I legit didn't know if that was new or old footage at the end there. Well done.

Have not seen this season yet but is it CW levels of cheap?

SHIELD has way better VFX than the CW shows most of the time (CW tends to save a lot of their budget for the big crossovers and finales to make those actually nicer tho), if you saw the last season then Ghost Rider is a pretty obvious of that, but in exchange (because SHIELD certainly has a lower budget than the CW shows) they basically get pigeonholed to more indoor-sy sets or reusing a few sets A LOT.

As the amount of powers in the show have gone up their use of outdoor scenes has gone down, with Season 1 having by far the most outdoor scenes (like literally every episode has lengthy outdoors scenes IIRC) because of significantly lower VFX usage, and every season after that getting less and cheaping out on them (either by re-using the same set multiple times and dressing it up differently across seasons, especially when it comes to people's homes and what not, or keeping the outdoors time to a minimal before transitioning to an indoors set).

Personally, I'm fine with it. Yeah it kinda sucks when you recognize similar sets and stuff, but I really enjoy the powers actually looking on point and top notch in this show. The Gravitonium looked good, Absorbing Man looked on point this episode, and Yo-Yo's arms looked flawless.

I love how shit from season 1 finally pays off. I had faith the SHIELD writers would wrap that up eventually and here we are!

Lol, Xenablade Chronicles still thinks she's gonna be the destroyer of worlds?

Went back to see how things shaped up with the last appearance with Quinn, reina and the gravitonium. It works out, in the 1st half of the season 1 finale. Best guess as to how Reina could "know" what was going to happen, I can only guess it was another crazy thing said by Garrett, post-Kree syrum.

Also, doing so lead me to watch the 1st five episodes of season 2. Miss Tripp and Hunter. Bobbi just got on the scene in that 5th episode. Lots of Fitz issues on hand, as he's trying to work back from his injury. Also remembering the little glimpses of his darker side (torturing Ward). Think I remember him going to dark places in his search for Simmons in S3.

It does amaze me that the writers are able to pull so much out of, what appears to be, a nothing budget. They just keep hitting high marks on the story over and over and over. They're writing like the show is going to be cancelled every season, and it's awesome. (Please don't let it be cancelled!)

I catch up this show on Netflix. Pacing is really good, plots move quickly make other Netflix shows look worse in comparison.

Goddamn this show just keeps getting better. I really really hope for another season, even if this one is all set up for a grand finale of the show. I don't care. Give me an aftermath season with a few cameos, story wrap-ups and one or two problems to solve apart from the end of the world.

And then, another one. ;_;

Finally watched the episode, Raina cameo was the best

Also this episode is yet another reminder that Jemma is clearly the perfect match for Fitz, girl is crazy

Probably old already, but the show is rumored to have been renewed!

https://www.cbr.com/rumor-agents-of-shield-renewed-season-six/

The rumor stems from Movie Tech Geeks, with the site stating it's received news of the show's renewal from three sources, including Disney. Interestingly enough, according to the site, along with a renewal, the show looks to be headed back to its original Tuesday time-slot after airing on Fridays for the past season.

This season really felt like it could have totally been the end of the show if they needed too.

You know what's occurred to me?

DISCLAIMER: Yes I know we're all aware the TV world will never properly link with the movie, we know the politics involved, but hear me out.

A lot if being made about Infinity War's campaign being the biggest Marvel marketing campaign of all time - and understandably so. But wouldn't it have been nice (again, I know it's a pipe dream) if just for this we could have seen some kind of interaction? Thanos is looking to destroy half of humanity - Agents Of SHIELD are literally chasing crayon drawings. It's such a shame. As someone who has been with the series from day one, through thick and thin (the first trailer and people thinking Mike Peterson was Luke Cage, or theorising Coulson would become Vision) it wouldn't have hurt the movie division to send across just a couple of actors (Cumberbatch, Freeman and Gurira for example have expansive and ongoing TV experience, Samuel Jackson has dipped his toe in the AoS pond previously) to give things a little nudge.

We have tie-ins with the comic division, it's a shame we can't see the TV and movie divisions co-exist more.

Does Infinity War Need it? Not in the slightest. But it would help add a little legitimacy to matters. We were told they were all connected, we're well aware they aren't really - but it wouldn't hurt for them to push just a little something towards the TV realm.

Again, it's a dream I know. But it'd have been great to see.

They will definitely be tieing in the Movie stuff with the show. Just not the way you want. The show had huge changes after Winter Soldier came out and even some minor stuff like them sorting through the rubble after Thor The Dark World.

Sturoboros Id probably Bold that instead of using the red font btw

What a fantastic ending to that episode. Knowing it was a cut scene makes it even better. I still think we'll see Quinn again for real though.

I adore how important season 1 is to the second half of this season.

The best part about it is those of us who said part 1 of Season 1 meant something are now dancing a little bit.

Yep!

I'll never understand the "skip season 1" people.

