Just like the previous installments, the announcement was made at c2e2 during their annual segment. Will try to find video of this once my computer is done updating.

Edit: Video with the whole Binjpipe thingy they've been teasing for a week or 2 now.

Oh no. Then I can't have the excuse of letting someone else get to play when we play jackbox with my inlaws...

Why isn't this just treated as a games as a service rather than releasing a new one every year or whatever they've been doing? What improvements do they even make with each new iteration? Do they include all the game modes included in previous iterations and then some? Why not just add them via DLC?

And even if they do have different game modes, doesn't it seem rather annoying to need to remember which has which game modes prior to choosing which pack to launch? How deep are they gonna go into these sequels before finally realizing this could just be a unified platform?

Please not fill the pack with pointless and unfunny weird games. YDKJ, Drawful, Quiplash done.

Their PAX panel is in an hour and a half so they'll probably officially announce it there

Looks like they finally put the game that I was willing to pay for in the party pack.

You win this time.

I'm a big fan of these Party Packs and how they're implemented (everyone using their own device to participate). Big favorite when getting together.

Makes sense as an annual franchise - personally Jackbox Party Pack 4 was disappointing, I'd be looking forward to 8 player You Don't Know Jack, Fibbage 4, expanded Fakin' It, a slightly easier to listen to Trivia Murder Party (since the minigames and questions are good but the narration is awful) and a toss-up between a drawing game and Quiplash.

GAAS makes absolutely no sense for the Jackbox business model. You don't play these games daily.

A lot of the games rely heavily on either having a great audience or their execution.

Quiplash and Fibbage are ones you cant ever go wrong with in any situation.

I didn't think I was that far behind. I have the first two packs and everytime a group comes over my house we have a blast playing these. I'm a big fan of Quiplash and Fibbage.

Awesome, the 4 player count was one of the biggest oversights in YDKJ that had our group opt for Fibbage/Quiplash etc.

Well no, buf it could just be a platform they update and it'd be easier to market newer games if it just updates one day and showed new games you can add to it. There's also a game or two (drawful 2 comes to mind) that aren't part of any packs.

For one thing I wish they updated the drawing UI from jackbox 4s civic doodle for drawful, for instance.

This is a game series for the ubber casual crowd. It's more in line with something like Just Dance

Was really worried that YDKJ is going to be phased out completely. So relieved that the series is still continuing, despite the lastest title being part of the newest jackbox.

This trailer is already the GOTY.

The way it builds to its final reveal, going from bullshit Silicon Valley hypotheticals to the standard YDKJ question format, is a masterstroke of writing and honestly if the game operates at even 10% of that level of genius it's gonna rule.

Best. News. Ever.
8 players is a nice touch, as well, especially considering how they changed up the mechanics that would allow for that to happen back in... what was it, 2015?

EDIT: Also, GIBBERISH QUESTION IS BACK!!

Great to see YDKJ coming back! (Better yet, Party Pack 5 is coming!!)

I do really wish they'd make a version of YDKJ that wasn't so intrinsically stooped in American culture though; 90% of the content and jokes are impenetrable to me and my friends as a result and it's a real shame. Trivia Murder Party at least tried to be a bit more universal in its appeal and catchment though, so I have a little hope here at least...

I'm not necessarily asking them to make a British version (though that would be amazing!) but I really want a version of YDKJ that doesn't assume that you grew up in America...

The jokes, perhaps, but the content? That's debatable. Most of the pop-culture stuff is meant to throw you off your game and misdirect you from the actual question, not an intrinsic part of the question itself.

Like, to use an actual YDKJ question from one of the earlier volumes from the 90s, "If Theo Huxtable from the Cosby Show came down with a case of 'Theomania', what would he come home and tell his dad that day?", even if you've never seen the Cosby Show, the question really boils down to "what would someone with theomania say to another person?"

EDIT: Also, for those wanting to know, the answer to the question in the video is "Chance the Actuary".

I hope they don't read this topic and get ideas. A lot of us would prefer new content. Please give us new games. We already have Fibbage and Quiplash if we want to play them. YDKJ plus 4 new games will be amazing.

Just played Party Pack 3 for the first time ever. It was a group of 4 people and we played for hours. It's 5 AM right now and they left not too long ago, so that should tell you something.

Edit: Sweet Scott Rogowsky reference B-)

I'm excited to try YDKJ, I know it's in Pack 1 but I've never booted it up since most of the time I play with more than 4 people.

Beyond that, I'm hoping they include Drawful 2 and that there's a new Quiplash in Pack 5. I've basically exhausted XL's prompts at this point and Quiplash 2 is horrible so I'm desperate for a new one.

I'm so freaking happy this series is making a comeback and with all the new improvements made in their other games. One could say "I have no friends no play with" but a couple weeks ago we were playing with NintenDaan via streaming the Party Pack 3 with no problem whatsoever and had a blast. Hoepfully we can do the same with the OG Trivia Game.

It would be great if they also sold these piecemeal because I'd buy You Don't Know Jack separately just to play solo. It's how I played a lot of the previous one. I simply like trivia and the jokes are fun, too.
