I'm digging the voice cast a lot, you guys!
So I backed this on Kickstarter but I can't remember if we've already picked the platform we're getting our codes/physical copies for or not. If we have, is there anyway to change it? I remember being able to do that with Friday the 13th, but that had a slacker backer site after the initial Kickstarter campaign.
Yes. They sent a long time ago an email with a survey link where you could pick, and still change, your platform of choice, delivery address, as well as other shit like how your name will appear in the credits (if your tier qualifies), etc. Look in your inbox. They'll for sure announce when the deadline for changing any of your info is coming.
Don't tell me. You initially were going to go for PS4 but you're changing it to Switch?
We did do the surveys already. Check your emails for one with the title of "ACTION REQUIRED: Survey For Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night". If you don't have that, email support at fangamer.com

However this game ends up being I dont wanna hear anyone ever say that this Kickstarter was mishandled or that there was a lack of communication. Not. A. Peep!
Did the survey! I picked Valkyrie, Succubus, Vampire, and outfits to match existing accessories.
Also said I'd like to know the general window of release because the wait is killing me!
Closed by saying I fully support the team's decisions and that I was very pleased with the Vepar redesign and would encourage the team to make any other changes they felt would better fit the dark tone of the game.

Guess I'm one of the very few who doesn't want the succubus costume lol. Oh well. It's to be expected I guess.

Do we know if the Vita version will get a physical release? Perhaps I should have asked for one :( Oh well, at least the PS4 version will!
I also didn't vote for it. The Valkyrie armour is the one I want the most, by far!

And here I was thinking you were a man of taste, good sir. Would you have wanted a Japanese schoolgirl outfit complete with impossibly short skirt to go with the swimsuit, maid, and provocative succubus of yours as well? I blame the developer more than the fan for these options. Now I know the cliched and provocative ones are going to get all the votes. Goodbye awesome valkyrie or interesting corrupted Miriam to make way to a fucking maid and swimsuit outfit we've seen in a million animu games.

When I read Succubus I immediately thought of the one from SOTN so I thought maybe an homage to her could be cool.
A rad set of Valkyrie armor makes me think of something like Pharrah from Overwatch more than the typical "metal bra" valkyrie of heavy metal art.
A vampire outfit makes me think of SOTN's Dracula or like the vampire coven in France from Interview with the Vampire. Something gothic and dapper.
The "matching to accessories" outfits could be anything, so i thought that was a must-check.
I don't want swimsuits or maids in there. Leave that shit in Gal Gun where it belongs. This is supposed to be the spiritual successor to one of the greatest games ever made, so I hope they can resist the urge to go for the low-hanging animu titty fruit.

Succubusses are ❤ won't vote for bikini and maid tho those make no sense at all in a Castlevania like game imo, the others are atleast fitting because they are based on religious and satanic themes wich fits with the game more. + some were enemies in previous games.
Ill vote for succubus, corrupt, vampire, angel, valkery. (demon not needed when ya already got corrupt wich sounds more story accurate to me aswell and cooler)

Isn't a little late for that? Her default costume is basically a maid's dress with an undone corset over it and some other accessories. I'm not sure how you can look at that and not expect even more fanservice.
I mean, I think I get it. I myself wasn't terribly fond of her default outfit to begin with, and I haven't been shy about voicing that opinion when appropriate. Been hoping (against hope, maybe) for something better in the form of an alternate costume. Now happens to be the best opportunity to word that to the devs.
Haha, I went and took another look at the cast images. I had forgotten about the big breasted nun wearing a garter and 5 inch heels. I wouldn't be very hopeful.
It's fine to have strongly held beliefs or preferences in terms of what alt outfits you want to see but this doesn't really seem to be the time or place to attack (maybe this is too strong a word choice on my part?) others for their choices. Like I could understand if someone was asking for something really skeevy or gross but I don't see that happening? I feel you're overreaching/overreacting here. I also feel pretty confident that "Valkyrie" and "Corrupted" are going to be pretty popular choices so let's wait on the doom & gloom?
I thought about putting "provocative costumes for male characters" in the comment box, but then they might not have taken me seriously - and that's kind of the problem.
That's me. I do still have the email, but I keep bouncing between PS4 and Switch. (went from PS4 to Switch, now back to PS4 again)
On one end, I want this game for Switch, its just the perfect Nintendo game, plus portability.
But I also want to play the best looking version of the game, and not a shoddy port. I wish there was more info/screens/movies etc. on how the various versions will look. Also there is the very real danger of the Switch version getting a nice delay, which is pretty much a trend now. I'm currently listed for the PS4 version, but if any news came out that this will not be delayed on Switch, or it has pretty good parity with other versions, I might go back to the Switch version. I'm sure this isn't gong to be a really high end game technically, so it might be pretty consistent with other versions, but we'll see I guess..

not enough, honestly. it's an relatively untapped market, ripe for interesting designs!
I'm sure we'll get a better look of the game running on actual hardware other than PC before they close the backer survey. I'm right there with you so for the meantime until I hear anything else I'm going with the safe bet: PS4. Besides it feel right since SOTN I've only ever played on Playstation hardware (PS1, PS2, PS3, Vita) so its only fair that I get to play Bloodstained with a Dualshock 4.

I expressed my strong distaste for the way all female characters have been portrayed so far, and humbly requested that they please be changed to be less provocative and sexualized. With the way everyone else seems to feel (opposite), I doubt this will ever happen.
I spoke my honest opinion, and at least know I tried to make a difference for the better. As it currently stands, I doubt I will play this game.
