Being able to turn duplicates into shards is really good. Its a shame you can't do that while looting bodies and boxes. Having to keep a mental tally of what's in a box then finding it and shredding them is too many steps.

Man, some of the new machines are really though on UH. I just threw 30+ fulmy modded bombs at one single robobear before it went down. I'm burning through my blaze at an alarming rate, and I'm loving it.
There are soms textures issues here and there, and during a sidemission a companion AI started teleporting all over the place. But seeing how GG ended up patching the original game, I expect them to iron these issues out. Someone complained about the claustrophobic FOV in caves and I feel the same way.
Music, sound and mo-cap are excellent though, and the improved rewards for quests and errands is a tremendous improvement. Better puzzles and more thought-out platforming remind me a lot of the Tomb Raider reboot.
So far, the improvements make up for the lack of drive the DLC has in comparison to the main game.

I played 5 hours already and I love it. It was hard to get used to control again since playing last march haha. The first new machine almost killed me. I forgot how this game is so beautiful on a 4k OLED tv !! Really nice DLC can't wait to continue tonight !

Been playing on ultra hard because I was half way through trying to get the new trophy. The new enemies are super intense on ultra hard, I beat the main story but im legit stuck on a side quest where I have to kill 2 frost claws. I might have to farm for some potions i have only been able to buy one new weapon so far because shard drops are much lower for me now.

I don't really buy dlc but so far this has been my favorite so far. Side quests seem better and more interesting. The snow prints are incredible was expecting them to disappear quickly but it seems it's based on how far you travel. Also noticed some lakes had thin sheets of just forming ice that disappears when you swim through it. Helmet designs seem better then the base game judging from NPCs I don't really have the new outfits yet.

Coming off assassin's Creed origins mounts are extremely frustrating to use in this game, it does feel cool like I'm controlling a machine but I have to ditch them and foot it out of frustration. Would love to see new mounts in a sequel for different play styles, really want a stealthy stalker mount.
I'm also missing ACOs draw distance, while I absolutely love the atmosphere in this game I can't help but wonder if it can be done with a higher draw distance.

Got to figure out how to kill these 2 frost claws cuz they absolutely are messing me up in ultra hard...

I was wondering...
Do the 3 Hunters and Inatut show up to the final battle for Meridian? The end of their quests seem to suggest so

Also, are there new quests that start from outside the Cut?

I haven't seen anyone mention this and want to find an answer before I go ahead and start the dlc...

From what I've read, this dlc fills in some gaps in the backstory of a particular character whose name begins with S... The problem is, I started a NG+ and got the dlc quest right at Daytower... so in this playthrough, I haven't even met or spoken to that character yet. I've watched a (very) little of others play through the dlc and I know he and Aloy speak in a way which seems to reference knowledge from later in the story. Will that just be absent from my playthrough of the dlc if I do it now without having met him in this playthrough yet? Does he speak at all? Does he have different dialogue for me vs. someone playing this at the end of the game?

Trying to decide if I should just pick back up from my old save file.

Even though this came out earlier in the year I totally forgot how gorgeous it is and how fun it is to play.

The snow tech on display is otherworldly.

Man, do I bite on the bestbuy deal for $16 and then buy the DLC or wait for the complete edition for $40 with GCU? I guess I'm missing out on digital goodies if I go former route?

Can someone tell me where Ikrie is? I thought she was supposed to be at the hunting grounds, but I can't find her. Actually is says, "Meet Ikrie again" and I haven't found her at all even though I've been everywhere already.

Also, to complete the hunting ground do you have to get first place for it to count?

I was wondering how this is handled too. But so far, the character you speak of is kinda just mentioned on the side and has some side conversation you can bring up with characters. I would assume all that is just removed.

Same thing happened with my armor... there were comments about it and how the tower affects it, but you may not even have it at that point.

There's also a point where Aloy speaks about corrupted machines and says she has dealt with something similar. I wonder what she would say if you hadn't got to that point in the main story. Probably nothing.

I've picked up from my old save and have not started NG+ yet.

Thanks for the reply.

I started going through it on my NG+ and the dialogue between them while she's going up those initial hand-holds to get into the area is completely absent. I find him a fairly intriguing character and feel like I'd be missing out on stuff so I guess I'm just going to go ahead and complete the game on NG+ and then start the dlc - I'm on a harder difficulty and I've gotten most of the new NG+ "Adept" armor and weapons and don't want to give those up.

As an aside, when trying to find an answer I read that Guerilla apparently put in a lot of extra work on the base game (that most players have probably never seen) w/r/t alternate dialogues depending on which quests you did in what order. Just another reason to be impressed with what they've done with this game.

For lovers
Main quests going from a level 45 requirement to a level 50 requirement is just dumb. Fortunately the new monsters give tons of XP.

Didn't see this answered in the OP. Is this standalone? I deleted Horizon off my PS4 a long time ago. Does this pickup with the same character you finished the game as using your save file?

Hmm maybe I missed it but how do you charge up the improved stormslinger?

Edit: Nvm! You just have to keep on shooting it and it'll charge up.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this or not but if you slide on some patches of snow it will reveal a grass underneath. Incredible attention to detail, my god.

I noticed this last night as well, and it's even old dead grass. Pretty crazy.

If you shoot an arrow over the top of a snow bank so it just barely touches the snow, it'll leave a mark in the snow as well. :)

If you walk in deep snow, it leaves a trial, aye? Walk back over it and it leaves footprints in the base layer.

This game, man.

I really liked the twist they gave to the new Tallneck. In the regular game they just varied it up with some different enemies, but this was way more interesting.

It's a winter wonderland. Gorgeous.

Agreed that mounts are probably one of the weaker parts of the game. It's often easier to run or fast travel, and a lot of the time you want to be stealthy or dismount to check something out amd that makes it a hassle. They're fun in combat though.

A custom mount with upgrades to speed/durability/weaponry would be a great direction for the sequel.

I have to stop up sometimes and just set the controller down with how amazing everything is. I'm not sure the game will ever be surpassed any time soon.

Yeah, was I supposed to defeat the new monster right at the beginning?

I tried like a good 7 times and decided fuck it, and just sneaked around him.

First time playing Horizon since release, and as soon as I get in, I get treated to that beautiful sense of wonder that only this game provides.

I only just scratched the surface, got into Song's Edge, but I already have a half dozen quests to go on. I want to get that Spear upgrade from the word go, but it's on the other side of the map :(

I think I might just make a bullrush for it on a mount

I know it's been said a thousand times over, but how in the hell have Guerilla gotten this out of 2013 hardware? Spooky magic.

The visuals are insane.

So my copy of horizon I got in Miami and it's Spanish version but in English. Can I just buy the DLC on the USA store? Or will I get screwed and it won't work? Do I need to make a diff psn account?
