Fuck, seems this show is plagued by the same stulidity. There is no point to get out of your truck and check on the girl. Just roll up next to her and open your window.
Yeah sorta disappointed. Also Morgan can't take on two zombies? Fuck outta here!!! My dude barricaded and held himself against thousands of those fuckers.

Yep, the episode was really good. Thought it was better than the finale of Fear. Looking forward to seeing where they go with these new characters.

So this is a pretty big time skip for Fear, no? I thought the stuff that was happening in Fear was like years before where TWD is now.

I also like the monotone look of the show. Not sure if that sort of post processing was done just for the premiere or if the entire show will look like that.

I enjoyed the premiere. There are some great shots in this episode. Better shots than the original. Hope this keeps up.

There are going to have to be a lot of flashbacks to fill in the gaps. Should be interesting to see how they cover things now that they don't have to do it all in real time.

Not really a catch. The messed up leg implied it as fuck, along with the same car and interior of the car.
Yeah, once I saw the interior of that wagoner, and that dirty red towel, figured it was that dudes car. Question is, why continue to drive afterwards, and then get out/open the door before dying.

Yeah, I had thought they'd gotten further away, so I didn't think about that he continued to drive. Though Morgan looking at the leg made think of it, just good to see someone else confirm it.

I also admittedly stupidly missed the beginning of the scene since I had to leave the room.

I thought it was kinda boring with all the walking but it was cool.

John the Gunslinger is great, really good introduction.

The truck is like right out of Land of the Dead and the video gimmicks reminds me of Diary of the Dead

The Fear crew showing up at the end was... ok

Kinda a weakass crossover

Knowing it's dillahunt and the hidden backstory stuff on this woman from his past, I feel like he'll be a hidden antagonist later on. He plays a good villain in other shows.

I'm going to be so upset if they reveal John to be some kind of psychopath that's stalking a woman that wants nothing to do with him.

After that premiere I honestly think it would have been cool if Fear rebooted and it was just Morgan, John, and Al.. lol

Honestly.

This episode made for a great start to a whole new series. But instead, it's tied up with Fear. And although I hear Fear has gotten pretty good, this could have been something else entirely and could have been better for it by just focusing on Morgan (an already established fan favorite) and two already cool characters. Now we only get a little bit of them among Fear's main cast.

So, are Season 2 and 3 of Fear good?
In my opinion the 2nd half of Season 2, and all of Season 3 of Fear is better than the last 2 seasons of The Walking Dead. I do remember reading a lot of hate for every scene involving one specific season 3 villain. A lot of those people seemed to just be hate watching the show at that point anyway. Although I will agree that the villain I'm talking about could have been justifiably taken out way earlier by multiple characters. He was kind of like Negan now that I think about it in that you're begging the characters on screen to stop talking and just shoot him but they never do for some contrived reason.

Morgan, John and Al are really, really good. Fear and TWD have some great actors that are often written into some silly situations. Like others said, no need to get out of the damn truck lol, otherwise I thought it was a damn enticing episode. Looking forward to this season moreso than the past couple of Fear seasons.

Did Season 2 end with the burning down of the villa? That's where I jumped off at due to moving, and never went back in.

I don't recall being much of a fan as it seemed a bit ridiculous and was the Farm 2.0 with more Coo-coo crisps for everyone.

The entire season is the crossover because of Morgan.

That was the midway point of season 2.

Okay, thanks. I couldnt remember how many episodes they were out on the water and when that whole bit was resolved.

I should probably just restart the series, despite how rough the first season was and the bumps in 2a. At least my expectations will be in check (not really an early infection timeline, slow pacing, psycho kid + Nick).

She seems more poised as an actress since Lost and Taken.

Cue the Maggie Grace running GIFs/meme

I saw her recently in The Hurricane Heist (film with a hilarious premise of having a heist take place during a hurricane) and she was fairly competent as a more hardass federal employee who transports cash.
Either her acting got better or she's really more suitable for tougher characters than her characters in Lost and Taken.

When she was first on screen in that movie, I thought she was Emily Rose (aka voice of Elena in Uncharted and main actress in the Haven TV series) because of how her acting was.

She does seem like an interesting character in this show.

I wasn't a fan of the desaturated look, so I hope things return to normal next week. There was a shot of Maggie Grace in front of her vehicle where literally everything on screen (clothes, metal, ground, etc.) was more or less the same color. Looked bad.

Is there any sort of official TWD-FTWD timeline out there? For some reason I thought they were years apart chronologically, though I guess TWD's later seasons don't move the needle that much.

I watch both shows super casually, so apologies if it the anwer is right in front of me.

Edit: Welp, should've just waited until I finished Talking Dead. They go into it, as much as they can.

Only just started, was thinking that I might just give up watching if the quality isn't as good as last season.

But may just watch anyway cos Cromartie is great.

edit - lol, this almost feels like that book with the zombies and journalists.

The only thing I didn't like about Morgan in this was he was already back to his "no killing" phase. Like dude, you just stabbed a man in the heart with a wooden stick and slashed his throat open, but you had a 5 minute conversation with Jesus and now you're good again. lol

I mean, it pretty much has been "Another Walking Dead" since season 2...

I do kinda wish the show depicted the start of the outbreak in greater detail. The first season started out like that and then showing military policing but the fall of civilization happened just way too quick for my liking.

It's tricky though, because the only way for a zombie apocalypse to even approach believability is if the fall of civilization happens almost overnight. Otherwise it's like "shouldn't the military have been able to handle this?"

I didn't know Morgan was joining the cast this season. Thirty minutes in and I don't really find this interesting. I hate flashbacks and I hate the color of the present day scenes. I completely stopped watching TWD as soon as I saw those garbage landfill people acting like they time traveled or something. Seeing Morgan, Rick and Jesus at a landfill gave me bad memories lol.

Not the biggest fan of Morgan and I had no damn clue the timeskip was going to be literally after the events of the latest TWD but I enjoyed it as I usually do.

FTWD has been so much more compelling than TWD for a while now which I just hate watch usually. I haven't even seen 2nd half of TWD (yet? nah.) I think I'm done with that show lol I've read every comic and seen every episode too. It's too bad they can't salvage it.

Wasn't a fan of how Morgan turned out in TWD, but the premiere was pretty darn good. Especially with Al, and John.

Will be disappointed if John goes Terminator, or 90% of the rest of the season is back to the original cast lol.

I like all of ftwd's cast more than Morgan so this was kind of a disappointment to me. Why not make a third show instead of potentially ruining this one with the time skip. At least it wasn't the stupid preacher or eugene who crossed over. Hope there's 1000% more madisson next week.

So I started season 3 and I gotta say, the second half of season 2 and season 3 so far are pretty damn good. the stuff with Travis and Chris was pretty heartbreaking and surprising. Don't really get what's going on with Ophelia but I guess I will find out soon.

The show definitely got better during the second half of the last season. I had considered dropping it, but my inner completionist wouldn't let me. It was hard to watch there for a while.

I tried recording last night's episode a couple of times, but my power went out about 13 times and it didn't happen. Somehow a late airing of TWD saved when the power came back on for an hour and a half, but FTWD was in small pieces with missed content. I've got it set to record Wednesday.
