Ohtani is not going to homer in every at bat, no. But folks downplaying the guy so much and talking like he's a AA bat are fooling themselves.

I don't doubt Ohtani will come crashing down to earth in a matter of time, but the upside is he is dirt cheap and team controlled for like 6 years right? I mean even if he's a mediocre pitcher or batter, it's not much loss for the Angels. The only downside I see is that they didn't make any big pitching acquisitions in the off season potentially because they were banking on Ohtani's success on the mound.
