I really want Wild Guns and Neo Atlas but man those pricepoints. Will probably just grab RBS and wait for sales on the other two.

WOW, 'Korg Gadget for Nintendo Switch' has appeared in the European eShop, listed for the 26th April.

In these videos, you can see how the legendary Sanodg, the composer behind 'Ridge Racer' or 'Tekken', creates some crazy stuff with the program :)

So i got Manticore and first impressions are.. well mixed

Story and dialogue - why is this in here? It kind of ruins any mood the game tries to set. Tries to be funny but does not really work - why not just try the tie fighter path with straight forward military objectives.
Also breaks up the action with loading screens. Overall I almost immediately started skipping cutscenes. Not a good sign
Graphics - ok i guess and aims for 60 but stutters some (not too bad though). Looks good though overall
Controls - actually really good and the feeling of flying and shooting is nice
Missions design - really feels like a mobile port here (short, repetative)

I have not really dived into the upgrade systems that much but they seem kind of enjoyable also

So overall it is ok, but I am bit disappointed.. I really did expect a more "polished" experience and now it feels really uneven with some good bits and some really bad (seriously the story.. come on)
I played this on mobile and enjoyed the shooting.

I was hoping they'd be able to flesh out the mission design some for the Switch port and polish it up.

Thanks for the impressions, I think this all but confirms that EverSpace will be my first space shooter and also that I'll be picking up the superior Sky Rogue next week instead

Count me in the list of persons waiting for the release of 'Neo Atlas 1469' as one of my most anticipated titles, only to be disappointed with the high price respect to the Steam version. In this case, I will blame the Japanese physical edition for this ridiculous price.

How easy is this software for beginners? If there is tutorials on YouTube I may dive in.

Working on trying to get someone to sign some, yeah :)

If we manage to sign either of them I'll be really happy, as they're very cool. Very different but still definitely got the Nosebleed vibe. Tight addictive gameloop and compelling metagame again, but we're trying to put more focus on the second to second gameplay this time as the twin stick shooting wasn't quite as polished as i'd hoped for in Vostok. Not that either of them are twin stick shooters. They're both in lovely 3D too. One is set in the Vostok universe, the other definitely not.

Do you not mean moolah?

Wish I did lol! Thanks for the reply, hope you find someone as they sound like great ideas!

How easy is this software for beginners? If there is tutorials on YouTube I may dive in.

There was a version of KORG available in Nintendo DS and 3DS.

This Switch version seems much more advanced, based in the Mac version.

It seems to include a lot of crazy things, like a 4 player mode to create music together or the option of using the Joycons to create music.

This opens a vast number of possibilities to see the program used in live concerts.

In the chip-tune, retro-consoles scene of music, 'KORG DS-10' became a legend. A lot of times it was used in combination with 'Electroplankton' to create crazy stuff.

If you search KORG DS in Youtube, you will find a lot of crazy examples.

Here is a combination of various Nintendo DSs used with a mix table, in combination with 'KORG DS-10' and 'Electroplankton':

And here is a live concert with 4 DSs:

Regarding the tutorials and how intuitive is this version, I don't know. But the Mac production studio seems targeted to the casual market interested in the history of KORG synthesizers. Between this, the console release, the 4 players mode, I expect something intuitive with tons of possibilities to create music in a more casual and relaxed way, without messing with hundred of options.

My desire to finally get wild guns reloaded is offset by the fact it's stupid mishandle of co-op will really limit it's play with my friends and family.

Yes it's crazy compared to Steam and I can't imagine it'll move many copies at $50. Hopefully Artdink drops the price soon.

I thought they fixed the no continue thing for the Switch port?

Stardew Valley will be getting a multiplayer patch soon. No idea of what's in it, but it's one of the best games of the generation imo. Absolutely brilliant.

Sadly (and not really understabable for me)

Slower paced:
* Putty Pals is a pretty good 2-player co-op puzzle platformer (is worth around $10 IMO).
* Death Squared (puzzle game)

A bit more pace:
* Lovers in an Dangerous Spacetime is very good. IMO better with more than 2 players.

Online multiplayer only, AFAIK.

