I'm not sure traditional racing games are doing especially well anywhere these days.
I'M IN! So happy to finally be here! :D I'll get my article updated with Switch's numbers for this week today. :) Preferably when Dengeki drops. Here it is for those who haven't bookmarked it and are interested:

"Vinnk's Village" Anecdotal Report
Hello all. Figured this should be my first post.
Jusco
Switch Hardware: 0
Mario Display: 2 posters and some display boxes.
Youme Town
Switch Hardware: 0
Mario display: Some flyers and display boxes.
Goody
Switch Hardware: 1 system, used, no box, selling for 43,000.
Lots of used copies of Zelda and a few Splatoon 2.
Best Denki
Switch Hardware: None, but they are offering almost the retail price if you trade one in.
Mario Display: Non-playable (video) kiosk. Display boxes.
Wanpaku
Wanpaku want out of business and was replaced by a store called Game@Net
And... I didn't go there this week.
Famicom Dojo
No longer sells new hardware. But will buy used Switch games and systems.
Will not be getting SMO but is making a display of the retro Marios to try and cash in on the hype.
Yamada Denki
Switch Hardware: Sold out.
Mario Display: Biggest in my town (that I saw this week), posters, video, dedicated area.
Book Off
Didn't go this week. But my friend claims to have seen a used Switch for sale. Didn't know the price. [Useful information!]
NOTES:
1. For those who didn't follow Media Create 10 years ago, this was a collection of anecdotal evidence I would put out each week covering the stores in my small town in Japan. I knew a lot of the shop owners pretty well and many of them would let me count the stock they had of various hardware and software. The data was not very useful on it's own but people could extrapolate or compare it from week to week.
2. I stopped doing these reports because after the DS and Wii there were no hardware shortages and nothing that interesting to report. But Switch is bringing that feeling back.
3. 3DS sections in some stores are contracting a bit to make way for the Switch. Other stores are shrinking the Vita sections. PS4 has remained undisturbed since Switch launch at the store I went to.
4. Xbox One continues to be a non-event. The Book-off for example currently has only one used game for the system in stock. Dead Rising 3. Yamada Denki has a dedicated section but is mostly filled with empty hardware display boxes.
5. I have never seen a Famicom Mini in the wild at retail price. Only used ones going for over retail.
6. LOTS of used Amiibos turning up at stores.
7. eShop point cards are sold out in the smaller denominations at the 7-11 near my house. Only 5000yen cards in stock. I have to say I have never seen that before.
8. It is so great to see everyone. Here is to the next 10 years.
Nah. Its already at 185K on famitsu with one week of digital sales. I bet it sells more next week with big Switch hardware shipment. It will crawl to 250K LTD eventually IMO.

Not in 2012 with traditional portable gamers :p
It has steadily comprised a healthy chunk of Square Enix's domestic mobile revenue over the long-term, accelerating marketshare in certain key months (like June)...which bodes incredibly well for the solvency of the Star Ocean IP going forward.
Great to have these! Love to mix and match anecdotal evidence to enrich partial statistical evidence, your reports are a great source for this! Glad you're in, here's to many years on ResetEra!
Nice to see Vinnk's Village in action once again. Thanks for the good work Vinnk!
Vinnk made it!! So happy to see a new edition of Vinnk's village.
Wow, so many memories. I started lurking on GAF in 2005, and I was in high school; now I'm getting a PhD, lol.
Btw, how's the buzz among kids? Are they still playing with 3DS or is all SwitchSwitchSwitch?

Thank you!
They are talking about the Switch a lot and some of the kids have gotten one with Splatoon 2. But for the most part it is still impossible to buy and a bit too expensive to get outside of a holiday time.
3DS is still the system kids are playing. But the Switch is what they are wanting to play.
Also the PS4 is doing pretty well with the older kids. But mostly as a Minecraft/Anime Games system.
Star Ocean 6 forStar Ocean: Anamnesis launched its Halloween event and got to #8 in the mobile charts. I think that might be the highest it's ever been since its launch back in December 2016.
Star Ocean really has found a new lease on life on mobile. I'm curious to see if this is one of the Japanese games Square Enix is taking worldwide in the next five months, and also if it has any impact on the rest of their strategy with the brand.
Forza Horizon is doing okay, but mainline Forza is doing pretty bad.

I apologise. I actually mean to type 200+ k. 250k is certanly doable. I am more thinking what Aquamarine says is in the 400-500 range. The series of tweets from Mochizuki is indeed from a Amir Anvarzade and not from Capcom themselves. However, I do have cause to believe that it is accurate in the sense that this is what Mr Anvarzade was told thse information by Capcom. This is because the he visited Capcom and most likely got the numbers from conversation with Capcom. It is his job to get information to evaluate whether the company is worth buying in or not (he say Buy though :O). BGC partners is reputable firm that goes around visiting major companies (Toshiba was one). These guys even show up on Bloomberg.

The reason why we dismissed these tweets back on NeoGAF was because of the very low estimate of MHW (1.5 million estimate). However, by this logic, 450K sold vs 200k expectations for USF2 would also be tales from the analyst's ass as well. This 450k USF2 sales seems to be widely believed though. What we can see is that right now, if USF2 can have expectations of 200k (which many people would think is too high if they take the product for what it is), then this should be the floor for Capcom's expectations for MHXX a "newer" and more "popular" game on the same platform. It can only go higher from there.
You can argue the expectations are unrealistic due to the headwinds MHXX NSW faces (I certainly do), but that never stopped Capcom assuming the best for USF2...
As for the 1.5 million estimate MHXX, Mochizuki remarked that it is very cautious. Perhaps Mr Anvarzade felt the same and wrote that in his LETTER to Mochizuki (this is written correspondence and not some smokey pub talk). If Capcom did give these numbers, it could due to a myriad of reasons that we might not be in on (they know what the game is better than any of us), there as also no timeline given for these numbers.
Sales of each region:
Q: I would like to ask the number of Ultra Street Fighter II The Final Challengers (Ultra Street Fighter II) sold by region.
A: It is 100,000 in Japan and 350,000 in Europe and the United States.
It's not that it's widely believed. It's that Capcom actually reported 450,000 units as their first month shipment for Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers
http://www./forum/showthread.php?t=1412482&page=1
Note: While Capcom stated 100,000 in "Japan", it's probably more correct to assume they were referring to Asia as a whole.

I was preparing the Prediction League and the upcoming month must one of the saddest Novembers I remember, I am struggling to make a list of 4 or 5 games worth predicting for.
We have Pokémon Sun / Moon, Call of Duty: WWII, Star Wars Battlefront II and what else? And it is not that these shooters are very interesting titles to predict. I guess I will also include Super Mario Odyssey second month.

Do we have any preorder numbers for Xenoblade 2 yet, or is it still too early?
What did XB and XBX end with?It is standing at 13 points on COMGnet for the collector edition. The regular one didn't appear yet ( <13pts then).
Gardenscapes and Homescapes are very successful in Japan, and the characters look like this:
The monetization is also very similar to Animal Crossing.

Nice.
