were still several days left of filming after this, so it's unclear which part of the episode this scene will take place. We don't know what happens with all the characters after this. At this time, our source said that no one from Team Family is hurt or killed in this particular scene
.
To briefly summarize...

Rick and company get taken prisoner and lined up to have their brains blown out YET again.
They get rescued YET again... this time via Eugene Redemption.
Negan scurries off like Cobra Commander to fight again another day.
Jesus loses his iconic scene from the comic books to Dwight.
All of the noteworthy good guys stay alive through the duration of the Savior War that kicked off with Sasha's death... ASIDE from Carl (who died via picking a dumb fight with a random walker).
Enjoy your 8 weeks of Gimple nonsense until his "promotion". Hopefully Season 9 can salvage things somewhat.
Finale update today from the same place...

We have now corroborated the details of this rumor with an additional source. However, this source is under the impression that EVERYONE from Team Family was there. This includes Tara, Aaron, and Enid. This source is not able to elaborate much, but did mention that when Negan runs off Rick follows him.
Sounds like you can take it to the bank. Hopefully the Fear The Walking Dead premiere can take the bad taste out of everyone's mouths.

Maybe I was wrong, but I was under the impression that scene wasn't necessarily the end of the episode? I'd be floored if they didn't learn their lesson re:cliffhangers with season six's finale.

I really hope that's not the end of the finale. If they don't kill Negan by the end of the season I'm done. The war is just dragging on now and frankly I don't really give a shit anymore.

Oof. Good grief, that description sounds awful.

I just got caught up last night and I have to say I am at the point where I am barely hanging on. The show is so bad now. Its just so so bad. They need to figure out where to take it because it feels like 2 seasons have gone by now where almost nothing has happened other than some characters getting killed in a few of the episodes.

Friend and I went from watching weekly after lifting -> having it on in the background during lifting -> quitting. I think we're finally done with the series.

Still following the comics, though.

Then you're done.

They're absolutely and 100% not killing Negan. He's a massive part of the book after the war ends.

Negan, at this point, is likely around for however many more seasons the show goes for.

That's not happening. Based on the descriptions here, it's very likely that when Negan "runs off," that is when we will see the flash forward from earlier in the season of Rick up against a tree with his leg potentially broken -- after having beat Negan in a fight and letting him live.

While I doubt they'll toss JDM, Carl was arguably a much bigger player in post AoW and they didn't hesitate in cutting that character.

TSDF have come out and said their source isn't able to do a Q&A for these final two episodes of season eight, though they will be posting all of the info they do have soon. However, they have posted a pretty detailed summary of the entire first episode of Fear season four, and it does have some spoilers for the end of this season of TWD.

FtWD opens with Morgan in some kind of self-exile at Jadis's trash dump. Jesus, Carol, and Rick all visit him individually trying to get him to come back to Hilltop, the Kingdom, or Alexandria, respectively, but he doesn't say anything to any of them and winds up just leaving, eventually finding his way to Texas. Later, he mentions to someone that - surprise - they won the war against Negan.

Tl;dr: Negan loses the war; Rick, Carol, and Jesus all survive at the very least. No confirmation yet on whether Negan dies (lol) or lives.

Here's the full summary for anyone interested:

There's a new guy in town, his name is John. He is alone by the fire, he hears a noise in the woods. He hasn't spoken for a long time. He starts talking to whomever is out there....a walker growling as it approaches him...he takes aim and shoots. When the walker falls, Morgan is standing behind it.
Morgan is at the Heapsters dump, he's washing clothes. A knock comes on the metal door. When he answers, it is Jesus.

Jesus tries to talk him into coming back to Hilltop. He says nothing. In a bit, another knock, Morgan is cooking. It's Carol.. She wants him to come back to the Kingdom. He says nothing.
Yet another knock.... This time it's Rick. He wants Morgan to come back to Alexandria..."Come back with me, you'll end up with people one way or another, come back..."
Next we see Morgan packing and leaving the dump. He walks, he runs, he drives until no gas and tires. Night and day he travels and then he is in Texas.

