Quite a high-class coach they got there.

Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon ch70

Time for Kobayashi to beat Kanna's father and officially become her real dad.

Kingdom ch555

Seems like Akou is going to be the next to croak. Guess it's a way to let the newer generation fully shine.

Kawaii Joushi wo Komarasetai ch26

Drunk people sure are troublesome.

lol at that Souma spoilers

if so then Erina

is beyond waifu status for Soma

it is funny that when she literally tossed aside her false hatred for Souma she basically dominated every other competition (and Megumi is nowhere in sight in these last few chapters)

now she isn't even competing there but instead with Rindou and Alice and best girl

interestingly enough I want to see if this dish is even really practical beyond the manga

I have to say that it really pisses me off that they gave Erina a valley girl voice in the dubbed anime. It makes no sense. Instead they gave Hishoko the voice Erina probably should have had.

I feel like WMR said this as a joke, they're gonna die if this is true... which I'll hear in a month when they figure out how to upload episodes at a normal pace again >_______>

Yeah but they skipped 3 episodes in the process :|

At this point I'll accept them being caught up, but I'm getting frustrated by the lack of communication on what the hold up is. They've not commented on it during any of the podcasts I've listened to, on twitter, or to their patreon supporters who've asked what's going on.

It makes me laugh that whoever is translating Aho Girl literally just skipped ahead like 10 chapters from where they were at in order to translate the continuation of the yuri chapter.

Mobile, Al
Battle Angel Alita Vol 1-9
Picked this up a a week or so ago when Amazon had it on sale digitally for 5 dollars a volume. Never actually read through the whole thing before, as when I started reading it before I had only gotten up to the Motorball arc. Really good series, though I do feel the constant time jumps don't really do it any favor as it makes Alita's characterization feel really inconsistent, and they also make it kinda hard to get invested in some characters. Also Desty Nova is a fantastic villain. Onwards to Last Order I guess.

Fire Punch Vol 1-2
In Contrast this is complete garbage, but at least its entertaining.

Apparently Chris' computer has gone to shit again...at this point he needs to just buy a new one because it seems like he constantly has problems with it. I do agree more communication is ideal though.

Oh shit, I just found out that Blue Spring Ride is coming out in English finally. It's been years since I watched the anime, and while I thought it was just okay, I was seriously annoyed at not having any sort of resolution at the end lol.

I haven't read Boku No Hero in so loooooong. Has it had any amazing arcs yet? Imo that's the only thing that's lacking. I really love the characters and their development but i definitely feel like it's missing that arc that hooks you end til the very end

I think it had a really amazing arc that is about to be adapted in the anime and the current arc is also very good but I need to see its closure before saying it is amazing.

So, Shueisha launched their demographic stats for their magazines.

In the case of Shounen Jump as an example, it's like that for this year
Répartition par âge : 9 ans et moins (3,2%), 10-12 ans (9,6%), 13-15 (16,4%), 16-18 (17,6%), 19-24 (25,8%), 25 ans ou plus (27,4%)
Tirages-Boys-2018.jpg

Tirages-Girls-2018.jpg

There's much more details in the link below including age, locals, employment and other things. It's in french but google translate helps

fuck wow i don't want to say RUINED or anything because I really enjoyed it basically all the way through but man what a kick to the teeth that rushed ending is. ;___;

I hope I can get the og final volume in japanese and figure out how to send fanmail to the author

Okay, anyone want to give some thoughts on Kenichi:The Mightiest Disciple? Giving the anime a shot because I have like half a month of a Funimation subscription left and there's like literally nothing else of note on there that I haven't already seen, isn't dub only (why do they have so many shows as dub only?!) and isn't just plain on Crunchyroll. (So yeah, won't be resubscribing, haha).

Anyway, got 2 episodes in so far, and hated the first episode full stop. Sense of humor and characters and character designs all felt bad to me. Which carried on into episode 2... but then the fight stuff actually seemed pretty well done.

So yeah, is it a worthwhile series, or not really? Going to keep trying the anime while I have the opportunity, but the bit I saw got me curious, and I'm asking in here because ultimately my interest lay with the manga, and the anime will just be a sampler for that for me (especially seeing how it's a decently long manga, and I doubt they're getting close to jamming 61 volumes into 50 episodes!)

The fights in Kenichi are great and I feel the series gets better as it goes but if the fanservice is a put off it gets much worse as it continues. I'd say watch some more of the anime and if you don't like it by the end of the Kisara stuff then don't bother reading the manga.

As for Dedede, it's basically Asano's take on a fluffy-ish slice of life series as a way to change up a bit after the infamous Goodnight Punpun. It might feels aimless, but the draw is in the rather absurd way how an alien invasion of Earth has been normalized, and how life continues as normal despite the dangers. There is an overarching plot, but it's disseminated between the girls' daily lives, though it does take a bigger focus later on.

