One of the very best 3-packs of tables for Pinball FX is finally available on Switch today.

$10 nets you 3 tables based on Doom (2016), Fallout 4 and Skyrim. It's really good, guys. Skyrim is like a pinball RPG, you're character and quest progress is persistent across plays. Fallout also has you creating a character and getting a companion with perks and completing quests, joining factions, etc, but the progress starts over with each new play. Doom is probably my favorite, though, just a really well-designed, badass table.

I was really bummed that these tables weren't on Switch and I wonder why these table just randomly appeared now, they've been around since December 2016.

But it gives me hope for Star Wars and Marvel coming over, too.

If I would buy one single FX3 package on the Switch, which would you guys recommend?

I'm pretty into Lode Runner Legacy. Don't over look it if you like vintage gaming.

Thanks for the tip! Downloaded it today and played it for about 20 levels. Great game IMO! As someone who played lots of Lode Runner in the past, this was a fantastic surprise. I might even try out the level editor.

BTW, did you see the OoT Link character model that someone did?

Just bought Xeodrifter on a complete whim because it was cheap and I had points to spend.

Is it good? I was almost doing the same thing myself with some gold coins.

To the people who want a battle royale game, there is one coming to switch. No idea when though.

Are there any videos that aren't published on April 1?

Obviously Fallout is about to be announced for Switch considering Skyrim and Doom are already on it.:P

Damn, I keep forgetting about Pinball FX. Does it work with the screen vertical on Switch?

It supports vertical mode, but currently runs at an unstable 30fps undocked, which is terrible for pinball. They have said they'll patch it to 60fps at some point during the summer... so we will wait and see.

Stern Pinball also supports the vertical screen orientation and does so while running at 60fps so it's at least playable, unlike FX3.

The Way Remastered looks awesome. Anyone know any more about it beyond the info on the eshop?

Honestly, the Bethesda pack. The tables have a lot of variety between them and the package is high quality. The RPG gimmicks are pretty unique, too. The only other table that does something like that is the excellent Epic Quest, but the pack it's in is otherwise pretty dull.

You can't go wrong with the Jurassic Park pack, either. It's also very good. But, you know, it's 3 tables about Jurassic Park.

The Aliens vs Pinball pack is solid but I think the table based on Isolation is below average.

If you don't want to spend $10 you can get the Carnivals and Legends two pack for $6, but if you downloaded PBFX3 when it launched they gave that away for free. So the next best option is the Iron & Steel two pack. Good stuff.

Finally, if you really just want *one* table I think Telltale's The Walking Dead is good enough.

And of course everyone gets Sorcerer's Lair for free, which is actually one of their best.

The Fox Animation pack is a pretty mixed bad. The Family Guy and Bob's Burgers tables are solid enough but they don't knock my socks off, and the Archer and American Dad tables kind of suck. Personally, I don't even like any of those shows, so the themes don't help.

The Universal Movies pack just sucks. Boring, bland designs. No music from the movies, sound-alike voice actors. Hard skip.

On mobile I can really expand my recommendations. Not only do they have the Star Wars and Marvel tables, they also sell each table individually. So you aren't stuck with the duds. And on top of that, all the tables are a few bucks cheaper.

It's a shame they didn't re-up their license with South Park, those two tables are fantastic. I'm also still hoping they bring back the Super League Football table they delisted after they lost the team rights. I don't even understand why it was delisted when a generic Zen team was there from the start (they sold the table with different team themes). But if you already own those tables you can rest assured that you already have some of their best!

In for Goetia, Prodigy (if it turns out good) and maybe Star Story.

I wish these ACA Neo Geo games let you play in console mode. Especially for the fighting games. I need even a super basic training mode, a command list would be nice, too. Like, what good is it for me to choose between JP and NA arcade? Blood and boob shake?

Taking a minute to port-beg here, but I'd *really* love those PSN ports of Garou, Last Blade 2, Samurai Shodown V Special and Windjammers. The netcode is actually good for the fighters and I think the online would be more populated than it is on PSN because the amount of online 2D fighters is extremely small on Switch. For now. And Windjammers is an amazing local multiplayer game and the port has a great presentation.

It's pretty much what keeps me from grabbing their fighting game releases (Outside of World Heroes Perfect/Waku7). At the very least give me an AES toggle, it shouldn't be that difficult right?

90% shovelware seems to be their modus operandi. They're not above re-skinning or releasing very similar games either.

Just FYI, Pinball FX3 is 720p60 docked and 720p30 undocked with some bad frame drops. But they're working on a patch that should release this summer to address the resolution and framerate in both modes.
Anyway you can move the camera slightly up?

The fighter ports won't happen as they're all Sony Third Party Productions titles. Basically SIE paid for them to be made (by Code Mystics) and SNK just licensed and published them. That's why they're also on Vita which SNK doesn't actually develop/invest for.

Windjammers is possible though since that's all Dotemu. Dragon's Trap did exceptionally well for them on Switch so I'm hoping to see more ports from them like Windjammers or Ys Origin.

And yes it'd be nice if Hamster added AES and maybe even NGCD support for their Neo games that had it. I'd maybe even pay a small upgrade fee as dlc for some titles.

Good to know about the Code Mystics games, now I can stop dreaming.

They publish a lot of stuff in general. Personally I'd like to see them port Wizrogue to Switch but that probably depends on if they still have the license from Taito.

You can take some solace in SNK bringing their new games at least. SNK Heroines is coming soon, future SNK games will as well and KOFXIV might some day too.

Don't Starve planned for next week.
Oh sweet!

Meanwhile I recently got sucked right back into Stardew. It's just too addicting.

"K I'll stop playing once I wake up tomorrow in the game."
"K I'll just check the mail."
"Oh might as well feed the animals."
"Oh I might as well go see if etc. etc. etc."
