This thread is about the announcement and development of the Spyro remasters and has nothing to do with the Switch. Activision and Toys for Bob have said nothing about a Switch version.

If people don't understand how disrespectful it is to have entire conversations in here about a version of Spyro that doesn't even exist, then I have to flex the ignore list again.

Make a new thread talking about that stuff. Can people please just talk about the game itself? Why is that so hard?

Outside of a demo for, i think, spyro 1 i never played the serie. September sure is stacked with games though.

So now every new game coming out we'll have a ton of people crying for a Switch version. Please stop it.

Wasn't expecting Toys for Bob to be behind Spyro Re-Ignited. Hopefully they do as good of a job as VV did with Crash N-Sane, though it does look great.

Also surprised Spyro isn't going to be a temporary PS4 exclusive like Crash does.

Truth be told, it would always be like this if any major platform were being left out of multiplatform releases. Switch is currently selling like hotcakes, so it makes sense that people are miffed when a title whose direct appeal is likely very much in line with a Nintendo audience is seemingly on the competition but not on Switch.

Well, to be fair...

But yeah, I do actually get what you're saying. I see how it can be annoying.

It just seems like every single time someone mentions a desire to having a game on Switch, you've got a ton of people whining about "so much port begging!" and thats also annoying. Makes it seem like everything that has to do with wanting a game on Switch is "begging" and that's kind of toxic imo.

Looks pretty cool but in the age of Breath of the Wild I demand burnable grass...Kameo did it back in 2005.

It's still not ok littering every thread. And it's derailing. And port begging. If they really want to do something about it create another thread and take it to twitter. We can't have this happen with every new game. It's too much.

I have a Switch and I don't care in the slightest, but if they create some sort of poll or petition I'd sign it to help out.

I understand what you're saying, but I just think it's impossible to necessarily silence everyone's frustrations, unless we put up a thread specifically for "Not (Currently) On Switch" announcements.

It looks amazing. Glad that it's not timed for any platform.

Any other 3D platformers super-fans like myself revelling in all the new games we've received this past 2 years? Crash, Mario, Spyro, Yooka Laylee, A Hat In Time, Ratchet and Clank (counts IMO)....great times.

Now give us Banjo Threeie and Jak IV please.

I'm laughing at my calendar for game releases, it's a bunch of games in September and then Red Dead 2 all by itself in its cozy little spot in October lol

Definitely! So happy to this this genre bouncing back with a passion. Spyro is a big deal for me since I never played 2 and 3, so this is 2 AAA platformers on the same day! And yes, please bring on Banjo 3!

I wonder how some of the NPCs are gonna look. Is Hunter going to get a whole host of new furry fan art?

I'm actually shocked that this seems to behappening, even though ERA has been telling me it will.

Idk, I just don't see RDR2 the huge juggernaut people seem to think it will be. Don't get me wrong, it'll be huge, but all this premature assuming that it's going to annihilate every game makes me think y'all think it's GTA6 or something. Like, I think other games releasing this year would be fine if they released close to it. Especially stuff like Smash Bros. and COD. Spyro itself definitely seems to be aimed at a different audience, so I'm sure it'd be ok too.

It'd be like thinking that Nintendo releasing New Super Mario Bros Wii and selling 30 million units means that everyone needs to clear the way and prepare for the next Zelda to do the same.

I agree with you.

On topic, I think they will announce a Switch and PC version like a year from now, kinda like what they did with Crash.

So sounds like Switch is coming too. Nintendo is weird about micro-managing announcements/release dates, they probably want to focus on Crash Bandicoot (which honestly is probably a bigger deal) on Switch first and save Spyro for future ND or E3.

Any word on Enhancements for X1X or Pro?

Way too early, expect glorious native 4K and maybe better shadows and stuff like that I guess.

I've never played a Spyro game in my life, yet I'm super hyped to play this. What a beautiful upgrade from the originals.

Never played Spyro back in the day but this looks so good! Definitely picking this up.

Spyro games are more collectathon and exploration focused. There are some decent challenges in Spyro 2 and 3, but all three games are pretty easy.

In IGN's video where they talk about the trailer with the devs they show/mention that the grass is burnable. Agreed that it's a nice touch!

So excited for this, one of my favorite series growing up.

I don't unstand the financial idea of not including this on pc as well. I hope that it makes an appearance there at some point.

IGN has a interview with the devs who say that they have Tom Kenny as Spyros voice for all 3 games!!! He was the VA in 2 and 3, but they brought him in to do the VA for the original Spyro too since he was the favorite one.
