Yeah I wasn't expecting too much, but at least some more maps and heroes. They really fucked this up. Would have been to easy to make a GaaS with cosmetics only and the Star Wars license similar to Overwatch ... but they had to get greedy.

EDIT: Ah man, HvV gets more fun the more I play it. I didn't bother with this mode for a long time because of all the AFK farmers and I didn't really like what I played the game launched. But now it's great fun. I stuck to shooting heroes, but now I am trying to get into lightsaber-characters. I have to say all the Villains feel great, brutal and beastly in their fighting styles. Sadly I can't say the same thing about the Jedis. They all feel really weak compared to the Sith, except maybe Yoda who seems like the best of the bunch to me. Maybe I should play more Chewbacca? ;)

Yeah, it sucks to see how greed fucked this game up, it could have been getting great support by now and there are so many things you can put in loot crates that don't affect gameplay at all. Cosmetics, from hair styles to hair colors, different races, faces, they could have included emblems and player cards with so many different pictures or logos from the SW universe, or similar to PvZ they could have had a sticker book or trading cards that you collect, emotes, diorama similar to the first game unlocked through crates, victory poses. I can continue on and on because it's Star Wars, people love SW and would have eaten it up. Ah well, what can you do.

Yes, HvV is amazing when you don't have an AFKer or a team full of runners who just escape and run away from battle when they're the target. It needs some balance work still though but it's very fun.

I mean there are like 50 Clone Trooper armors alone ... let's hope for Battlefront 3. Or maybe they even can turn this one around.

You guys are nuts if you liked the Outer Rim DLC.

The entirety of the DLC for BF2015 should have been part of the base game, and each DLC pack was super tiny and laughable compared to what other games like Battlefield were getting, but the stuff in Outer Rim was pretty good.

Bespin is still the best though.

You would get way more content in your BF4, BFH and BF1 DLC than the BF2015 DLC. And to make matters worse that game released with a criminally low amount of maps/content.

Not sure why DICE wont just treat this series with the same dedication they do with Battlefield.

(This is content wise only, because they suck when it comes to balancing in Battlefield too)

I don't know if it'l be worth it for them to really turn this one around at this point, so much negativity surrounding this game that it might just be best to pool those resources into making an amazing third game. We'll see I guess.

Yeah Battlefront 3 towards the end of 2019 close to Episode 9 sounds about right. They could simply take all the content from the second game and add a ton of new stuff. Would be fine by me.

Yeah. The 2nd DLC pack for Battlefield 1 was almost as big as the base game of Battlefront 2015.

With exception to the balance breaking items Outer Rim was awesome. Great map design that worked well with the core mechanics. Bespin, Rogue One, and Death Star were fucking shit. DICE had no idea what kind of game they were making.

As painfully content lite as the base game was, I enjoyed the shit out of Battlefront. Great fun.

I was eyeing off Origin key prices today for Battlefront 2. Still don't really want to pay AUS $40 for it.

Yeah, Outer Rim was top notch.
Out of all the DLC it had the best heroes, the best maps and the best mode.
This is still my ranking:

1. Outer Rim
2. Bespin
3. Death Star
4. Scarif

I really liked Outer Rim, Extraction is hella fun.

I just finished the last 5 hours of my BFII trial, thinking about picking it up now on PC. It's £49.99 on Origin, CDKeys has it at £27.99 but it's out of stock and Amazon has it at £17.99 - But it's a code in the box so I couldn't play right now. Hmmm.

Wait until it's back down to $20 or less. Origin has a sale on it every other weekend nowadays, especially with Solo coming up.

Outer Rim had the best maps in the game. Extraction was amazing (should have been a full, non-DLC Mode) and the heroes were great. Greedo was a glass cannon, and Nien Nunb had the most unique playstyle of all the 2015 heroes. Outer Rim was amazing.

However, the game was completely broken for at least a month after Outer Rim launched. Remember how progress got all messed up and DICE had to de-level everyone in order to fix it? Ouch.

But still, Outer Rim was some of the best content in BF2015. I'd love to see absolutely all of it in BF2017.