Putty Pals doesn't look like it's for me, but I've seen Death Squared from time to time. Is it that well made?
I love my puzzle games hard! Or at least reasonably hard - The Witness was one of the most amazing gaming experiences I've had for that reason alone.

LiaDS isn't really for me - tried it with a friend on Steam some time ago.

'Snipperclips' and 'Super Beat Sports' are amongst my favorite co-op games.

'Snipperclips' fits the criteria of a slower pace, and you can purchase separately the game for 20 dollars without the extra DLC.

While 'Super Beat Sports' is super simple to play for any casual player and immensely charming due to its music and graphic style. You can think in a crazy mix between 'Wii Sports' and 'Rhythm Tengoku' with both motion and traditional controls. The game truly shines in its multiplayer mode.

Other alternative is 'Death Squared', other co-op puzzle game similar in spirit to 'Snipperclips' but with harder puzzles and not so relaxing, this bastard will force you to use your brains :)

And while more action oriented, 'Litchspeer' has a very simple control scheme and it's ridiculously fun in its two player mode.

I liked the Snipperclips Demo, but I don't know if it would sustain me in 2 player mode long enough. 4 player looks fun, but this weekend will be mostly 2 player action.

Super Beat Sports looks nice, but not really for me.

What's not relaxing about Death Squared? Time limits on puzzles?

Naruto:Ultimate Ninja Storm (not the Trilogy ) is now listed for next week. Release 26.04. for 19,99 (Euro).
Hope NA gets the same deal of three separate games. I've watched the first few seasons of the show (up until the Saskue fight at the waterfall) and would be semi interested in playing the games since they seem to be simple ridiculous fun but I don't really want to drop full price on a trilogy I might only play a small bit of.

Is that actually confirmed or were people hoping that was the case? A few pages ago people were lamenting the no continues thing.

Death Squared is hard, but not The Witness hard (it's also built more around the co-op execution than the puzzle solving IMO). It's well made.

Is the Switch version of Stardew handled by ConcernedApe ? I want to start it but as there will be translations added, I don't want the game to switch languages in the middle of my playthrough, so I wanted to know who to ask if there will be like a language selection or if it will be from system settings...

NAM 1975 seems to be referenced a lot when looking into the sub genre of 'Cabal Shooters'. It's a Neo Geo game and is available on Switch that's to the timeless work of the Hamsters over at Hamster. Haven't played so can't speak to it's quality but it seems to be regarded well enough.

It seems that the Japanese only release 'Handy Mahjong' has received an update, including English as a new language.

https:///handy-mahjong-for-switch-updated-brings-english-language-support-and-vertical-tv-play/

And the game has some pretty clever ideas for multiplayer:

https://i0.wp.com//wp-content/uploads/2018/04/004.jpg?resize=768%2C548&ssl=1

I really miss the thread in the old site, documenting what Japanese exclusive games include English as a language :(

Mahjongg fan, will check this out! Appreciate the information!

Any recomendations for coop games on the eshop?

I have already played through Kirby, Overcooked and through most of Mario + Rabbids, tried Enter the Gungeon, but I'm in the mood for something slower paced and more relaxing.
Up to 20$ would be finde I guess.

Watch a few vids of Human Fallflat. Funny & smart! I have 3x copies of this gem!

'Unexplored: Unlocked Edition' has been announced for Switch.

- This is in my opinion the best roguelike released in 2017, and one of the most influential games in the genre.

- It appeared in some of the best of 2017 lists in important webs such as Waypoint, and it received a recommended seal in Rock Paper Shotgun.

- Its algorithm to create procedural layouts is considered a landmark in computing science and it has been a subject of studies. Here is a recommended reading about how it works.

And here is the release trailer for this Switch edition:

Oh mannnnn. I played this on PC and refunded after like 10 minutes. But I think I'd actually like it portably in bed.

So are these Naruto games like a Warrior spinoff? Are they something different?
Nah, they're very unconventional fighters, kind of their own thing. You have a view from behind your character and the games focus on emulating the action and look of the anime as faithfully as possible.

I played an early beta of the game, and it was one the most promising things in the genre. Even in its early development, it was galaxies away from their contemporaries regarding the procedural generation of the layouts.

In 2017 I completely switched from Steam to Switch as my main ecosystem. There were two games that I was really missing from all of the indie releases in 2017. One was 'West of Loathing', with the other one being the final release of 'Unexplored'.

