How do you get to the lecture hall? I have gone through the woods but somehow haven't been to the hall yet.

If you've got the tonsil stone, go back to where you fought Vicar Amelia. Go down the hill -the right hand side as you enter the Cathedral, away from the entrance to Hemwick Charnel Lane - and you'll end up in a church. Stand in the middle of the church and something will happen...

To get the Tonsil Stone, talk to the person in the hut as you enter the little village at the start of the Forbidden Woods.

Oh shit... Sunhi gifs... anyone got a master list of the ones posted so far?

Also, story wise, I got as much as, you're in Yharnam to get blood to cure something, and then some nasty shit happens. I think that's about it. Sorry about the open spoilers on nasty shit happening.

Not quite. That's one of the more common places to get it, but you'll receive it at the next red lantern window you visit after you reach the forbidden woods. So if you don't want to jog back through the forbidden woods, you can always get it from the window right by the lantern in Central Yarnham

Dove back in for the first time in close to a year to check out the cut content, and it was pretty good! While I liked the Alt Moon Presence and the Great One Beast, the unlikely star of the show for me was the trio of Nurses. It really reminded me of what I'd hoped to see in the Chalices: really bizarre combinations of foes.

I really hope From experiments with an "infinite dungeon" again. There's just so much potential.

Did not know that! Is there extra dialogue depending on who you get it from?

Less is more should be stickied on every game designer's workstation. Less but more meaningful defines Bloodborne. There's less weapons but each one is fuckin sweet. Less armor but more love in each stitch. Everything just feels like it was labored over. Now when I see nine million armor sets or weapons it just gets tiresome. I just like the elegant simplicity yet huge depth these games have. Something that stands out to me is going from this to Monster Hunter World. Just so many tutorials, text boxes, weird combos etc. etc. that I could not care less about. Just so many things in the way of playing the damn game. I like in Souls games where I can just be thrown into the game, press all the buttons once and that's everything I need to know to beat the game.

The less is more approach really shows in this game when you dive into the cut content, devs certainly believed in that, especiall in their story telling, they cut a lot of fat to make it more misterious.

Every house that host anyone talking gives you the stone, not just in the Forbidden Woods.

Do they say anything different, or just give you the stone as a kind of drop? Can't believe I didn't know this.

I love how dense and detailed Yarnham is. Looking across the city and feeling like a small piece in a larger puzzle is dope.

Got the Plat last night! What a ride! Almost 150 hours in, and I am already eager to start on my NG+, but I need to get down with some other games first in my backlog.

Solo'ed the Queen myself after getting help with first boss of the dungeon. Was down to zero health vials (kept rushing and getting greedy so was taking unnecessary damage) with only half health out of 1500, and she had about 1/3 health, but I took her without taking a scratch at that point. She was actually one of the easier bosses pattern/dodging wise.

My heart was racing, and it has been a long time since I felt that with a game, kudos From Software/Japan Studios!

Congrats! Yharnam really was a bit of a pushover compared to the bosses before her, but taking out her last 1/3 without getting hit is nice.

I've had this game since I bought my PS4 a couple years ago and I played it part way through a long time ago but never finished. Now I'm giving it a serious shot, having beat the other Souls games and got the platinum on a couple of them. It took a bit but this game is starting to click and I'm loving it.

I made it to the Forbidden Woods today and I don't remember having good memories of this place. Can't wait to explore it this weekend and tear it up.

Nice! Feels good doesn't it?

Amazing game. Despite accidentally finishing the game, playing NG+ was actually more enjoyable.

I am most definitely looking forward to the dynamic of the NG+. Esocially knowing most of the ins and outs now. Also looking forward to the higher end Chalice Dungeons!

I was in the same boat. I bought the game 2 years ago and stopped playing after the Cleric Beast and Father Gascoigne. I was actually on a gaming hiatus in general up until last Fall. All the hype around the PlayStation Plus version spurred me to pop it back in, and I am so glad that I did.

What an amazing ride when it "clicks"!

So, I didn't know if this was where to ask, but I'm having trouble with the first boss of The Old Hunters on New Game+. Would anyone be willing to give me a hand?

So I have been having trouble with Laurence, tried him like 10 times and couldn't get past, even with help. Two players answered my summon, one of them immediately head-shots the boss and follows up with a 1HK visceral attack. It was the most baller thing I have ever seen.

Did you try summoning the npc? He really helps.

Unfortunately I don't seem to have the NPC summon bell for some reason.

I spoke too soon. I managed to finally get him on my 100th try. Perseverance finally paid off. Thank you for willing to help though!
Yea I'm going thru the old hunters right now. Just downed Maria on my first try and feel like a god.

I'm up for giving you a hand as well if needs be, though I'm level 170 in NG+ so I don't know if that will be a problem

When I downed Vicar Amelia on first try, going in blind, I did not feel like a god, I felt afraid the game was messing with me and the fucker would rise up any second to kick my ass.

Damn, I must be massively underleveled for the DLC...I'm only level 120 haha. If I need more help, I will definitely give you a shout, thanks for the offer.

I'm going in blind and I can't help but trying to sort of map concepts and mechanics of this game onto Dark Souls. So I'm assuming the Small Resonant Bell is like the White Soapstone. But it's not exactly the same since in DS you'll be summoned at the spot where you left the Soapstone so you'll always be around the summoner since he had to activate your sign.

But here it seems that the player using the beckoning bell will summon me regardless of where we are in the area. Sometimes I run around and I get summoned quite far from where the other player is and I have to wander around looking for him. So I gather it doesn't matter where I ring the Resonant bell since I'll appear in his world at the same place I was in my world? And if I die I'm sent to the last lamp I used?

I always put Summon Signs near the bonfires in DS but I guess it's better to ring the bell near the boss gate and just wait there in this game?

Also, is there a way to teleport between lamps without having to go back and forth to the Hunter's Dream?

Lmao I got all 3 cord pieces by accident in my NG+ run. I forgot about Iosefka until I after I fought Rom, the only Yharnamite I saved was Arianna and picked the Tomb of Oedon route because I keep thinking the damn lamp is the one with Oedon in it. And just beat the boss at Mergo's Loft. I wasn't even trying to beat the game just wanted to make a Vileblood pvp character.

Amazing, hahahaha.

I had the unluckiest run in my first/only time through the game.

Decided to alternate between sending people to the chapel and the clinic.

Arianna and the skeptic man went to the clinic. Told the distrustful man and the little girl to go to the chapel. I could only rescue the old lady, and even then I slew Iosefka before Rom lol

Yep - you always get summoned where you are in your world, doesn't matter where the other person is. Within reason - you'll both be in the same area. You survive, you go back to place summoned from, die, go to lamp.

Most people do tend to ring it near a boss, but the levels are quite short so I often ring from the lantern and see how far I get before being summoned.

Annoyingly, you have to go back to the dream to travel between lamps. Sorry!

I am with the batch of newcomers that got the game with PS+

Having a blast with the game so far, with an...exception

I am so terrified of these fucking Winter Lanterns to the point that I am postponing playing through Nightmare Frontier and Mensis for almost a week. Did you guys just froze like this with games anytime before? I fucking hate myself because of this. (Suffered the same with DS because of basilisks mimics and fucking Chaos Eaters)
