I'm at this point now. She really needs to chill. Rolled my eyes when she started crying. Sure she has a point, but she isn't giving the dude a chance to process it all.
Yuudai isn't capable of processing it anyway.

I don't think it was particularly aggressive. She's just exasperated that Yuudai doesn't know how to function as an adult. The encounters with Nacchan and Cheri in the previous seasons were way worse in aggression.

Yuudai is a fascinating human being. I've never seen a person act like he does at his age. Like.....there's being immature, and then there's being Yuudai.

Finally finished the newest batch of episodes

Yuudai..

I was okay with him having two pandas in his bed but asking your ex-girlfriend to take care of you - for example by helping you with putting on socks (!?) - and wanting to go on a date with her on Christmas day because Ami gave you a deserved L is fucking creepy

Hopefully he'll leave the house in the first minutes of the next part

Well, looks like Tsubasa's thing paid off... or not. Still think it's doomed to fail, unfortunately. Maybe showing her boobs like YOU and Tokui said will help... lol
Lost my shit when Nakamura shaved his stache hahahaha, he looks pretty handsome without it actually.

How long were the breaks between "seasons" with Aloha State? Any idea how long it would take for us (in the rest of the world) to get the second batch of episodes (I know they are not quite done yet in Japan)?

She was really, really drunk at that point iirc.
I didn't notice that. If she was then I understand.

True.

I think it was, if my friend acted like that I'd tell her to chill.

I doubt that's the case. The panel didn't pick up on this, but Shion admitted that his interest in her faded because she didn't express any interest towards him, despite him trying pretty hard at first. Now that she finally showed him that she cares for him way more deeply then he realized, it clearly flipped a switch. I think they will be a pretty successful couple when all is said and done. She's way too shy and insecure, but now that this happened I'm pretty sure Shion will force things to move along. Either that, or Seina steps in and sorts shit out.

As for Taka, he looked amazing, I wish Ami reacted more to it, but that is obviously not in her nature. She needed Seina to step in, but even that flew right over her head.

Tokui's universal theory of rocks/relationships was a great segment. I also enjoyed Reina's obvious disgust at the ex-boyfirend coming to Japan just to "get some".

OMG Imai Hana cameo. Also, I can watch Tsubasa and Shion talk for hours, they are so fucking adorable.

I don't think it's a case of it going over her head. It seems like she isn't all that interested in Taka. But it's just so hard to tell because she doesn't have much of a reaction and is just so passive most of the time. Oh well, Taka tried. And with the nudge from Seina, he was able to be a lot more frank about it. If she still doesn't get it (and turn him down if she's just not interested) then I dunno what more there is to do there.

I've warmed up to Seina a lot more in the last few episodes. They've shown less of her obnoxious loud side and I like that she's tried to help the other potential relationships along.

Tsubasa and Shion... well... let's see how this goes. Tsubasa's always been shy but I'm kinda amazed Shion couldn't work out she was into him if that was the reason for him to losing interest. Geez, I thought he was a player who'd just go for it no matter what if he had someone in his sights.

Going through In The City again... I had completely forgotten how boring the show gets after Uchi/Minori leave.

I guess the show got really lucky with the perfect storm that was the first half of the show (assholes/romance/poor sap with a hint of fighting), and the first part of the second half just can't live up to it. Arisa is incredibly boring and I'm glad she is leaving, and I wish they would exclude people joining the house who are already in a relationship. And yes I remember the show gets better again after this stretch.

A question for those who had been watching the show for a long time, what was the reaction, back then, to Uchi's meat drama?

Dude overreacted for sure, but it was important to him and the others should've respected that rather than cooked it the wrong way and then eaten it without him, LOL.

I disagree with the fact about people already in relationship, i think they can bring something else to the show because they are not actively trying to get romantic with someone, they are working on their own thing. Remember, the premise of the show is to see how 3 guys and 3 girls live together, and what they want to achieve during their time there.

You are right. I tried to come up with a response to back up what I said, but the more I thought about it, the more I realize that "luck" is the main point of the show. The producers got lucky with Handa and all the drama with Natsumi, but thats how it works in an unscripted show. I guess its all about rolling the dice, sometimes you get Shota (Next Door) and sometimes you get Handa and that perfect storm of drama.

I mean, Hikaru and Misaki were both single, and their "romance" was just sad lol

Hilarity at first, soon to be followed by compassion because it was clear that Uchi was bothered by way more things than this.

The commentary over it was hilarious in the show though.

It was funny, until you realized they could've at least cooked the damn thing while he was around so he could've, you know, eaten it too lol

But I agree on the fact that I wouldn't see more than one person who is already in a relationship especially if other members are more there to find love

I had completely forgotten how ugly Natsumi's "intervention" was in In The City. The girl was difficult, but that was incredibly messed up by the house mates. Specially Handa, "I'm so disappointed in you" get out of here with this nonsense, the dude knew she was crazy about him and tried to use it against her.

It doesn't help that we don't get to see the trigger for the intervention. Maybe I'm going crazy, but I seriously don't remember any discussion about Natsumi's alcohol problem until the night of Misaki/Hikaru's date? And then there is also this long argument between Misaki and Natsumi that we don't get to see, but hear about it the next day? The whole thing felt so poorly edited.

It felt like Natsumi and Misaki never got along, but the producers were trying to show otherwise.

Hayato and Rikopin is just so creepy.

He even uses the "age is nothing but a number" line in earnest.