Earth becoming numb to the invasion was what I found most interesting, but I just found the girls unlikeable and confusing... Oh well, at least it seems I found a gem in DinD. Thanks for the reply!

When you get kabedonned by your rival and end up liking it. Man, even with the drama, this manga manages to be absolutely hilarious. The comedic timing is just perfect. This arc has been a little too serious and though it's fine as I'm binging through the chapters, it must have been frustrating reading it monthly.

Gotta say, Hayashi is one of my favorite characters now. I didn't think she'd be around this long when she was first introduced and she's grown to be one of the best characters in the series. Her reaction faces are incredible.

The characters and the premise are great if you ask me, the fights too are very very well done.
The problems are fanservice which is prominent and the fact that at the end the story is rushed and obviously has been cut off prematurely when there were a lot of plot points to still begin or end.
It's a great manga if you check your expectations.

Didn't even realize they skipped. Fell behind when they started going up late. I have to go back to find reactions to
Wizard King losing to Licht and their favorite Rill turning evil

I would say that there is an amazing arc (that's maybe 15 chapters). It hits a brief lull after that, and then has generally been good (with some great moments) for the last year or so of serialization.

Fans of girl targeted magazines skew so old, wow.

JUMP SQ has the tightest range, guess thats why the WSJ attempt on the exorcist appeal produced limited results. Still love jump sq the best out of all the magazines.

The WSJ appeals only to kids idea should be squashed for the fitth year in a row, when more than half of readers are over 19.

Boku no Hero Academia 180

What a great fight this turned out to be. It was great seeing Deku on the offensive with all his different attacks not damaging him in turn. Mei deserves extra credit for those gloves.

Dr. Stone 55

Hopefully this is the start of Magma's redemption and he gets some decent character development. I wonder what Gen is up to,

One Piece 902

Nice little story with Brulee and Katakuri, sympathetic villains yet again. Big Mom truly is terrifying.

Pretty bittersweet ending overall. Poor Pudding.

It does make me laugh how useless Sanji was ultimately. The cake only helped the Big Mom pirates.

So this is the end of Cake's arc, huh? (Or whatever it was called) It was kinda average, but not that terrible low, imo. I hope Shogun's arc can beat that level since the author's statement from last year (I think) was his ideas about the story plot was very extremely essential to One Piece's universe. Whatever he stores his ideas into it, I'm so hyped for this!

It has a lot of crap things but the one that drives me up the wall is the complete lack of support for spreads unless it literally just a landscape image.

Oh yeah, those are frustrating. Sometimes reading Attack on Titan on CR feels like a test. I understand they have the reader set up like this to prevent scraping and pirating but it's such a horrible reading experience.

I knew this was his goal. There was no way he was going to win (even tho he lost the fight) without doing something sneaky.

I'm ready for more chapters but these guys only release it once a week when there's tons of RAW chapters.

49 volumes in, I like the manga a lot because it's full of bullshit, that said it's a manga full of fanservice, so it's really a matter of, how much can you tolerate fanservice and bullshit?
Kenichi himself starts out like a wuss who gets "shaped" up into a strong martial artist by these uber strong masters and that all happens because these uber strong masters train him in this truly questionable way (which is usually shown off as a sort of joke). It tries to mix humor and serious moments a lot and... for me it succeeds more than it fails.

Having a dense female lead is just as bad as a dense MC but it's great to see such a funny cast of side characters all doing their part in getting this couple together. Chinatsu is great at dismantling tropes and her sadistic side is too funny. I'm still uncomfortable with the idea of an elementary school kid having, uh, minions and being into older guys like this however.

Shiina is a little too perfect but she makes a great pairing with the evil looking Sakuma. I was surprised to see how buff Usa was as well. Usually these kinds of leads are scrawny kids but this dude's got some muscle.

It took 70 chapters but this dense girl finally realized her feelings and is being actually proactive about it! She makes the most adorable faces. The photo they took together made me feel all warm and fluffy. You're almost there, Usa!

Art wise, it wasn't too bad but certain scenes looked a bit confusing.
Story wise, it felt like a mess to me. Gore and drama just for the sake of it. Drama specifically is so damn predictable that at the half point I told myself wouldn't it be funny if the sister turned out to have been resurrected by the bad guys and so she ends up on the team that will attack the dudes the brother joined? and wouldn't you know, that's exactly what happened.

This first volume ended up leaving me conflicted. On one hand, the predictability of certain events and how boring they end up being because of that is off-putting, while some background stuff I'd like to know more about.
I guess this will be a bit like Dead Tube, where I'll keep reading it out of morbid curiosity more than because I truly like what I'm reading.
