What's this and why should I care?
Look, shows are going to get cancelled. It's just the name of the game. In order for new shows to get made, existing ones have to be cancelled to make way for them - after all, linear networks only have so many spots on their schedule. Thus, every old show that gets renewed is one less new show that will be ordered the following season. And new shows are a good thing! An exciting thing.

And it's nice to know if the show (singular) you're following is headed for cancellation, right? See what kinda level of investment you should be...investing...in it, so there's no crushing disappointment at the end of the season (and no "Why God? Why was 'Almost Human'; 'Star-Crossed'; 'Minority Report'; 'The Secret Circle'; 'Alcatraz'; etc. cancelled?" breakdowns. Even though there are always those kinds of breakdowns). Well, this is the place to find out!

This thread is now also the home of Pilots, those twinkles in the eyes of creatives, hoping to be full shows.

Glad to see Star Trek Discovery continue. I also hope that Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency gets renewed for another season.

Oh how I missed you, TV thread.

Guessing Kevin Saves The World won't last much longer. Crying shame, I like that show. It has charm.

TV show specific OTs will go up in time. Don't wanna spam the new forum with too many new threads at once.

Ryan Murphy Makes History With Largest Cast of Transgender Actors for FX's 'Pose'

Following a six-month nationwide casting search, the drama has cast five transgender actors in series regular roles. With the casting, Pose is making TV history with the largest number of transgender actors in series regular roles for a scripted series.

Set in the 1980s, Pose looks at the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York: the rise of the luxury Trump-era universe, the downtown social and literary scene and the ball culture world.

'Daredevil' Brings Back Vincent D'Onofrio For Season 3; Erik Oleson Joins As New Showrunner

Vincent D'Onofrio has been set to reprise as Wilson Fisk for the third season of Daredevil, I've learned.

Erik Oleson will be taking over as showrunner as things gear up on the New York City set of the Charlie Cox-led series. Oleson, most recently an executive producer and writer on Amazon's The Man in the High Castle, more than made his superhero bones from spending a season and more as a co-EP on the CW's Arrow.

Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez were showrunners for Season 2 of Daredevil, with both moving on to handle the same duties on Marvel's The Defenders. Petrie exited that production early on, while Ramirez saw the Daredevil-Jessica Jones-Iron Fist-Luke Cage team-up through to its eight-episode launch August 17.

Sad to see Longmire go (again). Something about that show satisfied my inner 60+ year old grandma
Has the Good Doctor been cancelled yet? The pilot was dreadful; couldn't force myself to watch more.

So far it's the biggest new show of the season. (total viewership in L+3 is in the NCIS / This is Us tier)

Man... I thought it was okay at first but wow is it getting annoying.

also that hospital is the most bland set I have seen in recent memory, makes's Flash's STARlabs look great by comparison.

Wait, did Netflix kill Longmire? I thought they said they were going to wrap it up... because fuck that ending.

Seems The Flash did solid, but I'm already behind with two episodes as that pilot definitely bored me and was more of what I didn't wanna see. I might actually drop all of the DC shows on CW and binge them next Summer, kind of what I did when I was halfway through last seasons' seasons.

I was down on the first episode but it seems alright.
besides them seemingly writing a character out already.

Speaking of The Good Doctor...

'The Good Doctor' Tops Weekly Rankings As Most Watched Program For First Time

The third episode of the hot freshman — already picked up for a full season — added +7.5 million viewers to its Live + Same Day tally to average 18.2 million viewers. It was the most watched program during the third week of the season, edging CBS' The Big Bang Theory (17.9 million), "NCIS" (17.4 million) and NBC's "This Is Us" (17.1 million) and "Sunday Night Football"(16.2 million).