Outer Rim was good content wrapped in a boring package. BF2015 players wanted new locations because the same 4 planets were getting boring, and Greedo and Nien Nub being the first heroes added was kind of a joke at the time.

Still is a bit of a joke that those two jobbers got added in and still no Obi Wan.

Nien Nunb is a AAA+ tier character choice. His omission in Battlefront II is some grade A fucking bullshit. Also where the fuck is Dengar?

All will be forgiven when Obi Wan rides into town with a glorious mullet, however.

You won't regret it. Great atmosphere and the game is a great package and amazing all around.

It's great and far from dead. In fact, I noticed an influx of new players the last week or so. Game on sale and new progression system seems to be working I guess. And even before that I never had any problems getting in to matches (PS4, EU)

Thanks guys.
Bought and played some online matches during the weekend and yes, it's not dead! Definitely a better package than the first. Only played a bit of the campaign tho...

I am having entirely too much fun just loading up Arcade and sniping fools on Bespin. The new progression system is very nice as well. I just need Starfighter/Heroes vs. Villains stuff in Arcade and the game will perfect for me.

Still is a bit of a joke that those two jobbers got added in and still no Obi Wan.

I refuse to let this Nien Nunb slander stand! The Nunbster is a galactic hero! He was involved in the destructions of the second Death Star and Starkiller Base and is one of a handful of people to take part in the Rebellion and the Resistance. What did Obi-Wan do beside suck so hard he created Darth Vader? #NienNunb4Lyfe

But for real, my dude Nien becoming a Battlefront hero before old Ben will forever be weird

Solo content, when? We already have two millenium falcons, but I wouldn't mind a third one with Lando and the Robot as pilots :)

I didn't put much playtime into Nien Nunb because he doesn't gel with my run-and-gun playstyle, but I always appreciated how differently he played from every other hero in that game. The closest thing the BF reboots ever had to a true engineer class.

Greedo was my boy, though. Holy hell, was he fun to use. Low survivabiluty with seek-and-destroy-type skills. Run into a fray, pop some dudes, then get the hell out before anyone realizes what just happened. That was so much freaking fun. He'd be mincemeat in HvV 2017, though.

I liked the Death Star DLC the best because it loaded instantly in between phases in that one mode.

Can you not play against bots online with a partner? Why would they make it local only?

Rey&Chewie falcon is pure tank. I like it. I agree that Han Falcon is a bit useless.
EDIT: They totally should make the Falcon a two player vehicel where one player can join and take the backseat blaster to shoot behind it.

This would redeem it. Its kinda baffling that one of the abilities isnt to use the turrets to shoot behind you. They already have that mechanic with the clone fighter and the Y-wing, why not add it to the Falcon?

I heard—I can't remember where—that originally The Outer Rim wasn't going to have ANY Heroes attached to it. But since they already had the heads for Rodians and Sullustans in the game, it was a no-brainer to make Greedo and Nien Nunb to satiate that need and head off criticism.

Having said that... Nien Nunb was my main. I loved the way he played.

Also, Extraction was one of my favorite modes in the game, followed by Sabotage on Bespin. Jabba's Palace was one of my favorite maps as well. So anyone that smack talks The Outer Rim DLC has to deal with me.

Jedi Mullet Obi Wan is the goat tier Obi Wan. If they don't deliver on the mullet then we riot.

Honest question, do you guys like OT Obi-Wan or Prequel Obi-Wan more? Prequel Obi Wan is my fav light side character.

Yes. This game needs a steady stream of content. I don't care if we get a Solo Season first or if we get a Clone Wars Season first. I just need more and I don't care which one gets the April/May slot. I played Starfighter Assault over the weekend—my favorite mode—but it is getting stale for me. It needs more maps... NOW! And if Solo will provide some cool space battles. Bring it. If CWs has sweet space battles. I need it yesterday. Just release a season. ANY SEASON.

Also, this:

So from the trailers for Solo I guess they could add Corellia, Mimban (swampy planet), the snowy heist planet or Kessel(?). Probably only one or two so I'd lean Corellia and Mimban.

And yeah, I'm 100% convinced it's Solo. Makes too much sense from a larger Disney corporate synergistic standpoint.