Fortunately, this year I will have the opportunity of playing both games :)

Sweet - I've had my eye on this ever since RPS started going on about it. Now I just need a price/release date.

Sweet - I've had my eye on this ever since RPS started going on about it. Now I just need a price/release date.

Digerati is in charge of this Switch release, so you should expect an overprice aimed to create constant discounts to give visibility to the game, and some months later, creating 50% discounts, as they always do with all their releases in the rest of systems, no matter if it's Steam, Playstation 4 or Switch.

At least with 'Bleed 2' they stopped with the terrible practice of charging an extra of €5 respect to the same Playstation 4 releases :)

All of that said, in the case of 'Unexplored' I think that I will swallow the pill of Digerati, purchasing the game in the release week.

I didn't even realize Sky Rogue was coming to Switch. That's been on my Steam Wishlist for a while now. I'm probably going to continue to hold off on it for awhile (until I'm in the mood for that type of game) but I'm glad the Switch will be an option.

I need to go through the eShop and put a bunch of stuff on my Wishlist. There are too many titles to track!

Picross S has co op, and is slower paced AND relaxing.

Snipperclips is slower paced as well but as to whether it is relaxing depends on your definition, since you do get to shout on your partner (and they at you).

I can highly recommend Neo Atlas (I've been a fan of the series since the first PlayStation release), as I bought it day one on Steam; however, I can't really recommend it at THAT price point to those unfamiliar with the series. Even as a fan, it felt like a rehash of Neo Atlas 1 and 2 from PS1, but with much prettier graphics. If you are really into the age of exploration (like working on your Ph.D. in history, while researching on something related to the Portuguese or Spanish empires) or into cartography (I personally subscribe to every single map related subreddit) you'll be obsessed with it. But for anyone looking for a complex trading sim or something like Civ are going to be sorely disappointed. That's not to say that anyone else won't find it enjoyable, it's got a good sense of humor and it's not terribly difficult, but it's truly an Artdink game (A-Train, Trale of the Sun, Aquanauts Holiday etc.), so expect something sandboxy and quirky.

On another topic, I need Sky Rogue like I need oxygen. Even if it really is just something else to help me procrastinate on grading/writing deadlines.

South Park is $60 on the Switch and doesn't come with the DLC? I can get a PS4 copy brand new for $30 that comes with Stick of Truth as well. Come on, Ubi.

So how would you describe it? It looked like a trading sim to me and was instantly interested and abit more cautious now. What kind of gamer is this for?

Many thanks for your detailed impressions of 'Neo Atlas 1469'.

The worst thing is that with this phrase...

...but it's truly an Artdink game (A-Train, Trale of the Sun, Aquanauts Holiday etc.), so expect something sandboxy and quirky.

... you have sold me the game even more.

I love the quirkiness of Atrdink, they were on fire back in the early Playstation days. Some of the most crazy and experimental games from this period were created by them. They are amongst my absolute heroes in the Japanese video game scene.

And I'm so happy to see that they still continue doing bizarre and obtuse games.

Already own picross s - great game!
Shouting is not a problem. Playing with an old friend, we're used to yelling at each other over games ;)

So i got Manticore and first impressions are.. well mixed
Uh-oh.
What do you mean about the story? Are we talking Spaceballs comedy here, or just "stereotypical sci-fi" stuff?
Missions design - really feels like a mobile port here (short, repetative)
Details, please. Or are there any gameplay videos up yet?

Graphics - ok i guess and aims for 60 but stutters some (not too bad though). Looks good though overall
Controls - actually really good and the feeling of flying and shooting is nice
Missions design - really feels like a mobile port here (short, repetative)

I have not really dived into the upgrade systems that much but they seem kind of enjoyable also

So overall it is ok, but I am bit disappointed.. I really did expect a more "polished" experience and now it feels really uneven with some good bits and some really bad (seriously the story.. come on)
Yeah I mean the game isn't good on mobile, I had no reason to believe it would be good on Switch. The IAP wasn't the only issue but even with it removed it did dictate the design of the game.

Uh-oh.

Just look at the mobile version, its the same gamr.

Hell, you can download it for free on your mobile device if you want to try the game.
