Classless. How convenient that the guy getting subbed is cramping.

Wow this ref is trash. Doesn't even add a minute for that clown show?

I've barely been paying any attention to the CCL this tournament, but I was expecting Toronto to beat us by a huge margin: we've been dreadful in the league and we are missing like five starters. I'm honestly very disappointed in them.

...not that I'm complaining

P.S. Giovinco should come to Liga MX. Hell I don't know what he's doing in this region of the world in the first place.

Liga MX is a retirement league, so you'll have to wait a few years

Chivas was barely able to bunker past RBNY and only advanced on a single rare defensive mistake made by an 18-year-old Tyler Adams. We had them pinned for the large part of both legs.

I'm gonna be honest, I haven't been impressed with any of the Liga MX teams in CCL this year. Tigres, Tijuana, Club America, Chivas, they've all been bad and Toronto should feel bad for not rolling Chivas tonight.

That tunnel better be fucking lit
You mean the Sacha Kljestian Memorial Tunnel at BMO Field?

For real though, dude should be playing in Europe.

That's kind of my point. We are 16 out 18 this season. Admittedly that's mostly because we don't have a lot of finesse upfront rather than defensive mistakes, but that first goal by Pizarro today was amateur hour from Toronto.

Gio was in Europe, at Juventes, but was sitting just behind Pirlo on the depth chart.

If Chivas wins this whole thing it will be because all the MLS sides they faced completely clownshoes'd their matches against them. Us especially. I mean, we went full galaxy brain and sat our best creative attacker for no damn reason and played the best goalscorer in the league as a 10.

No reason he shouldn't be playing at a mid-table team instead. He might not be a starter for Juventus but dude is easily material for Roma, Atlético, Leverkusen even. I feel like he is wasting the last stretch of his prime in North America.

Then again, with Italy out of the World Cup I imagine his performance sportswise is the last thing on his mind.

He was good enough to start at Juventes, just not over a Pirlo who was still playing well. He stays another year and he's probably starting.

The Italian coach never gave him much of a look even when the team desperately needed more creative attackers.

That said, LOL @ Toronto doing worse than us. I figured they'd roll Chivas after we managed to pin them in their own half for the better part of 180 minutes.

Weather didn't affect Chivas at all. That late goal was a real beauty.

Toronto looked pretty threatening most of the game but where was the finishing? I don't see them winning away.

Just got official word that LAFC season ticket holders will NOT get first dibs on the BVB friendly in May. This was a major selling point my rep gave me as to why I should get season tickets. What a scam.

Wait what?! Lol I remember being told that the big friendly games was gonna be part of the package. LAFC is a joke when it comes to customer service

Wow that's a dick move. All I got this year was a three match flex plan and RBNY has been throwing tickets at me. You should call your rep and ask for a partial refund.

I wish friendlies were not part of my season ticket plan, I haven't gone to one in like 5 years but continued to have to pay for a ticket to one.
You can usually sell them for a lot of cash. Last time Aresenal came to NY season ticket holder were able to make back a good chunk, if not all, of the cost of their season tickets. Gotta sell those on the secondary market dude.

Frankfurt isn't Arsenal, all those tickets are below face value, and only 3-5 bucks over season ticket prices. Yes I could try to sell my single ticket but honestly I'd rather just not have to buy it in the first place. There was a survey sent out roughly two years ago asking if people preferred friendlies or free open cup tickets and stupid people voted to continue the friendlies.

This is not true. Giovinco had nothing to do with Pirlo at Juve. They play entirely different positions. He just wasn't ever remotely good enough for Juve and rather than try and hack it at a mid/low table club like he did at Parma, he decided to be a big fish in a small pond in MLS.

He was never going to start at Juve.

I don't think anything's refundable. I remember the contract says something to the effect of even your initial monthly payments to be a "supporter" are non-refundable. Not that I want a full refund or anything. I just think the front office and the celebrity figureheads stinks; I like the team well enough.

I was also told when I debating tix and talking to the team salesman, that I'd get first dibs on concerts. Guess what? Wango Tango (a radio sponsored concert) is coming up (not that I have any interest) and there's no priority purchasing for that either. This doesn't bode well when the Olympics come to town in a few years. Purchasing these seats, I was going to sit on them so I had a shot at Olympic events, but I'm doubting there's any advantage for me getting track tix or whatever might be held at the Banc.

Between this thing with friendlies/concerts and the absolute lack of communication regarding anything, it seems the FO doesn't give a shit about us, even though the LAFC slogan is We Are LA, Somos LAFC, etc. Nothing bugs me more than when I get a twitter notification that shows supporters groups (the only people that seem to be notified and invited to events) cheering on the team at a meet and greet or other such event and a bunch of people are like, "When the eff did this happen?! And why wasn't I notified?"

The lone bright spot is Banc of California is having an open house viewing event on Saturday where we can check out the stadium, food vendors, etc. and then they'll be playing the Montreal away game on the big ass screens at the stadium. And even this event has some shit to it in that STH can only rsvp for the amount of tix they own, while the general public didn't have a limit.

乁(ツ゚)ㄏ oh well, what can you do.

Hey, I wanna do a new poll and I need some help. What are some MLS podcasts that you all listen to or are just out there?

And if going forward anyone has some ideas for a new poll please do PM me and I'll throw it up there.

MLS files motion to dismiss the Crew lawsuit:

"All teams are owned by the league. We own them. We license rights to investors. Your puny laws do not apply to us."

*looks at Precourt's Twitter profile*

"ANTHONY, CHANGE THAT, YOU IDIOT."

"Better."

I think the whole deal with MLS being an exclusive closed system of ownership makes me think there's no way Crew are staying in Columbus, no matter how many petitions.

It should make a lot of people stop thinking the league is somehow more like its European brethren and just another US sports league. No different from how the NFL operates.

My hope with MLS has always been the belief that they would decide that developing domestic talent is the most lucrative business option. That is what I tell to myself to justify my tolerance for the unsavory shit they do.

It's certainly the direction Red Bull and Dallas have taken, with the former bearing lots of fruit. From what's gone around about the money involved, RBNY makes way more off the academy than the team itself. That said, a real academy requires a big amount of money upfront and then you've got to run a USL side to get the graduates some pro experience and that's even more cash. Once it's all set up it'll probably become self-sustaining for most teams, but that would take a few years.

Of those I really like Max & Herc.
Extratime Radio is pretty good, but I already watch the mls soccer.com stuff and it's the same people. Do they only have like three people on staff?
Don't like Lalas at all. I used to way back when.
