Gotta say, farming for crowns isn't that bad when you aren't doing one quest over and over again. Being able to change quests and still farm is great.

You mean the Spinning Bludgeon? (Level 3 charge + movement.) I only use it in combination with a triangle input on the first opportunity (Spinning Side Smash), because you can link into your standard triangle combo (Triple Pound). But I use it very seldomly.
What I usually do is press R2 and release it immediately to use the Charged Side Blow, which I then link into the Triple Pound (normal) or Big Bang (when the Charged Side Blow downs the monster). You could also choose to hold R2 to go for the Charged Upswing, which helps you cover ground, but has the setback of not linking into the Triple Pound (only the Big Bang).
Note you can charge and evade roll at the same time. The evade roll does set your charge level back to 1, but this is actually very handy because that's the level you want to use for your standard combo (R2 > Triangle > Triangle > Triangle > Triangle).
And yeah, only use Big Bang when the monster is down, since you can't evade out of it. Stopping midway is viable (if you see the monster goes critical and you want to capture it for example) but if you flatout miss because the monster moves, you're locked into the ending animation and that's something you want to avoid.

Those arena quests you mean? As far as I know they are just to practice for an upcoming (Japanese) tournament. Haven't read anything about better drops or special rewards.
No idea why there are three of them, though.
I just killed a Tobi out of pure hatred since it wasn't nearly big enough and surprise surprise, it was the mega crown I was hoping for hours ago, if that counted then I could had that crown so many times before.

I've got two warriors blade stone and I'm torn between Arcanaria (with health recovery twice or once plus affinity) or that sns made of random parts and wyvern gem that benefits from elementless (edit: it's called master bang, I think it's a very fine weapon, would probably go for affinity on this one). The thing is I only use db for bandit mantle farming and I don't really know how to use sns good.
I've also got a sword type stone that would probably go to the ignition if I ever got another one. But I don't either really use gs or ls.
These are my first three stones and I've got them all today, I think the spring event brings a buff to drops or something.
Is health recovery augmentation really useful and noticeable?

I was hoping for horns on, but got a gem on kushala. I think it was only the third time I fought it.
This is so sad to hear. I would party with you, but I'm in a different time zone (GMT +8). I only managed to party with Era once.....and that was about 3am my time.
I use health on all melee weapons at this point, it's fun. In general I use affinity on weapons with more than one augment.
So tried Tempered Jho again, this time with the GL. Captured him in 31 minutes, but still two carts... I'm sure I can do better than that.

Anyway for SnS, I recommend using the Blade streamstone for Jho SnS instead of Master Bang. it have similar Raw to Elementless-gemmed Master Bang and can get White Sharpness with Handicraft. The Dragon element also benefits from SnS fast attack.

As ObstrucT says: mine in Elder's Recess. Only the blue nodes, though. If you can, use Geology (level 3) to be able to mine every node four times.
I used the Elder's Recess gathering event quest, with all the tempered elder dragon tracks, to farm them. That event should be available again now. Really easy way to mine a ton of nodes.
My only regret is that Lavasioth is now eternally linked to this great moment. Fuck Lavasioth.

Event Quests rewards you with materials to make the Wyvern Ignition Great Sword, and some armors.

I hate Kushala so much. So so so so much. Nothing feels worse than failing a quest because you ran out of time. I just can't get close to him. Maybe I'll switch to the bow. Oh well... at least I finally feel like I'm getting the hang of this game.

Grats I kinda lost the fire to get this completed now.
Earlier I while helping a buddy I ran into what appeared to be a white rabbit with pink ears which I never seen before and couldn't catch it in time. So later on I went looking for it in the same area and got it.
We all hope it doesn't go away soon, although it was quite funny:)
What are these festival bounties? My regular bounties are all expired and nothing seems to have updated.
If any one still has it, the limited bounties unlock once you do a hunt. I had to do an event hunt to make it show up.
Does Val haz hit with any other element? Dragon? My set has thunder -12 and dragon -4 but i can't tell which monsters hit with which element.

Mining Urugaan during a knockdown has a high chance of dropping them and is more fun than farming mining nodes.
I'm guessing a few people won't know that this is a thing!
You gotta visit the gathering hall once, go through the tutorial and then they will appear at the Research Centre.
Just made it to 50. My internet is out but i solo'd temp kirin. He's such an asshole but i geared up. Ran with the jet gs, free element, multiple thunder res and antipara decorations. Only carted once because he stunned me in a corner.
I got thru by but being greedy. Just one shot to the head and run, no charge. Took 28 minutes.
I don't know if i can tackle the other tempered elders solo. But this blossom festival looks great.

Are the daily missions going to be the same each day, or are they going to change? I'd really rather not have once-a-day Jho.
But then I'd have to get more stones AND use them on affinity because I already have more negative affinity weapons than I care about.
I guess I'll try and learn sns anyway, as both blade are fast weapon types, and try out the health recovery mechanic with either of them. We'll see.
Why does female armor suck so much?. Rolled a female char since I couldn't make the male options look anything like me. All those posts I saw about the character creation being ass for people of color were true.
I thought the armor just sucked for low rank. But nope just saw what I have to look forward to and nearly all of them look horrible. Would use the character edit voucher but my hunter has a female name ;_;. Really hope they add transmog or give females actual helms. Instead of whatever bullshit most of the head pieces are now.

It's pretty much just a matter of time now that the game has a worldwide audience, in my opinion.
Japanese players for whatever reason never seem to really get out there and beat down Capcom's doors about quality of life features, so there's a lot of stuff in the game (even with the massive improvements from previous titles to World) that's just bad because no one ever bothered to complain loud enough before.
Okay cool. I did the Snow and Cherry Blossoms quest a few times and got some tier 2 investigations.
For this event, is it worth going through all the event quests (even the low rank ones) or are there some to focus on? They don't have any rewards listed so it's difficult to know which to do...
They're different; today you have to hunt a Paolumu.
Speaking of these limited bounties: I don't not mind the daily ones at all, but I'm bummed they replaced the weekly ones, basically denying you two Gold Wyverian Prints.
If you don't have any level 2 investigations, this is good, but if you do, I found you can collect them faster by doing investigations and killing/capturing monsters.
Yea I'm hoping they at least have those in one or two of the daily quests.

To be honest its worth checking a YouTube guide, I can't remember them all off the top of my head.
1 or 2 give specific weapons and armour you can't get elsewhere (E. G. Every hunters dream which is 5 Star gives you tickets to build an awesome great sword)
Some make it much more likely you'll get golden crown sized monsters (either particularly big or small). Only matters if you care about the crown achievements.
Some have secret higher drop rates, E. G. Tempered deviljho which is 9 star, may drop end game stones for weapon augments more often than normal.
Edit - some also do sod all special or can be used with bandit mantle for zenny farming if you want the millionaire achievement.
