I prefer to focus on MG kits now, but this Hyuaku Shiki-wannabe is so.. Shiny. Anyone here that has built it? How is it in person?

That is indeed wicked. I need to get me a black light as soon as I build one of my MG unicorns. So far I've only built an HG and the psycho-frame in those doesn't glow in black light.RG Banshee under a blacklight looks absolutely wicked.
I haven't built it but it is in the backlog. It is veeery shiny. As in "I can see my face reflected in the gold pieces" shiny. Comparatively the Ver. 2.0 MG Hyaku Shiki is a somewhat matte gold. The 1.0 MG Hyaku Shiki is supposed to be very shiny as well but I don't think I'm ever getting that since I've already built the 2.0 (unless I find it with an extremely big discount).
Not a solution but what I do when I finish a build is put the part of the polycap runner that contains unused polycaps in a plastic bag containing all my previous PC runners. The idea is to (maybe) be able to use a previously unused polycap if I'm unlucky enough to mess the one in my current build but lucky enough to have a spare equivalent. That's a huge amount of polycaps. XD

Marina was old after the time skip in the epilogue. What was that time skip, 50 years or so?
Whatever this new stuff is its probably way before that.
Putting Gundams in a battle shounen makes it a good battle shounen.
Putting battle shounen in a real robots franchise makes a terrible real robot series.
I appreciate G for what it is but for me it is only Gundam in name and (some) robot design.
I'm OK with it, experimenting with new ideas is hardly ever a bad decision.

I can already tell you the "majority" opinion.
S1 is good, S2 sucked, the movie is the absolute worst thing ever (these people never saw X/1999, apparently).
My personal opinions:
S1: Excellent.
S2: More like a standard Gundam show than S1 is, YMMV.
Movie: Interesting attempt at a new idea, wasn't terrible but could have been better.

I don't get the hate for the movie, it's not the greates thing ever but it works as a ending for Setsuna and it gave us CELESTIAL BEING: THE MOVIE, that alone makes it worth it
Maybe if the only Gundam shows you'd seen before were like Endless Waltz and...Destiny. It went full super robot and did so REALLY badly

When did an Exia (or a Setsuna MS) not have 7 swords?
I thought it was a constant theme.

00 Raiser only had 5 swords total as well, unless you want to count the two GN Shield halves as katars.
Ah OK, if we weren't talking about Repair IV I'd say Repair variants do not count because they are not equipment-complete but a makeshift solution for a dire situation.

Exia Repair 4... just... use the extra metal from that nonsense shoulder blade mount thing and boom, Exia 4 with some blades. The whole repair thing never made sense to me aside from the first time in the season 2 opening.
Also was watching The Greatest Showman and looking at my gunpla... I would love a musical Gundam. Heck some of the songs here would fit kinda well into a Gundam haha.

And the music, lawd the music in Endless Waltz is just incredible
I really don't want anymore 00, especially after the movie.
And honestly not just because it was bad. It really feels like they covered all their bases.
But I do like the mecha and character designs of 00. In general, the aesthetic and overall look of 00 is great.

Still not really feeling the design... I dig asymmetry once in a while, but all the swords pointing in one direction irks me - looks like it has a big-ass claw on its back (the slight bent in the swords doesn't help). Plus shoulder binders are kinda old in 00 standard - 00R, 007S, 00Q, 00QFS all have them already.
But at least they didn't put the GN Verniers on the front skirt like they did Dynames R3. WTF is that about?

I just spent an hour and a half building one fucking leg of the MG Gundam Mk-II. Just looking at it, it doesn't seem like it would take so long (I'm probably really slow) but there's so much stuff going on underneath the armor. It's really impressive. It feels like I'm actually building a mini machine. The pistons on the ankles are such a cool touch.
That's what happens when you get distracted and don't follow the gunpla manual correctly.
I told you it is a great build. The pistons look really cool as does the threaded tubing.
Don't forget to cut some of the leftover green border of the shiny stickers and put it in the chest cameras.

Just going by the list of names there, I'm betting it'll be UC related. Fukui alone makes me think it'll be something Unicorn related.