First of all, the poor quality of it is exaggerated. Yes, it had a rough start but the Gravitonium episode was fun, "The Well" was interesting and told us more about Ward and May as characters and "F.Z.Z.T." gives us an early hint of the greatness of FitzSimmons and the characters that play them.

Second, it doesn't take that long to get good. Really. The show actually starts to find its identity a few episodes before the Winter Soldier tie-in with the train episode, the introduction of Garrett and the fun Sif episode.

Third, so many moments regarding the characters are much more rewarding if you've seen season 1.

It's a fun but flawed season of television and worth watching, especially if you're doing a Netflix marathon.

I'm liking the "How Are We Still Fighting Nazis?" due to it being so meta; however, the "Small and Active Fan Base" would be a great temporary title if ABC/Disney orders the show for a sixth season. It'll be a nice way to rub it into the haters, lol.

So they landed outside that one secret base from S1, right? Where Ward killed one of the Koenigs?
Fitz, Simmons, and Yo-Yo are like... the worst people to go on a mission. One has new robot arms, one is in the middle of a psychotic break, all three are convinced they can't die.

Shit's going south real fast.
Fitz is pretty together. That episode was when he'd fully accepted that he and the Doctor are one. It's why he says he doesn't regret it. He's accepted his actions and reconciled the other side.
Huh, definitely did not expect those two to cameo. The fact they kept mentioning that Quinn had "gone into hiding" made me figure they were doing their best to write him out. And Raina has obviously gone on to bigger and better things than an alien porcupine.

So with him confirmed dead, Gravitonium back in play, Deathlok popping up again... what's that leave for loose ends? Blizzard, the Senator's brother, and Ghost Rider is just about it, right?
Ghost Rider's not really a loose end. He was like "yo dimensions and shit."
Lash murked them all or Hive converted them and then they scattered.
Yup, this is the last time we saw them:

This scene foreshadows like, literally everything.
I bet they were just looking for a reason to use it
THE BEST EPISODE OF THE ENTIRE SHOW
Which one is that again?

No but like

What happens?

LMDs run amok, and they still haven't found the LMD mole that is hiding amongst them. Fitz and Jemma are smart enough to deduce that the LMD mole has to be one of the two of them based on what they know.

tumblr_olzqoqDX3j1u2rlzzo5_400.gif

It's soon revealed that it is Fitz who is the LMD mole, and almost gets the upper hand against Jemma. But Jemma manages to prevail, and has to like stab LMD Fitz multiple times in order to kill him, which was super awkward for obvious reasons. Fitz's cold glare at the end of it didn't help either...

giphy.gif

Meanwhile Daisy's doing her thing, trying to not die, runs into a bunch of LMD clones of herself, which was just a crazy sight

tumblr_olspvoiGfR1tb1s1bo2_500.gif

She freaks out a little, eventually fights her way to Jemma. Naturally, neither can trust the other right now. But they gotta make a decision soon before the other LMDs show up and kill them. But it's okay, because they have the power of friendship vibrations! Really beautiful and creative way to use her powers tbh

giphy.gif

Daisy kicks some more LMD ass, capping it off with a Rasengan vibration, which was hype as fuck:

quake-1.gif

Then in a stunning display of autonomy, LMD May finishes her arc by making the decision to blow up the entire place, in order to kill the remaining LMDs.

giphy.gif

After their escape, Jemma and Daisy plan on hacking and heading straight into the Framework so that they can save everyone. We find them in various positions, several of them being shocking such as:

Jemma is dead in this reality.

Simmons-grave-in-the-Framework-on-Agents-of-SHIELD.jpg

May works for Hydra

giphy.gif

And of course, they used this opportunity to sneak in Ward AGAIN (and threw shade at Lincoln too tbh)

giphy.gif

Oh, and Radcliffe dies and get put into the Framework due to Aida coming up with a clever but twisted way to maintain the orders she's bound by

giphy.gif

And this all happened in about 40-50 minutes. Just fucking insane.

Yeah in my mind that was all over a bunch of episodes. Can't believe that was the finale of the second pod.

Man I wish they could've done 3 pods again, but I get that their budget probably restricted it.

That reveal of the Triskelion then seeing it is Hydra blew my mind. Makes me want to watch the episode again just for that montage.

That was so good I audibly gasped. I wish I could read the reactions of that moment. I guess they're on GAF or deleted, eh.
Still don't get why the gate detected 4 LMDs in the previous episode despite Daisy not being one (I guess "scanner"s faulty" but just for her, lol), nor how Robot Mack couldn't find a live breathing human among lifeless androids when it was established they can scan shit with their eyes, but whatever.

Also, Aida >>>> Ultron

Been thinking about this whole invincible angle they're going at, and I think they setup the payoff in this last episode. Mack asked Yoyo something along the lines of if she ever considered that she may have made it to the future because he sacrificed himself for her. I think that Fitz, Simmons and Yoyo are all safe, and Mack may be the casualty of their madness.