Flash foreword.

John asks Morgan to stay the night at camp They talk. Morgan leaves early. Morgan finds a tent with a lantern, before he knows it, someone knocks him out, 2 guys with guns. John sneaks up and disarms one, but then they both get caught. A swat truck pulls up. It's Al, (Athena), she takes both Morgan and John to safety. Shes a journalist, she asks questions and wants their stories. John talks, Morgan wont.

The bad guys show up again, there is a battle, they want everybody's stuff, (sound familiar?) There are walkers too, Morgan gets injured in the leg. Al is a badass and takes out the walkers with her machine guns. After the fight, Morgan let's her do the interview, he tells her a little about "a nice place and good people there and there was a war"..."we won, I already left before I left".. He leaves Al and John...he is walking, there is a Walker, before he can get away he falls, just as the Walker almost has him, John steps in to save the day.

He agrees to go with them till his leg heals. Someone is ahead in the road, it's a girl, she appears injured and crying, " there are bad people out here!"...They stop to help. Just as Morgan is coming out of the truck with firstaid, the girl jumps up with a gun and It'ss Alicia! Strand and Nick pop up from the roadside armed! Morgan, John and Al are taken prisoner... Al nervously asks Alicia, "What's your story?"

EDIT: TWD S08E15 spoilers from TSDF. Not 100% confirmed though.

Not official from TSDF or 100% confirmed, but it sounds very likely. It lines up with other information from various sources, promos, interviews, etc. Posted in the Army Group by Sheila Elliott.

The only thing we know for sure is Simon dies.

Post Edit: Filming reports from this episode state that Eugene was spotted in restraints walking down an alleyway with Daryl & Rosita. This seems to contradict the Sherry mention. Or maybe they meet Sherry on the way to Eugene. So.... Grains. Salt. You know how it goes.

One last spoiler bit for tonight that was making the rounds last month but was never corroborated at Spoiling Dead but tacked onto the end to what was disclosed earlier...

Negan ends up taking off into the woods and is caught by Rick. Rick takes him prisoner and puts Negan into the cell Morgan built. Rick walks into the cell and says, "This is where you die," to Negan.

The episode ends with Rick's words.

To summarize...

After Dwight comes to Eugene's aid and has his tussle with Negan (Jesus gets no comic moment), Negan runs off, Rick chases after him, captures him, throws him in Morgan's cell, delivers the above line and that's it. We'll then have the scenes with Morgan in the dump follow in the season premiere of Fear the Walking Dead to cover his departure from Team Family and both shows get a time jump for next season. Jeffrey Dean Morgan was sporting a handsome beard during the premiere press junket for Rampage last week.

Was their another time skip in the comics?
I haven't read the latest issue so I can't speak for that one, but no, there has not been another timeskip apart from the one after All Out War.

Also: Where can I read the Walking Dead comics online? Legally, of course. ATM, I go to the comic book store, buy a copy of the comic, and then immediately give it back to the guy 'cause I got no use for comics at my apartment.

If you have a library card download the Hoopla app for your tablet. It lets you borrow 9 graphic novels digitally each month as long as your library takes part in it.

There has been no major timeskips since the one following All-Out-War, though some months go by apparently while they train a military to fight The Whisperers.

TWD #183 cover revealed.

"And Michonne Without Her Sword"
It's chaos in the commonwealth… and Michonne without her sword.
https://www.skybound.com/the-walkin...alking-dead-issue-183-and-volume-30-revealed/

lol, that is such a boring-looking cover. It's like a panel from the comic. C'mon, give it some flavor. Maybe have them shake hands with a sinister smile or somethin'.
Lol ya it really is. At least the new one just revealed looks better. And the variant looks awesome as usual. I hope we see a Negan one soon.

SMH Why would she ever give her sword up. Though I thought Rick's reaction to Eugene having it was hilarious (and sad).

I think it'll be some sort of dream of Shane telling Rick just how much he failed Lori, Carl, Judith, etc. before he dies, and how he would have been better for them.

That, or it'll be a flashback to them as friends before the apocalypse.
