The three games are probably some combination of A)Liberal use of the word exclusive B) Something casual(Like Gotouchi Tetsudou C) A First Party games.

I'm not sure why are people are expecting big, core oriented games.

I'll go with with A+C option, though isn't this related to the fact that Bamco is now putting more resources into the development of Switch games?I mean , Smash would come regardless of that rofl

Assuming one of these exclusives isn't just a DB game that won't leave Japan (like an inevitable Super Dragon Ball Heroes port)? Very much interested.

Of course, I'll just be happy if it means Switch will get ports of future games like Gundam Breaker, for example.

lol at people trying to downtone the news.
first of all, both Tales and Taiko (no details yet) sfar have been confirmed to be released within te end of march 2018.
These 3 new switch games should instead be additional, to be released after those 2 (alo because a Tales of game and a Taiko game have already been announced, so no need to call them "3 big games", now).
Plus, the source specifially claimed these 3 games to be exclusive, with mutliplatform games also to be in development, with a shifting of internal resources toward Switch.

Now, they could totally be "casual" and "not core" (big by company terms could totally be different from what WE could think about that definition)
and they could totally be "second party" game, such as Pokken or Smash (with Smash port being rumored, it could totally be), even if I don't know if Namco claimed the SMash U/3DS games as a proper own Namco game, honestly)
and they could totally be some sort of "For Switch" old port releases, such as Dragon Ball Xenovers 2 FOR SWITCH, that they consider as a separated version, so coul dtotally be a Tekken 7 FOR SWITCH game

but stil...

Yeah but it sounds better if they take credit.

Funny you should mention that. ;)

Earth
Namco vs Pacman. All Namco characters vs Pac-Man.

Each match has to be Pac-Man fighting someone else, but there must be Pac-Man.

Project X Zone, Tales and maybe One Piece or a Dragon Ball game that will be not as good as FighterZ.

They already had/have a Tales and a Taiko game announced for the Switch fyi. They are supposed to be released in this FY though, so maybe those don't relate to the 3 mentioned in the OP unless they've been delayed?

So Ridge Racer 8, Soul Calibur 6 and Dark Souls Trilogy. Looking forward to it, Bamco!

Maybe I'm just really fanboyish here and don't see it, but Soul Calibur exclusive to Switch would make sense to me. The series has fallen from grace with the last entries, apart from Pokken there are no such games on Switch, they could put in Link or some other Nintendo characters to pull in those who never had past experiences with the series and it wouldn't get in direct competition with Tekken and the like.

Smash is a lock, but I do wonder if after Pokken and Smash success Namco would work with other Nintendo IP.

I'm going to assume this is a 1st party collab like Smash or Pokken. Or something small. Tales, definiely not. So much of that fanbase is on PS, would be a boneheaded move. I know there's kind of precedent with Graces, but we know how that went.

I'd LOL if it was SoulCal 6 though.

It's gonna be the 4th Souls franchise, ie. Bamco's 2nd, exclusive to Switch.
Devious Souls

This shit will drive sales up AF (not that Switch needs any help atm)

Mochi said they were all "big" titles and they will be released between Spring and Summer 2018, so that has my attention a lot more than the previous thread did.

And now we have teasing of a first party title on top of those three? Is the obvious Smash port finally going to be announced soon?

Nintendo's January 2018 Direct is gonna be nuts.
